While we were walking to Hades' Palace we walked passed the Fields of Asphodel and we passed Elysium. Then Grover suddenly jerked. I looked down and looked at the shoes. They sprouted the wings but I didn't hear him say anything. But then we had to run after him because the shoes were dragging him to who knew where. It was like running the mile back home. At least I was used to the running and fit. Then a cavern came into view. I sprinted faster. Grover was definitely getting dragged there. Then he crashed into a ten foot boulder. The left shoe got whacked off. When he was slipping I lunged and grabbed his arm. But I slipped and fell... but then I felt hands on my waist. I just focused on getting Grover.

"Shake it off!" I yelled. Grover shook his goat leg. The shoe came off and went to join its twin. Then we all fell in a heap. I breathed in deeply. Then I felt air start to slowly get restless. I got worried. "Guys. We have to go," I started to get up. I pulled Annabeth up. And Percy was staring at the cavern.

"Percy come on. I know it's the pit in your dreams but I can sense power at work," I grabbed his wrist. We were out of there in time too. The air seemed to create a vacuum trying to suck in anything like inhaling. Tartarus. One of my least favorite places. We walked through the Garden of Persephone. Then we reached the double doors. But before any of us could make contact with the door they swung open and hot air blew into our faces. I got knocked to the ground. I looked up and saw Hades on his throne. Hades' power radiated off him a lot. He was one of the eldest gods so that would make sense. I got so overwhelmed by the power he had that rolled off of him that it knocked me off my feet.

"Clair!" Percy knelt.

"I'm fine. I'm fine. He's powerful. That aura is big. Not like Mr. D's. More than that. My body's just in shock from the sudden overload of power," I gasped. I clutched my stomach. The power felt like it made me weak especially in my core or where my stomach area is. I heard Hades chuckle.

"You are brave son of Poseidon. After what you have done to me Percy very brave. Or simply very foolish. And you dragged your sister into this? I know that she's not that cunning even if she's special. I would have detected her right away," he said. After a little while I was so confused. Hades insisted that Percy took the bolt as well as Hades' own Helm of Darkness. Hades told Percy to open his pack. And there it was: Zeus' master bolt. I was still crouched on the ground gawking at it in Percy's hands. Then it hit me.

"Oh don't tell me-"

"Yup," Percy said. His hand went to the pocket that held the pearls. Hades brought up the fact that Percy came here to bargain for our mothers back. Hades showed us both of our mothers. Sally was like when she was turned to golden dust. She looked like a hologram. But my mom looked more solid. I sat there and pointed at her with my mouth open. I saw her blink and look down.

"Wait. Mom? How? She-" but Hades cut me off with the pearls. Percy took them out.

"Only four," Hades commented. I looked up at the other three. While the other three were arguing I thought things through in my head. Finally I painfully stood up. It felt like I had a massive stomachache.

"Guys. It's better if I stay here. I mean I will get hunted down. And besides I-"

"No. Clair if I return without you or both our mom's I will be crushed to the bone. You know I won't leave you," Percy looked at me. I sighed. I won't win this fight. Besides the pain was making me go numb. I was bent over a little and was still clutching my stomach. "I'll find your Helm Uncle. I'll return it," Percy said a farewell. "Can you crush a pearl?" Percy whispered in my ear.

"I'll die of pain though," I muttered. I stood up again. He gave each of us a pearl.

"Now guys!" Percy yelled. I stomped with all my might. I successfully crushed it. We started to rise up to the ceiling. We went through the ceiling and rose to the surface of water. My stomachache was gone which was good. But in the distance I could see fire going everywhere and smoke following close behind it. I knew what the time was: June 21 early morning and of course it was the summer solstice.
