What About Our Future?

Author's Note: Hey guys, Skyy15 here! I know, it's been such a LONG while since I have last updated this book. I have not forgotten about any of my handsome/beautiful readers! I log into Wattpad from time to time each week when I'm free to read you guys heartwarming comments on the chapters. It makes me smile ❤️.

Thank you all for being very patient. I've been extremely busy with college. I have been studying a lot and spending some time alone focusing on school work to be the best that I can be 😊.

But now that I am back briefly, I have decided since you all are very loyal readers, why not give a brand new chapter? ☺️. I had to do some re-reading of the book myself since it's been awhile. How can you write a book and forget what you have written? I don't know?! 😂.

Have you guys heard about Beyoncé casting Nala in the upcoming 2019 Lion King Remake movie? Tell me below, what are you comments? I honestly think it's a good idea knowing that she has an excellent singing voice! ☺️.

I have two unexpected surprises coming up in future chapters so be ready! This might leave you all at the edge of your seats 😊.

Again, thank you for following me on this journey. I appreciate every last one of you! 😘

Xoxo,

Skyy15 ❤️.

Ishara

It is a gorgeous after noon. Today the clouds are white marble on blue satin, dove grey underneath and brilliant white where they are thin enough to let the light through. The yolk looking sun has turned from yellowish brown to golden. Everyone is coming out and enjoying the warm and beautiful day, feeling the gentle heat.

The mountains lay in a great line like the spine of the land. It was as if long ago they were a great beast, only to lie down one day and never get up. Perhaps the beast fell into an enchanted sleep, perhaps its soul was still in there.

The range was high to the west and low to the east, curling at the end like a tail. They are the reason our land this side is so lush and the other side is scorching desert. To cross them the clouds must go high and meet the colder air up there, then they dump their rain on us, every drop.

Kion is giving me the rest of the day off from the Guard team since I've patrolled a few rounds earlier in the morning with Fuli. I am so glad because, I can spend more time with my girlfriend Kisima. We don't spend much time with each other anymore since I'm always with Kion or if she's doing hunts.

We're adults now. Everyone has a busy schedule. But today I want to show Kisima that I still care about her. She will always be my treasure, my great possession. I've just made it back home to Pride Rock after speaking with Kion. He's taking over my shift now at the borders. I hope Kisima is home so we can go out and spend the whole day together.

I walk up Pride Rock to the large cavern hoping she's inside. I check peeping my head inside and see that no one is there. The whole Pride must be outside behind Pride Rock enjoying the weather. I slide down the narrow slope and walk behind Pride Rock. I find Kisima laying on the rocks talking to Mila and Bahiya. Surprisedly, I did not find my sister Auni here with her friends. I wonder where she is?

I walk up to the three ladies with a nod. "Good afternoon, ladies!" I greet with a pleasant smile.

"Hello Ishara!" Bahiya greeted. "It's been a while hasn't it?"

"Yes Bahiya, indeed. Kion have decided to give me the rest of the day off."

Kisima smiled with excitement. "Really?! That's great! I really missed you..."

Kisima stood and hop down from the rock giving me a warm nuzzle. I rub my nose against her own purring.

"I've missed you too!" I said happily. "Lets have fun and spend the rest of the day together. Do you have any more hunts?"

"Nope! I am done for the day."

"Great! Let's go shall we?"

Kisima giggled. We both walk side by side away from Pride Rock where we can be alone without any worries or interruptions.

"So babe, how are things going lately with the Lion Guard?" Kisima asks, breaking the silence as we walked down a narrow path.

I nod. "Good. We haven't seen those hyenas around. I know they're coming up with something."

"As always..."

We both laugh.

"What about you Kisima? How's your mom, sister, and the hunts going so far?" I ask with concern.

"The hunts are doing excellent as always. My mom and sister are good too. They just miss having you around like me. You're like family to them Ishara. They always ask about you, especially my mom. You're like a son that she have always wished for."

"Yeah I know. Your mom and I have developed a very good bond. It's just like how my mom is with yours. My mom adores you so much Kisima."

Kisima blushes. "You really think so?"

"Not think, I know so." I smile.

We stop walking and sat down in front of the river staring down at our reflection. Kisima snuggles her head up against my mane purring. She points down at our reflection with a cute giggle.

"Look, our faces connect! Isn't that cool?"

"Because we belong together, Kisima."

Kisima pulls a part from me for a second and met her eyes with my own. She doesn't say anything but stare in awe. I smile even bigger because she's so cute when she does that.

I rub my nose on hers. "It was destiny. We've met for a reason. Two different worlds sometimes collide and become something much more..."

Kisima looks down at her colorless paws. "I actually had no idea that I would have found someone who loves me as much as I love them. Love is so hard these days..."

"I agree on that one. I mean, I could have dated any lioness at Pride Rock. But I didn't, I've chosen you. It's something about you Kisima that the other lionesses do not have."

"What do I have that they don't?"

I stare in her eyes. "Well lets see. You have beauty, brains, bravery, determination, an adorable laugh and the most beautiful big eyes that I have ever seen. Each time I look in them I feel like I am lost in some other world."

Kisima giggles and kisses my cheek. "Oh Ishara!" She blushes once more.

I laugh. "It's true! Plus after hearing your terrible past about your birth Pride makes me even want to cherish you even more. I want you to have a better life here and don't have to worry about a thing. I wouldn't want bad things for you. Only growth and a better future. A future with me that is..."

"A future with you? You mean, you really think that there's a possibility that we'll last even longer together?"

"Yes, I want marriage Kisima."

Kisima's eyes widen. "Wait, like now? Are you proposing Ishara?!"

I burst out with laughter. "No, no, no. Relax babe! Ha ha ha. If I propose, I wouldn't have done it here. It would have to be a place more romantic than this and for my lines to be much better."

"Oh okay."

"What I'm saying is, I do freak of us every day being a married couple and having cubs. You're the only lioness I want to share that moment with. Now, I don't think is the right timing based on the crazy events going on with our friends. If we do have a wedding, I want them to be there as well."

Kisima lift a brow. "Your referring to Makosa and Heri correct?"

"Yes. I've been best friends with them since I was a cub. I would love to have them at our wedding. They're considered as family too and I'm sure you want Bahiya there as well."

"I do, but I don't know...everyone's been acting funny lately. We're all putting on fakes smiles but I know it's something else going on. Someone isn't speaking up. I have a feeling Maha and your sister Auni knows a lot about it."

I squint my eyes after she said my sister's name. "What does Auni know?"

"Think about Ishara. She's never around us girls a lot or even you her brother. She hangs more with Heri. What is that all about? She left her family and friends for a Prince!"

"I don't think that was her true intentions Kisima. Before you came to Pride Rock, Auni and Heri grew up as very close friends since we were cubs. Every since Heri's strange disappearance and rumors going around saying that he was dead, it had crushed my sister deeply. So now having him back, it's like a healing process for her. They were destined and bothered long ago. Now, I don't know if that's going to continue anymore with Makosa and Bahiya in their original royal spots. It may change everything."

Kisima nodded. "Yeah...that's what Bahiya is fearing for. She told us about before you came earlier. I have a feeling somethings will end ugly. Meaning that friendships will not be the same."

"What do you mean?"

"If Heri takes his place back as King, then that means him and Makosa will have to fight and we will all have to pick our own sides. Bahiya automatically will chose Makosa's side since he's her husband. That means she won't be friends with us anymore since we all believe that Heri is doing the right thing. That's what I fear of and I am not a huge fan of picking sides. I just want everyone to be equal."

I nod and sigh sadly. "Yeah, I know what you mean babe. But we can't worry and stress ourselves about that. That's Queen Kiara and King Kovu's job to think about what's best for their kingdom and sons."

"I know. But the thing about scary it Ishara is that it is about OUR first future, not Queen Kiara and King Kovu's...OURS. We are the ones that have to live through it, not them." She said, with seriousness in her tone.

I really don't want Kisima to focus so much about the royal family on their thoughts and decisions on who becomes King and what not. It's not really the Pride (our say) to chose and decide what's going to happen next for us. What ever happens, we just have to pray and live by it. I'm sure things will get figured out and nothing too serious. Heri and Makosa are brothers. What worse can happen?
