*Taka's POV*

Sky Leaf Pride...

It's been two weeks since I've become a rouge and now moving in Jengo's Pride , until I get my mind and things straight. I have to admit I do miss home. But I can't go back. No one wants me. Mufasa is the future leader. In five years the kingdom will be his. Father probably is teaching him all the good lessons.

"Hey Scar!"

My thoughts got interrupted by a lovely sweet sounded tone.

I stop my walk through the plains looking behind me. It's Zaina and I notice she's carrying a piece of zebra meat in her mouth.

"Hey, grey eyes!" I greet back.

She made a chuckle and sat the meat down. "Jengo told me to deliver this to you. Me and the huntresses just got back from our morning hunt. I figured you were either walking here through the plains or at the river!"

I sat down and smiled. "Thank you."

She push the meat to me with her nose then walk off returning back to the pride. I watch her disappear in the tall grass. After I made sure no one was around or looking, I tore and ate the zebra meat like I haven't eaten in ten years.

"Such goodness!"

I roll my eyes with pleasure. Droll fell down my lips, little red blood staining my muzzle. When I finished my breakfast, I laid down grooming my face and paws. I had no idea that I made such a mess. You would think someone who's a Prince has manners.

That's the prince?

No, that's a floating god. Yes that's the prince you idiot!

I hear whispering voices. My ears twitch trying to tune in. I stood slowly up.

"Who's there?" I call out.

No replies. Hm, maybe I'm hallucinating. I shrug my shoulders and start walking down a narrow path that leads a short cut to the river.

I step up to the river lowering my body and enter my pink rough tongue into the water scooping it inside my mouth. So cold and refreshing!

He's over there!

Get him!

I hear voices again. Im starting to get agitated. I raise my body fully up with a growl.

"Come out, I hear you!"

Two hyenas came out from the tall grass. I recognize their looks. They're the hyenas that tried to still my food that day. Me being a nice lion I let them have it.

"Hey Prince, remember us?" Said the female one with furry bangs.

"It hasn't been that long since we last seen each other." Said the male one.

I nod smiling. "Hey guys! Yes, I remember. I thought it was three of you?"

"Oh, the third one is our brother Ed. He's home with our parents." The male answered.

"I see. So what are you two names?"

"I'm Shenzi. Do you have anymore food?" Asked the female.

The male rolled his eyes at hos sister then look at me with a smile bowing. "And I'm Banza!"

I nod at them. "Nice to meet you. I can see a friendship developing here. Please, call me Scar!"

Shenzi smiled. "Scar? That's a nice name!"

I chuckle.

"Hey Scar, do you know where me and my sister here can find some food in these lands?" Ask Banza.

I look around. "Um, I'm not sure Banza. The lionesses hunt breakfast for the pride earlier. We ate Zebra! I can see if there's some left."

Shenzi's eyes grew wide as tennis balls. "You now have a pride?!"

"It's not my pride, it's my big cousin's. His name is Jengo King of these lands. He let me stay here for a while. You two might want to be careful not to be seen by him or any pride member."

Banza nodded. "Got it! We'll hide behind that tree over there until you return with our food."

I nod and walk off going back home to the pride's den hoping there's some food left for my hyena friends. When I arrive at the den, Jengo steps out with Taavi beside him. They're about to go on patrol.

"Good morning, Scar! Did Zaina give you that Zebra meat?" Jengo ask.

I nod. "Yup."

"Good. Me and Taavi are about to go on our late morning patrol. Be back soon!"

I wave my paw at them. Once the two were fully out of site, I rush into the den and search for any left over food.

Aha!

In the far back of the den I found a zebra thigh. I snatch it up with my jaws tightly and zoom out fast.

"It's about time you came back." Said Banza walking out from behind the large tree.

Shenzi nod. "Yeah, we thought you tricked us!"

I sat the thigh down and pant. I am so out of breath from running. Banza and Shenzi smiled widely.

"Zebra!" They both yelled in unison.

They start to rip it apart filling their bellies with delicious meat. I shook my head and laid down watching them.

In about two minutes the thigh that was once meat, turned into just a clean bone.

"Man, that was so good!" Banza laid on his back using his claw nail as a tooth pick.

I chuckle. "When was the last time you two ate something?"

Shenzi let out a loud burp. She excused herself then said, "When we first met you."

Wow, finding food really just be tough for them and their family. I shook my head at the sad thought.

"I wish I could help." I say.

Banza sat up a bit and smile. "You can!"

Shenzi lift a brow, "Um, how? Please explain that to me."

"Each time we visit our buddy Scar, he can go back to his pride and bring us food. How does that sound?"

I got up with a stretch. "Sounds like a lot of work to me."

Banza whined, "Oh please Scar? Your our pal!"

"And what do I get in return?"

"We'll do anything for you. It doesn't matter what. We'll even protect you! When ever you need help, just let out a roar and call us." Said Shenzi.

I grab my chin. "Hmmm."

Shenzi and Banza gave me adorable puppy eyes. I roll my eyes with a laugh.

"Alright." I said.

The two pounce on my back causing me to fall.

"Oh thank you, Prince!" Said Shenzi. She lick my ear.

I stood up causing them to roll off my back. "Okay, that's enough I need space."

Shenzi and Banza nod. "Yes, sir!"

I start walking back home. The hyenas followed me. I turn arisen and shook my head.

"You guys can't follow me to the pride. They'll chase you off or worse kill you!" I said with seriousness in my voice.

Shenzi nod which cause for her bangs to move up and down. "Oh yeah, right. Come on Banza lets go home!"

Banza groan. He turned around going in the opposite direction following his sister home. I watch them until they were out of site.

Those silly hyenas...
