Plan In Motion

Marjani

"Bamba, Dogo!" I call.

Two male hyenas walk up. One is brown and the other spotted.

They both kneel. "Yes, your highness!"

"I have an important job for you both today. As you know, I've been planning to get rid of that King Simba. Simba isn't going to go down easy. I know that. So we need to do something that'll get his attention for sure."

"Which is?" Bamba, the brown one asks.

"I want you to kill his grandchildren the Princess cubs. That'll draw major attention to both the King and his pride. Think of it as our third final warning before we officially take over the Pride Lands. We need the lions to think that us hyenas mean business! Can you two handle the job?"

Dogo the spotted one nod his head. "Yes, ma'am!"

I smile evilly. "Very good. Don't come back either unless the job is complete! Now go on, I wish luck to you both."

Bamba and Dogo exit out the den while I sat there continuously smiling.

The plan is in motion...

Heri

Waterhole...

"Ugh, I hate coming to the waterhole!" Makosa, my brother whines.

Maha, my aunt chuckled. "And why so Makosa?"

"Cause it's so boring! It's nothing here but animals who come to drink day after day. I wish we could go some place fun."

"Like what?"

"I don't know. Any place but here..."

"Makosa, you know mom said we have to stay close by. She doesn't want us to go any where else that's far from the pride's watchful eyes. I heard grandpa Simba one time announcing the whole pride that there's been another hyena issue. Which explains that day why dad was so hurt." I said.

Makosa shrugs. "I guess."

"How about we take a swim?"

"Swim?" Maha asks.

I nod with a smile. "Yeah! It'll be fun. The water here isn't deep at all."

"Oh..."

I was the first to run and jump into the water, splashing Makosa and Maha both in the process.

"Heri you idiot!" Makosa growled.

I swam up to the surface spitting water out of my mouth then laughed. "Come on guys, the water is fine! Unless you're  both scary cats."

"Scary cats?! I ain't no darn scary cat!" Makosa said, while crossing his furry arms.

I smirk. "Prove it."

Makosa took a few steps back and ran forward jumping up in the air and landing successfully into the waterhole. I cover my face as water splashed everywhere.

"Alright!" I laughed.

Makosa swam up to the surface to catch his breath.

I look at Maha noticing she's the only one left. She stood there nervously.

"Coming in Maha?" I ask.

She took one step forward to the water and stick her paw in it. "I don't know. You guys can count me out this time."

Makosa rolled his reddish brown eyes. "Oh stop being a scary cat! The water completely safe. You don't see anything wrong with me and Heri."

Maha frowned at Makosa. "I am not a scary cat! I-I just never been inside of water before..."

My emerald green eyes widen as I gasp. "What?! Are you saying Maha that you've never swim before?"

She shook her head sadly.

"In coming!!" Yelled a voice.

I move my ears around like a radar. What's that?

"Waaaaaaaah!!" Maha screamed.

Maha was pushed into the water. Behind her was my best friend "Ishara". He jumped into water splashing me and Makosa both in the process.

I laughed. "Ishara!"

He swam over with a smile. "Sup Heri! I heard you guys while searching for my sister and couldn't help but to join the fun."

"Where is your sister?"

"I don't know."

"I'm here!" Replied a voice.

We turn our heads. Sitting on a rock is Ishara's sister "Auni". She's small and slender with burnt orange fur, chestnut eyes, small tuft on her head, and sharp claws that stay out.

"Hey Auni!" I wave.

She waves back with a smile. "Hi Heri and Makosa!"

Ishara frowned. "Auni where were you? Mother told us to stick together!"

"Pfft. I don't need my big brother to control me or tell me where to go. I know what mother said! Besides, I wasn't far."

"Uh huh."

Maha swam quickly out of the water and coughed. "Never...again...I...will...get...in...water."
"Hey, what's up with her?" Ishara points.

I chuckle. "Oh, that's just my aunt Maha!"

"Aunt? But she's-"

"A cub? I know. It's a very long story. She's my grandma's daughter and my sister and uncle's baby sister."

"Oooooh, I see now."

"Yeah. Kind of weird, but Makosa and I think of her more as a friend."

"Cool. She's pretty!" Ishara smiled.

I raise a brow. "Say what?"

Makosa sticks out his tongue. "Eww dude, gross!"

Ishara swims out of the water shaking out his sandy tan fur dry. Unlike his sister Auni, Ishara has blue eyes and his claws does not stay out. Underneath  both his eyes lays a spot. Like me, Ishara has a small patch of hair on his head.

He walks up to Maha with a friendly smile. "Hey there! You okay?"

Maha was licking her fur clean. She stopped realizing a stranger is speaking to her. "W-Who are you?"

"My name is Ishara! I'm friends with Heri and Makosa. Heri is my best friend."

"Cool..."

"I'm guessing your name is Maha, correct?"

She backs away shyly. "Yeah..."

Ishara steps up. "Whoa, whoa. No need to be afraid!" He chuckled. "I'm a nice guy and the funniest around."

Auni walks down from the tall rock she was sitting and joins her brother's side. She rolled her eyes, "Yeah, the funniest being an idiot all the time."

Maha let out a giggle. Ishara glared at his sister.

"My name is Auni! This would be my brother. I'm sorry, is he bothering you?"

"No. He was just being nice that's all."

Makosa and I got out the water joining the group.

"Now that we all know each other lets play!" I say.

"Play what Heri? We can't go anywhere remember but stay here!" Said Maksoa.

"Really?" Ishara asks, cocking his head to the side.

I nod. "Yeah. Are parents have been strict on us to stay at the waterhole due to the hyenas."

"Hyenas? Where?!" Auni panics, while running behind a tree.

"Here!" Growled a voice.

"Aaaaaaaaaah!!!" We all screamed.

Next, there was loud laughter.

Huh?

Walking out of the tall grass is "Bahiya". Another lion cub who's small and slender. She has creamy fur with hazel eyes and a hair tuft on top of her head.

"Bahiya!" I frowned, "That wasn't nice."

Ishara nodded. "Yeah, you had us all fooled and scared my sister to death!"

Bahiya rolled her eyes. "Blah, blah. Can't any of you take a simple joke?"

Auni came out from hiding behind a tree. She also frowned, "No! You know how I feel about those dogs."

"Whatever."

Makosa walks up to Bahiya with a smile. It's been a while since they've last seen each other due to that Out Lands hyena situation.

"H-Hey Bahiya!" He greet.

She smiles big and pin Makosa on the ground. "Hey Makosa! Long time no see. I see your outside finally."

"Yeah, finally."

Bahiya giggled. The two began to play fight.

"Okay, I'm getting bored now watching these two." Said Maha.

I nod. "I agree. So what should we play?"

"How about King of the rock?" Ishara suggests.

"Again?" Auni groaned. "You guys played that game  yesterday!"

"So what! Let's play it again. It was pretty fun."

Maha looks confused. "What's King of the rock?"

I forgot she didn't play with us yesterday. Guess I have to explain!

"Okay, King of the rock is basically a simple game where you have a King. Everyone has to listen and do what he says. He's in charge!"

"Oh."

"I wanna be the King this time!" Said Ishara.

I nod. "Okay."

"That means I can't be the Queen anymore since you're my brother. That'll be gross!" Said Auni.

"How about Maha be my Queen?"

Maha looks surprised. "W-What? Me??"

Ishara smiled. "Yeah, it'll be fun! Heri can be the Lion Guard and Auni my servant."

"I guess..."

I place a paw on Maha's shoulder with a smile. "Don't worry, it's going to be fun!"

She smiles back. "Okay!"

"Let's play!"

Ishara stood on top of the tall rock that Auni was sitting on earlier. He stands strong letting the wind blow through his fur.

"My Queen!" He calls.

Maha walks up. "Y-Yes my King?"

"Tell my servant to send me my great Lion Guard."

"Okay."

Maha walks over to Auni.

"What does the King want now?" She asks annoyed.

"He said send him the great Lion Guard."

"Alright."

Auni comes up to Ishara with me at her side. "Here he is. Would that be all your majesty?"

"Yes, now go."

Auni walks off leaving just me, Ishara, and Maha.

I bow. "Hello my King. Do you need my help today?"

Ishara smiles. "Hello Heri and no I don't. I just wanted to say you've done a good job protecting the lands. I appreciate what you do!"

"Thank you."

"Aaaaaaaah!!!"

"What was that?" Ishara asks, making us stop the game.

I shrug looking around. "I don't know."

"Hyenas, hyenas!!" A voice screams.

It sounds like my brother.

"Makosa!" I call, worriedly.

Auni rolled her eyes. "Probably another trick."

Maha shook her head. "I don't know Auni, this sounds serious."

"Let's go check it out." I say, running fast to direction of my brother's voice.

The three of them follow behind me. Deep in the Grasslands I've found Makosa and Bahiya both being chased by two hyenas.

Not again....

Ishara gasps. Maha face is filled with fright.

"We must get help quick!" Auni said.

I nod. "Go get my parents. I'll try to save them."

"No, it'll be too dangerous!"

"Trust me. I have a plan, just go!"

Auni stood there staring at me for a second, then turn around running back home to Pride Rock.

"So what is your plan actually?" Ishara asks me.

"You and I will distract the hyenas until my parents and the pride get here."

"Say what?! Are you crazy?!! I would not like to be on a hyena's lunch menu today, okay?"

I growl and run down the hill up to where Makosa and Bahiya are. "Fine, I'll go on my own."

"Heri, wait!"
