Kiara

I was so angry. Angry at the fact that my own son would even go out into the Out Lands. Kovu and I raised him and his brother Heri much better than that! Kovu told them everything dangerous about that place.

Why did he still go anyway?

What's worse about it is that he had my best friend Tiifu's daughter with him. Like are you serious?! That's two lives that could've gotten killed today. Thank the great kings Zazu spot the cubs there while patrolling the skies. If Kovu and I didn't make it in the Out Lands on time, they would have been goners.

What a sad day that'll be...

We arrive at Pride Rock. Tiifu ran up to me happily and gave me a tight hug.

"Oh thank you Kiara! I was worried sick." She said.

I smile hugging her back. "No problem."

We both let go. I look down at my son with a frown. "Makosa, do you mind explaining to Bahiya's mother on what had happened today?"

Makosa ears fell flat. Bahiya's did the same thing as she gulped and step forward to her mother and I.

"I confess!" She said.

I raise a brow. "What?"

Tiifu looks confused. "What is it dear?"

Bahiya looked down sadly at her small paws while swishing her tail back and forth. "It was my idea to go into the Out Lands not Makosa's."

Tiifu and I both gasp. We couldn't believe what our ears had just heard.

Wow, she's taking up for him...

I chuckle. "Bahiya sweetie, you don't have to take up for my son. It's alright!"

"But I'm not miss Kiara. I'm telling the truth! I'm the one that dragged him along with me. Makosa wanted to go back home but I told him to stay. I thought it was cool to play there. I am so sorry!"

Bahiya cried a few tears. Tiifu was absolutely stunned as I am. I didn't really know what to say.

Tiifu frowned. She pick her daughter up by the scruff. "We're going to have a nice long talk missy. I apologize Kiara, this won't ever happen again."

I nod. "It's okay."

They're now gone. It only left me and Makosa. Makosa was still looking down sadly.

I sigh. "Makosa?"

He look up with a sniff, tears welling up in his adorable reddish brown eyes. "Yes mama?"

"I'm sorry for snapping at you. I should have asked first before blaming quick on something. But I am still very upset that you were there Makosa. You could've came home and told someone. Do you know that if your dad and I wasn't there on time you two could have gotten killed?"

"Yes..."

I took my paw and pushed Makosa closer to me. He hugged my leg.

"I don't know what I would do if I had lost you. Gosh I was so scared..." I said.

"I love you mama." He smiled.

I smile back and lick the top of his head. "I love you too. Now stay out of trouble okay?"

"Okay. Hey, mom?"

"Yes?"

"Does that mean I'm still grounded?"

"You bet!"

"But mooooooom." Makosa whined.

I grin. "In the cave, now."

"Yes mom..."

Makosa slowly walked up Pride Rock.

He still has to learn from his mistakes...

I was about to follow him until...

"Kiara!"

I look over my shoulder. It's my handsome husband back from the Out Lands. I smile wide, "Honey!"

I ran up and nuzzle him. "I knew you would be okay."

"Ouch! Easy there honey."

"Oh, sorry."

I took a step back and see Kovu's body covered in blood, teeth marks, and claw marks. But it wasn't his blood though. It smelled like someone else's.

"Oh my gosh, what happened to you?" I ask.

"There was so many..." He said, then coughed.

"Of what? Hyenas?!"

"Yes. Like hundreds!"

I hug him but careful while doing so. "Oh my! I'm glad that you made back alive at least."

Kovu sat down to catch his breath and coughed again. "That's because I ran. I couldn't fight them all off alone. They would of killed me."

I place my paw on top of his own. "I'm going to go get my father. He needs to know this."

Kovu nodded. I left to go find daddy. I'm sure he's home now from his patrol earlier.

"Father?" I call.

"Yes Kiara?"

I found him laying behind Pride Rock with mother, Maha, and Heri.

"Did you find Makosa?" Mother asked.

"Yes, Makosa is safe. I grounded him he's in the cave now. We found him in the Out Lands almost being attacked by two hyenas." I shortly explained.

Father gasped. "What?"

"Speaking of hyenas, father Kovu tried to fight them off but got ambushed by the whole clan. He's hurt!"

"Where is he?"

"Follow me."

Father quickly got up and follow behind me to Kovu. When we got there, Kovu was laying down licking his wounds.

"Kovu are you okay?" Father asked, panicking.

Kovu nodded. "Yeah I'm cool. Just a few cuts here and there."

I raise a brow. "A few? You mean a lot! They're all over you."

"I'm fine. It could have been worse."

"So the hyenas have been hiding in the Out Lands all this time huh?" Father asked. "Interesting..."

"They seem to be well fed too. I wonder how they're getting all their food. The Out Lands is an complete wasteland. I've lived there my whole life. Only little food and water was provided." Said Kovu.

"Unless they're stealing again." I said, shrugging.

"Not from here." Said father shaking his head. "The animals would of saw them and report quick to me or Zazu."

"Hmm..."

"I don't know and don't care. As long as they're not in my Pride lands then there's nothing to worry about."

"Their probably plotting to get rid of us." Said Kovu.

Father snorted. "I doubt it."

I look worried. "I don't know daddy. Kovu claim that it was hundreds of them. What if they're building an army?"

"Marjani isn't stupid okay? She wouldn't dare try me. She knows we'll wipe out her clan in an instant! Now stop worrying you two and come home. There's some left over wildebeest the huntresses saved for you."

Father turn around walked back to Pride Rock. I help Kovu stand back up on his paws.

"Thanks Kiara, I got it." He said.

I nod and walk close beside him.

I hope father is right about those hyenas...
