Zawadi

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Okay, so everyone has been commenting asking me "What happened to Zawadi?" "Where is she?" "Is she still in the book?" Zawadi is still a character here so don't freak out haha. I see she's the MOST popular out of my own characters. Trust me, I did not forget about my favorite girl ❤️. At first I wanted to cut her off meaning I did not want to continue her POV in this third book. But since you guys love her so much I'll finish her off yaaaaay! 😁 Okay, enough with all the interruptions you may enjoy the new chapter! 😝

~FLASHBACK~

"Leave me alone, Kibwe!"

Kibwe sprints up to my left side. "You can't run forever."

I growl at him. "Try me!"

Kibwe jumps in front of me causing me to crash into him.

"You idiot!"

We both roll down a high hill and land in a grassy meadow. I slowly stand rubbing my head.

"Zawadi, please...don't leave." Kibwe begs, while standing up.

I growl louder. "I can't believe my sister would do that me!"

"It's not Ama's fault. It's nobody's fault okay!"

"It is."

"You can't blame this on her. I proposed to Ama. She accept and your parents."

"...What?"

Disappointment is covering my whole entire face right now.

"Yes. We both thought you were dead. You never came back."

"Oh, so marry Zawadi's sister since she's dead? Bull sh-" I snarl.

Kibwe cut me off and frown. "Hey, watch your mouth! That's not how a princess should behave."

"I'm no longer a princess anymore or a member of this pride. I am out of here!"

I begin walking the opposite away from Kibwe.

"Ugh, your such a cub!"

I pause and look over my shoulder. "How so?"

"Instead of being childish Zawadi, you should be happy that your sister is now a Queen, married, and that your an aunt to two beautiful Cubs. As your King, my friend, and brother-in-law you should be happy. Why leave and throw that away? If your parents were alive, they would be happy to hear that you've returned. Where are you running off to next? No where, exactly!"

"You don't know where I'm going, Kibwe. Just shut your mouth!"

Kibwe released an angry roar and stomp his paw. "Why are you so angry?!"

I turn around quick facing him with tears. "BECAUSE I LOVED YOU!" I shout. "There I said it."

Kibwe's angry face had softened. "Zawadi..."

"Just leave me alone. Hope you two have a happy life!"

With that, I ran off again leaving the pride's territory. The Sky Leaf Pride doesn't need me anymore...My son is what needs me...

~END OF FLASHBACK, CURRENT DAY~

It's been months...months of traveling to no where. I am now an official rouge lioness. I eat, sleep, and walk where ever I please from land to land. I am alone with no one to watch or take care of me.

"I have to find my son...I have to find my son..." I keep repeating to myself over and over in my mind.

I think of my son every day. Time has gone on now. I'm pretty sure he has gotten big from the last time I saw him.

~ANOTHER FLASH BACK~

"Mommy, what are stars?"

"Stars little one are a fixed luminous point in the night sky that is a large, remote incandescent body like the sun."

Heru looked confused. "The who and the what?"

I chuckle forgetting that he is only a child and doesn't understand big words just yet. "Stars are glowing objects in the night skies that people sometimes make wishes under."

"Wishes? Cool! I want to make one, I want to make one!!"

"You do? Okay, go ahead kiddo."

Heru closed his eyes. "I wish to be with you forever mommy..."

I smile and hugged Heru tight. "Oh Heru. Life cannot always be promised. No one can't live forever. But if something ever happens to me, just know I'll always be-"

"In your heart...right?"

"Yes."

Heru hugged me.

~END OF FLASH BACK~

I stop walking and stand in front of a waterhole. A tear had fell from my left eye.

I left my son too soon...

What was I thinking then?

I was so driven about my freedom that I didn't even think about my own child. At least could've brought him with me!

I cry more tears. What a bad mother I am...

Heru will grow up to hate me...

There's no point in going back there...

Probably doesn't want me around anymore since I abandon him...

"I smell something. It seems like it's coming from over here!" Said a voice.

My ears twitch. Huh?

"By the waterhole!"

Uh oh. Seems like I've found company...

I quickly look around to find some place to hide. A low cave was close by. I crawl in and remain quiet. If I make any sounds or movements I'll be discovered.

"That's funny. The scent came from here now it's gone!" Said the voice.

"Kion, many animals come here to the watering hole to drink. Must of been something else!" Said another voice, a feminine one that is.

"Hmmm...I guess. Let's move out! My father said he needed our help with something."

I waited until it got real quiet again.

They must be gone...

I got up and slowly peep my head outside. All I see is animals drinking at the waterhole.

I am safe for now...

I crawl out of the low cave and stretched.

I guess this will be my small shelter to sleep at for tonight...

Now, what can I eat?

I scan my eyes around giving the air a few sniffs.

So much prey to choose from!

There's zebra, wildebeest, Thompson gazelles, antelopes, Buffaloes, and many more.

This place is full of life!

I think I'll go for gazelle today. I crouch low to ground. A male gazelle is busy eating on grass. I tip toe close to him being careful to not make any sudden movements to frighten him off.

3...2...1...

"RAAAAAAWWWWRRR!!!"

The gazelle gasp. Before he could even run away, I pounce on his back. He tried kicking his way free but I held on tight with my sharp claws. One strong bite on the neck and he was dead. I carry my prize back to the low cave. I didn't want the smell of fresh blood to attract any predators so I ate in there peacefully.

So delicious!

After eating, I groomed myself clean and decide to take a nap. I'll explore the rest of the place tonight when I wake.
