Kopa

Last night...

I was coming back to Pride Rock after sneaking left over dinner to my friends Kam and Chris. It's been going on three weeks now doing this and I am TIRED. I can't keep going on. The pride soon will find out. Eventually I'll have to tell Kam and Chris.

I was walking up Pride Rock then stopped halfway. I hear voices, one familiar one.

Vitani...

It sounds like she's arguing with someone. I walk up a few more steps and see Vitani standing outside the cave talking to a auburn fur dark brown mane lion. It's the future King a.k.a her brother. I stood there silent, listening to their loud argument.

"What do you mean? That's crazy talk! You have everything here." He said.

"Yeah, like what?" Vitani asks.

"You know. Food, water, new friends, a better home and a family!" I say. "Why leave all of that behind?"

Vitani turned away from him. "Kovu these are your new friends and family. Not mines..."

Kovu looks confused. "Tani, what are you talking about?"

"It's everything you ever wanted. You always wanted to be with the Princess right? Well now you have it. Along with marriage and cubs. What a perfect life!"

"Vitani, you don't have to ever feel alone. There's plenty of guys here you can try talking to. What about uh that Kopa guy?"

Me? Why is my name brought up??

"It's not just that! Ugh, you don't understand..."

"Understand what?" Kovu asks.

"Your life has always been perfect Kovu. You were mother's favorite. She always spoiled you and gave you attention. Not to mention, you were the future King too! She never paid me or Nuka any mind. She only used us as servants." Vitani frowned.

His eyes sadden. "Tani..."

"No Kovu!" She snapped.

Kovu sat there silent.

"You have everything here. Now it's time for me to move on and hopefully start a fresh chapter."

"Vitani don't go, please!"

"Why?"

Vitani finally turn around and face her brother again.

"You're the only sibling I have that's alive. I'll miss you! We have always been close since cub hood. You were my best friend."

"I know..."

"So stay!"

Her eyes fill up with tears. "Kovu I can't!"

Kovu growled with irritation. "You have nephews here who love and adore you everyday. I remember when they were first born and how happy you was to become an aunt. Why throw that all away?"

"Look I have to do this okay!"

"Fine, just go!"

Vitani cried running pass me down Pride Rock. Kovu roar with anger.

Wow...

I was about to go inside the cave for bed, but then I thought about Vitani. She's hurt I should go check on her. I turn around walking down Pride Rock and chase after Vitani's scent.

"Tani!" I call.

No answer. Just my voice echoing across the land.

"Vitani I know you're out here and can hear me. It's me, Kopa!" I say.

"Go away!" A voice snaps.

It's her...

"Vitani please, come out."

"No."

I roll my eyes and sit down. "Fine. I'll just stay here."

She groan and step out of the tall grass. "What do you want?"

"I heard everything between you and your brother. What happened? Why is he so angry at you like that??"

"It's a long story..."

I place my paw on top of her own. "I have all night."

Vitani sits down and sigh. "Okay..."

I nod waiting for her to explain.

"My brother is basically upset at me because I told him I'm leaving the Pride Lands. He doesn't want me to leave."

"Why are you leaving?"

She looks down. "This isn't home for me..."

I raise a brow. "What do you mean?"

"I don't fit here. I feel like I am being judged and talked about every where I go. I can't take it anymore! Maybe because I am my mother's daughter. I don't know..."

"It's about your past isn't it?"

Vitani met her blue eyes with my red eyes. She nod her head sadly. I scoot over closer to her and hug her for comfort.

"Hey, it's okay." I cooed.

She rests her head on my shoulder. "No Kopa...it's not..."

"If leaving is what you really want to do and believe is the right thing, then I'll go with you Tani."

"What? No you can't-"

"I'm dead serious."

Vitani look at me again this time with worry in her eyes. "But what if something happens. What if one of us don't make it while traveling?"

I chuckle. "You worry a lot don't you?"

"Based on what you told me about your past being a rouge, why give all this up? I mean, King Simba was nice enough to let you live here. Why start all over a rouge again?"

"To be honest Vitani, I only stayed here because of you."

She looks puzzled. "W-What?"

I smile. "Because of you I stayed here not Simba. When I first saw you the day I was caught hunting here without permission, I knew I had to get to know you. Gosh, I thought you were so beautiful! Then as we talked and got to know each other more I realize we share a bit of similarities with our pasts. Vitani I rather run with you. I don't care where as long as I'm right there by your side."

"Oh Kopa..."

"I'll be there for you no matter what and I'm serious about that!"

Vitani smiled wide. "And I believe you too!"

She licks the side of my face. I laugh finding it cute then blush.

"How about we save our energy and rest here for the night? We leave early morning. It's best that way!" I said.

Vitani laid down and nod. "Okay."

I lay close beside her. It is pretty chilly tonight so I thought I could keep her warm. She smile and lay her head on top of my paws while I rest mines on her back.

"Thanks Kopa."

"For what?"

She close her eyes with a smile. "For being there for me. Good night!"

I smile also closing my eyes. "Good night, Tani."

Current day, morning...

"Vitani before we leave the Pride Lands I would like for you to meet two friends of mines." I said.

Vitani nodded. "Okay like who?"

Two male lions step out from behind two bushes. It's Chris and Kam. They both stare at Vitani with awe.

"Guys this is Vitani. The lioness I told you about." I introduce. "Vitani, these are my friends Chris and Kam! They've been with me every since I left that animal reserve place."

"Hello!" She greets with a kind smile.

"Well, hello beautiful!" Kam flirted.

I roll my eyes at him.

Chris step up and shook her paw. "Hi there! Kopa has told us so much about you."

Vitani smirks at me. "Oh really? I hope it's good nothing bad."

"Trust me it's all good!"

I started to get a bit irritated and began walking off. "Okay enough chatting let's get a move on."

"Wait, they're coming with us?" Tani asks, jumping to my side.

"Yeah. These my boys their with me for life! I was hoping you didn't mind?"

"No, I don't. Just asking that's all..."

The four of us walk out of the Pride Lands territory. Vitani slowed down and happen to fall behind us.

"Tani you coming?" I ask, looking over my shoulder.

I see her looking far back at Pride Rock.  She made a sigh then turn around giving me a half smile and nodded.

"Yeah, sorry."

She leaps to my side. We continue walking together. I have no idea where the four of us are going to. Hopefully our next destination will be something great.
