Vitani

Kion sat down feeling kind of embarrassed. The lion snicker at him then notice me staring. I quickly turn away clearing my throat. My cheeks turn a nice shade of red. He smirks at me.

Great Vitani, just great...

Simba wave his paw in his face trying to catch the lion's attention.

"Uh, hello there?" Simba said.

The lion look at him then bow. "My apologies, your majesty..."

I giggle. No one heard me though.

"How many are you with?" He ask, concern.

"Just two." The lion replied.

"I'm hoping female."

"No sir, both males."

Simba shook his head. "I'm afraid this will not work. Too many males will cause too much flirting activities with the lionesses and too much stress on the hunting party. Our pride is already crowded enough. Only one of you can join."

"I can't leave my friends. They're like brothers to me." The lion said, a bit sad.

"It's either that or get out of my kingdom." Simba simply said.

The lion look down at his paws thinking.

He nods. "I'll stay."

Simba nodded too. "Okay. My son Kion here will go over the pride and kingdom rules with you. My name is King Simba, welcome to the Pride Lands! Kiara come, your mother and I have a surprise to tell you."

Kiara followed behind her father. I went the opposite direction to where the lionesses are. My friends Jaha and the twins Spotty and Dotty are laying on warm rocks sun bathing. They're from my mother's pride too. We've been friends a long time.

Spotty and Dotty are a few years older than me. Dotty is the lioness my brother Nuka use to have a huge crush on until he died. It broke Dotty's heart that she had to find out after his death. They could've been mates now. It took her a long while to move on.

Jaha, Kovu, and I all share the same exact age. Jaha is my best childhood friend. While Kovu was with mother King training, I would be with Jaha playing outsider games which was always wrestling or fighting. Now we're both young adults, Jaha being the most beautiful out of me and the twins.

Jaha has peach colored fur, colorless paws, salmon colored nose shaped like the outsiders, and Arctic eyes. All the male lions fall in love with her no matter where she goes. But Jaha found no interest yet. Who ever she finds, they're going to be very lucky.

Spotty has spots under her left eye and Dotty has dots under her right. Both of their fur colors are gray except, Dotty is a few shades lighter than her sister Spotty who is dark.

"Oh Tani, your back!" Jaha greets.

I head bud her.

Spotty wakes up from her nap with a yawn. Dotty sits up and smile.

"How was it with the hunting party?Tell us, tell us!" Dotty asks, anxiously.

I sit and chuckle. "It was cool. They like me!"

"That's good!" Said Spotty, nodding her head.

"Yeah, an official member of the team!"

They clap their paws while I tilt my head up proudly.

"I heard from one of the lionesses that a new male lion is here in the Pride Lands." Said Jaha.

"Yeah and that he looks just like Simba." Spotty nodded.

"He does, but I doubt that they're related. I don't know." I said, now getting up and laying down on one of the rocks.

"You've met him already?" Dotty asks.

I shook my head. "Alone? No. I was with Simba and Kiara. We didn't spoke, just shared a few glances."

"Is he cute?" Spotty ask.

Jaha nudge her and laugh. "Spotty!"

"Whaaat? Just asking!" She laughed.

I shyly look down at my front paws. "He's attractive, yes. But it doesn't matter! Someone good looking like him probably already has a mate or an eye on him."

Dotty, Spotty, and Jaha look at each other than me with wide smirks.

I look puzzled. "What? What is it girls??"

"Sounds like you have a crush." Said Spotty.

"What's his name?" Jaha asks.

"Kopa I think..." I said, trying to remember.

"Kopa huh? Not so bad name." Said Dotty.

"Is that him coming this way with Kion?" Spotty points.

I follow her point with my eyes. Crap, it is!

I start feeling nervous and weird inside. My face became sweaty.

"Hello ladies!" Kion greets while walking past.

"Hello!" The girls wave, giggling.

I roll my eyes at them.

Fan girls...

Then I see Kopa. He looks at me and wink. I felt like I was about to melt. He continues walking behind Kion going up Pride Rock.

Okay, maybe I do have a tiny crush on him...

But he just got here!

What kind of guy like him would have an interest in me anyways...

I am nothing but a tom boy...

I sigh and look down. The girls continue to giggle.

"So that's Kopa huh?" Jaha asks.

"Yeah, he's pretty handsome indeed!" Said Spotty.

Dotty looks unsure. "I don't know. He looks like he could be one of those dangerous bad boys."

"Oh hush, Dotty!" Said Spotty, hitting her twin sister with her tail.

"Maybe you two should try talking, Tani. You know, getting to know each other and start off as friends." Jaha suggested.

I shake my head quick. "Oh no no! I couldn't possibly-"

"Just give it a shot." Said Spotty.

"But he just got here." Dotty noted. "You don't want to rush things. Give him a few days to get use to being here Vitani and then maybe you can talk to him. It's the right timing!"

She's right...

I nod. "Okay."

I can't believe they got me into doing this. But, it wouldn't hurt to try. I'm not good at flirting but hey, maybe I'll be lucky! I lay my head down over my paws drifting off into a peaceful nap.

Later on that day, the sun has finally set letting the Pride Lands cool down from the boiling afternoon heat. I follow the pride lionesses up Pride Rock. We were all in a meeting with King Simba and Queen Nala. They had announced that they're expecting another cub.

The whole pride grew excited. First Kiara, now Nala. Two Royal cubs are going to be jumping around Pride Rock soon. Being a parent must be a beautiful thing. I always had a special thing for cubs. They're so adorable and innocent!

Maybe someday...

I went inside the cave. Everyone was eating the dinner the hunting party and I had caught. We brought home a big wildebeest. It was enough to go around. After eating, I groom myself then laid down for bed. Kovu usually sleeps in the front with the royals, so I join the rest of the pride in the back of the cave.

The cave grew quiet. Everyone is now sleeping. I was about to do the same until I heard paws walking. I open my eyes seeing Kopa. He takes a piece of left over wildebeest meat and walks out of the cave.

Where is he going?

Curiously, I got up and walk out shortly after. I couldn't find Kopa outside.

Where is he?

"Looking for something, miss?" A deep voice asks.

I jump being startled and turn seeing Kopa. I notice he doesn't have the meat anymore.

Where did it go?

"Oh, I-I was just uh-" I said, stammering.

He chuckled. "It's cold out, you should be inside with the others."

"I will. What were you doing with that piece of meat?"

"What piece of meat?"

Now he's playing dumb...

"The piece of meat who had taken from the left overs pile and walk out of the cave with. I saw you!"

"I ate it."

I lift a brow. "Ate it?"

He nod. "Yes, outside. I didn't want to wake up anyone while eating."

"Oh..."

Now I feel dumb...

"What is your name?" Kopa asks.

"Vitani. Your Kopa right?"

"Yeah, how did you-"

I grin and walk pass him going back inside the cave. "Words go fast here, newcomer."

Kopa stood outside for a moment then follow me inside.

Maybe he's not so bad...

I'll have to pay attention more...
