(Also, it seemed I forgot to give Peter and Martha a physical look so here they are!)

It was day as Katelynn was sitting with Martha near the campfire, waiting for Peter and Hailey to come back with food. Above them, standing on a large tree branch, was their mysterious ally, Paradox, who was surveying the forest with such focus. His pose was him crossing his arms and standing perfectly still. Katelynn thought back to a conversation they had with him a two days ago.

2 DAYS AGO...

Paradox: "I was sent here by Caliber, to protect you from the dangers of the past and future."

Martha: "Cal? Sent you back in time? Why couldn't he come back himself."

Paradox was silent for awhile before speaking.

Paradox: "He is dead." He said emotionless.

Katelynn's eyes widened at the thought of Cal dying in the near future, it started to make her cry.

Peter: "What happens in the future?"

Paradox: "I cannot reveal much, you will know in time."

Hailey: "Then what's the point of you saying this now?" She asked, irritated.

Paradox: "You will know in time." He responded emotionless.

Then, he dropped a smoke bomb Paradox disappeared.

Peter: "I don't trust him."

Martha: "But he did save our lives."

Hailey: "Well, we're not gonna get anything done just by standing here."

Katelynn: "Right." Nods. "Let's keep moving."

PRESENT...

Katelynn would glance at Paradox and sometimes find him in different places from before. Paradox spotted something behind the trees. He soon found out that there were some Malfested monsters in the form of humans and a wolf.

Paradox: "Enemy spotted."

He draws out his sword and jumps off the tree right in front of Katelynn and Martha.

Paradox: "Hostile creatures are nearby, defend the princess."

Katelynn: "What are you-"

He quickly ran off towards the Malfested and slashed at one of the Malfested humans. One of them tried to defend himself but Paradox stabbed him swiftly with his sword singlehandedly. A Malfested wolf tried to pounce on Paradox, but he punched the wolf so hard he broke it's neck. Two Malfested humans raised their swords to strike at Paradox but he chopped off their arms with one slash and picked them up by their throats. As they struggled, he snapped their necks simultaneously and turned on the last Malfested human. It tried to stab him, but Paradox quickly disarmed him and used his sword against him by stabbing him from behind and lifting him up in the air. The Malfested human was holding on to the blade before dying. Paradox dropped the sword with the body. Examined his environment.

Paradox: "Targets neutralized." He said emotionless.

He then saw that one of the Malfested humans had a letter on them and looted it from the corpse. He read the letter and put it in his pockets. He then returned to the others as they had their weapons drawn.

Peter: "What's going on?"

Martha: "He said he saw enemies approaching."

Hailey: "What enemies?"

Paradox extended the letter to them.

Paradox: "These are kill orders."

Martha grabbed the letter and started reading it.

Paradox: "On the princess. By Ren."

Everyone looked up at Paradox with eyes wide open.

Hailey: "That bastard...he's the one who destroyed my village!"

Paradox: "About that...there was a point in time when your father sent you to search for your mother and little sister, correct?"

Hailey looked at him with confusion.

Hailey: "How do you know about that?"

Paradox: "I've been watching you for a long time now, hearing your conversations. Would you like to know of their fate?"

Hailey: "...What do you mean?"

Paradox: "They are alive." He said emotionless.

Hailey and Katelynn's eyes widen as they heard this. Katelynn slowly started to smile as Hailey was still shocked.

Hailey: "B-But how?! Where are they?" She asked quickly.

Paradox: "They are headed to another village. It is far from here, but they will survive."

Hailey falls to her knees and begins to cry I'm happiness.

Hailey: "I-I'm so glad...I thought I was all alone..."

Katelynn then hugs Hailey.

Katelynn: "You are never alone." She says with a smile as Hailey hugged back.

Paradox turns his back.

Paradox: "We must keep moving forward. You have a kingdom to reclaim."

Katelynn nods and helps Hailey back on her feet. As they pack up, Paradox stands by himself.

Paradox: 'And I have a mission to accomplish.' He thinks in his head.

Days pass by as they continue on their journey towards the Divinity Kingdom. One day, Katelynn was swimming with Hailey in a lake that they came by and started talking to each other.

Hailey: "Hey Katelynn."

Katelynn: "Yeah? What's up?"

Hailey: "I've been meaning to ask you, but who's Cal?"

Katelynn blushed a bit.

Katelynn: "Oh, he's one of my closest friends since we were in High School. He saved my life when I thought I had none...and not just mine, but he saved the whole school in fact."

Hailey: "Really? What's he like?"

Katelynn: "Well...he's kind, and brave, and smart, and strong, and handsome and-"

She started to blush deeply after saying that word and Hailey was raising an eyebrow with a smirk. Katelynn looked away as she covered her face and Hailey started laughing.

Hailey: "He sounds like a great guy, heh heh."

Katelynn nods.

Katelynn: "Yeah, he is."

Hailey: "So...do you like him?~" She teases Katelynn.

Katelynn starts splashing water at Hailey and they both laugh as they splash water on each other.

Paradox watches them from a tree and looks away and at Peter and Martha, which Peter was cooking their food while Martha was doing what seemed to be laundry.

Paradox: "They shouldn't be so care-free." He says emotionless.

He then spots a pack of wolves with Malfested human riders, and with them was a strange looking elf.

They were headed towards Katelynn and Hailey. He quickly leaped into action and teleported over the lake and hovered over the water, just in time when they made themselves known to Katelynn and Hailey. Hailey's eyes widened as she saw the elf.

Hailey: "F-Father?!" She shouted.

The Elf looked at Hailey, and then at Katelynn with an evil smile.

Hailey's father: "Kill the princess."

Paradox used a blast of wind to push back against the enemy.

Paradox: "Get out of here!" He shouts to Katelynn and Hailey.

Both Katelynn and Hailey quickly swam out of the lake, got their belongings and ran away. Paradox then charges towards the enemy by stabbing one of them with his sword and decapitated a Malfested Wolf. Hailey's father managed to slash at Paradox from behind, but he didn't flinch. Paradox knocked him aside with force that sent him towards the lake. He heard a Malfested human was about to strike at him from behind, but Paradox parried his attack and punched him to the ground before stomping on it. A wolf pounced on Paradox but he grabbed it by its neck and quickly broke it. While he was on the ground, Hailey's father jumped out of the lake and tried to decapitate Paradox but he quickly rolled out of the way.

Hailey's father: "You're pretty good." He said with a evil smile.

Paradox said nothing and attacked him from above, but he blocked it. Hailey's father then pushed him back and tried to stab him but Paradox moved out of the way and he ended up piercing through a tree. Before Paradox could land a blow, a Malfested human charged at Paradox and he caught on to blade with his free hand. He broke it but cutting it and then struck down the Malfested Human.

Hailey's father: "I have you now!"

He said as he was about to strike down at Paradox, but in a blink of an eye, Paradox kicked Hailey's father in the gut while in the air. He gasped for air and then grit his teeth at Paradox.

Hailey's father: "Who are you?"

Paradox didn't respond and started walking towards him. However, more Malfested creatures popped out, making Paradox stop.

Hailey's father: "Make sure he suffers!" He ordered them.

Paradox went into a battle form. Then a Malfested human rider charged towards Paradox, but before he could reach him, a knife was thrown and pierced the human's head. Then three people revealed themselves to them.

Yui: "Looks like you could use a hand."

Paradox: "Doubtful." He says emotionless.

Andrew: "Lets just take these guys down already!"

Andrew charged at the Malfested creatures with his werewolf speed and started beating them to a pulp.

Raven: "Save some for me!"

Raven swung her weapon at Human and then at a wolf, knocking them out. Yui then pulled out more knives and threw them at several foes. Paradox then looked around for Hailey's father, but disappeared from the battle.

Paradox: "Target has evaded termination." He said emotionless.

Peter and Martha showed up with their weapons drawn.

Martha: "How dare you come near our princess!" She said with anger.

Peter: "You won't get out of this alive!"

Within a few minutes, the battle was over and the group then put away their weapons except Paradox.

Yui: "Well that was fun." He chuckles.

Raven: "It went kinda quick too didn't it?"

Andrew nodded in agreement.

Martha and Peter approached them.

Peter: "Who are you? State your names."

Raven: "My name is Raven, daughter of Jakul the village leader." Presents Yui. "This is Yui, my brother."

Yui: "Greetings."

Martha looked at Andrew.

Martha: "You seem familiar. Have we met?"

Andrew looked at Martha and had a surprised face.

Andrew: "Wait...aren't you-"

Katelynn: "Andrew?!"

Everyone turned to see Katelynn and Hailey. Hailey had a shocked face as she saw Yui and Raven.

Hailey: "Raven? Yui?!"

Raven and Yui looked at Hailey and had a big smile on their faces.

Raven/Yui: "Hailey!"

They both ran at each other and hugged tightly.

Raven/Yui: "We thought you were dead!"

Hailey laughs as they continue to hug each other. Katelynn went to Andrew.

Katelynn: "Andrew! It's been awhile!" She said with a smile.

Andrew: "Yeah, it has. How've you been?"

Before Katelynn could respond, Paradox sheathed his weapon loudly to get their attention.

Paradox: "We have no time for this. We must get moving before more show up."

Hailey: "Again? But it's so soon..." She complains.

Peter: "He's right. We can't risk getting attacked again. Especially since Ren wants Katelynn dead."

Andrew, Yui's and Raven's eyes widened as they heard that name.

Andrew: "What are you guys doing that has something to deal with Ren?"

Paradox: "Ren wants the princess killed. For reasons, we will soon find out. Now, we must go."

Katelynn: "Wait!"

She turns to Andrew.

Katelynn: "Will you join us?"

Andrew looks at Yui and Raven. They all nod.

Andrew: "Yes, we will join you."

Hailey: "Yay!" She jumped up.

Martha: "Alright then, let's get going."

Everyone packs up and continues onwards, to complete Katelynn's quest and to find the Suvani crystal.
