"Mheetu where are we going?"

"I can't tell you Haiba. That'll ruin the surprise!"

She groans. "Fine..."

I laugh. "Just keep walking straight and your eyes closed. I'm right beside you!"

"Mhm..."

I wanted to give Haiba a small surprise on something. Something she probably hasn't seen in a long time since we were small cubs.

"Can I open my eyes now?"

"Yes!"

We stop walking. Haiba opened her wine colored eyes and gasp.

"...No way..." She said.

I smile. "Remember?"

Haiba walks around. "This is where we use to play in when we were cubs. Our little private hang out!"

"Yup!"

"Oh Mheetu!"

Haiba pounce on me. I stumble over falling on my side and laugh.

"I can't believe I forgot about this place! It still looks the same. All the flowers are beautiful."

"Yeah, beautiful just like you..."

Haiba froze. She stare at me as I continue to smile.

"Haiba, I noticed every since I came back to the Pride Lands we've became more closer than ever. Like more than friends! The way we act around each other and care for one another. It's crazy...I feel like I am in love with you."

"That's funny because, I feel the same way."

My smile grew wide. I wasn't expecting that!

"Really?! I knew it!"

She laughed. "How so?"

"Nala, my sister. She always thought when we were younger that you had a crush on me. I guess I was so blind to see." I said, shaking my head.

"Haha. Well, now you know."

Haiba leans over to me close putting her nose against my own. She purrs and all I can see is love in her eyes.

I gulped. "Haiba, w-would you b-be my mate?"

"Of course! Now kiss me you idiot!!" She laughed, while still standing over me.

I gave her a lick on the muzzle.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are now engaged! 😁👏🏽

"You know we can't mate until mating season right?" Haiba said, now sitting.

I sat up. "Yeah I know. We can always wait longer. I'm not in no rush!"

"Good."

I sit close beside her. We cuddle looking up at the afternoon sky that's now shifting  to evening. The clouds are quite colorful. Some are pink and orange.

"What a lovely scene..." She said, while resting her head under my chin.

"Yes, indeed." I smile again.
