Chapter 12:
Heyo! ^w^ I'm so so sorry I haven't updated in a while! I've had a bit of a writers block! However, I am trying to work through it and every moment I get that I have an idea or at least one metaphor, I work off it! Just like I did here!
I'm so so sorry if it's horrible! Comments and feedback is much appreciated though so please do so! I apologise in advance if this is a boring chapter, I really did try! But I promise the next chapter (which is most likely the last) will be better! I already know what I'm gonna write so get tissues ready!
Before you read, I suggest going into Spotify or even just YouTube and typing up 'Sad Piano' and listening to that while you read (if you can/want to). It just kinda makes it more dramatic and movie-like y'know? XD
Anyone please comment and give feedback! It's much appreciated! Enjoy!

Thunder clapped loudly as lightning roared viciously.
The escape pod grew closer and closer to Earth, the McDuck family's tears only growing more and more the further away they were from their saviour.
Finally, the escape pod collided with the Earths surface, sliding along the ground with great force.
Donald held Huey, Scrooge held Louie and Della held Dewey, all finally sharing their last tears.
"Is everyone ok?" Della asked silently, wiping away a lasting tear from her eye.
"We're all good, lass." Scrooge reassured her.
Scrooge couldn't even begin to imagine how Della must've felt, he knows how hard it's been for her the past 10 years, he knows all she wanted to do was return home to her family but he also knows she didn't want to do it like this.
Sacrificing another life just to save her own, that was something Della wished would never happen. If anyone were to be sacrificed she wanted it to be her and for her family. But yet this little girl she knew nothing of had saved her life and the life of her family without hesitation. Her bravery left a scar on Della's family as well as Della herself.
Scrooge sighed, leaning down at eye level with Louie. "Come on lad, let's go home." Scrooge stated, forcing the escape pod hatch open and holding an arm out towards him.
Louie paused, letting his self doubt consume him. Letting his regret and guilt take over as he once again silently dropped his head and fell down a pit of tears.
How could he let this happen? Webby was like a sister to him, how could he let her do that to herself? Louie knew she was a noble, loyal person, yes, but he never figured it would ever get this bad, he never thought she would ever really sacrifice her own life for others, let alone someone she never had a true connection to, someone she never knew until she stepped foot on that moon.
Truth be told, the thought of her sacrificing herself for her family had crossed his mind, but only for a split second. It never occurred to him that that horrifying thought, that petrifying nightmare would one day become reality.
Della saw her son falling down a hole of despair and immediately grabbed him, holding him close. "Honey, honey, shhh it'll be ok, I promise everything will be okay." She ushered, omg even knowing if she believed the words that escaped her mouth.
Oh how Louie so desperately wanted those words to enter his ears. His whole life he longed for someone to tell him it would be ok, he longed for someone to hold him and reassure him everything was fine, he longed for a break from the sadness. He longed for a mother.
However, he never thought he would have to suffer from such undying pain to hear those words, he never thought he would have to go through so much suffering and stress just to hear those reassuring words...
He never thought he would have to lose a sister to gain his mother.
Dewey, Huey, Donald and Scrooge looked on at the two in sympathy. They knew exactly how the little boy felt and they too wish the pain and suffering would end. They too wished the curse on the McDucks would come to an end.
Dewey's emotions spiralled all over, mixes of anger, regret, guilt, shame, sadness, confusion, spread all across his face. Turning around and pushing past Scrooge, he clenched his fists and viciously wiped the tears from his eyes, trying to contain them as he made him way back home.
Scrooge sighed, dropping his head and letting a tear slip his eye. His job was to protect his family, his job was to keep them from harm, his job was to protect her. To protect the one he swore to protect after the 'amnesia incident.' To protect the one he knew would go to unhealthy lengths to protect her loved ones.
Once again, he let his family down, he let himself down, he let Mrs Beakly down ...... he let her down.
Scrooge sat and watched as she sacrificed herself, as she gave up her life for a woman she didn't even know, a protective uncle, three bright triplets and a selfish old miser. He should've know she would pull a stunt like this, he should've waited, waited until everyone entered the escape pod before he did, he should've been the last one in, instead it seemed he valued himself more than his own family. A thought that had occurred to him after he lost Della. He blamed himself so much that the thoughts and names he threw at himself over the years he eventually began to believe. A forceful habit but a horrible one nonetheless.
Finally, Donald exited the escape pod with Huey, Della and louie trailing behind. They walked straight past Scrooge and towards the mansion, not a words escaped their mouths as they silently blamed him for yet another loss.
Can't they just all be together as a family again?! Is that too much to ask?!
Scrooge's heart clenched tightly in his chest, a feeling he had not felt since the disappearance of Della, a feeling he hoped he would never have to experience again.
Screaming, his knees hit the ground as he threw his top hat violently, clenching at his feathers atop his head. Tears spilled from his eyes. He had held this in for ten years, held this undying pain in his chest at bay, hoping it would leave him alone and never return again. After all, he had hope Della would return, he had hope he would see her again and that hope soon became reality, however, it never came to him that he would have to lose one of his own just to gain one of his own. It was true he was willing to get her back at any costs, however, he wanted to be the one to sacrifice himself for his family.
He should have known, he should have known something would go horribly wrong, they're McDucks! Something always goes wrong!
Scrooge's head met the ground as he cried, he cried harder than he did after the 'Spear of Selene'. He cried harder then he ever had before, screaming and clenching his fists tightly as his family only walked further and further away from him, towards their home.
All he could think about was the poor lass. There must have been a reason behind her sacrifice, something other than her loyalty to the McDuck clan and family. A reason why she said the things she did. A reason why she thought they would be better off without her. A reason for her sacrifice that Scrooge was ready to give. There must've been a reason for this bright warrior to give up so easily.
'I can't ...... I can't keep hurting you anymore.' Her voice replayed in his mind over and over again like a record player, the words she said engraved in his brain.
"Lass...... why?" He sobbed, looking up at the starry sky above him as more and more tears leaked from his eyes.
"I just ...... you're all so happy ...... I don't wanna ruin that."
Suddenly, something clicked in Scrooge's brain ... of course.
He froze, his tears still spilling from his eyes as his pupils shrunk. Both his hands slowly and shakily met his mouth. "No ..." He cried harder. "NO!" He screamed, banging the ground as the tears violently fell to the ground.
'You are not family!' Scrooge's own painful words, slid back through his mind. Webby feared she wasn't family due to these four simple words. Due to his action.
So much attention was on the Della incident, so much attention surrounded her survival, so much attention on getting her back and not enough attention of the little girl that had suffered through so much, the strong warrior who's walls had been broken for a long time, however, she hid behind a mask, hoping no one would realise.
This selfless little girl, sacrificed her life, her happiness, so everyone else could live happy lives. She forged a mask of happiness so strong that no one could see through it.
He should've known, he should've seen the pain in her eyes, he should've been the great uncle Webby needed.
He should've been there for her, should've apologised for his words that he knew hurt her. The poor girl knew nothing on her family, yet had no problem researching and helping the boys find the truth about their mother. The selfless bright warrior turned out to wear a mask to hide her pain, a mask she felt she had to forge due to the own problems happening within the ducks around her.
Scrooge lay on his hands and knees in puddles of tears. His entire body shook as tears sprung from his eyes and fell rapidly to the ground. "No..." He sobbed. "Not again..."
Scrooge found himself overcome with so many emotions, too many to handle, his heart began pumping faster and faster in his chest.
Everyone had left him all alone in the dark forest they had landed in. He was all alone with his dangerous thoughts, all alone with his harsh words, all alone with his harsh names.
"Webbigail ..." No answer, he was all alone. "Please come back ... I'm sorry, lass ...... I-I should've payed more attention to ye. P-Please ... give me a second chance. Please, lass. Come back ... I'm so so sorry ..." He cried harder, as if waiting for an answer, but alas, he was all alone.
"This is all my fault." He sobbed, trying to regain his strength, but only feeling more horrible. The more he tried, the more horrible he felt. He was all alone.
"Webbigail ... we miss ye bubbly positive attitude always shining light even in the darkest situations ... we miss ye crazy and fun personality ..." He chuckled. "We miss you, lass. Please come home." He cried, as if waiting for her to answer back, waiting for her to tell him she forgave him, waiting for her to complete their family. "Just say something ... please ...... tell me ye are okay ...... help me, lass ... please ... I'm terribly sorry I~" Scrooge struggled to even speak, a lump caught in his throat.
Finally, he gave up wishing, no one could survive space, the lack of oxygen, food and water and not to mention the crazy psycho moonlanders that were after her.
His hope of her truely being alive fell, as did he. He fell down the same pit hole he climbed out of after Della's disappearance. He finally got it all back, his family, his happiness, only to lose it all again.
All hope for Webby being alive vanished into thin air, along with part of Scrooge's life, his happiness.
Why? Why was the McDuck family cursed? Why them of all people? Why his family? Why her? Had she not suffered through enough?!
The tears kept coming, every time Scrooge believed the pain had gone away, it returned to haunt him for the rest of his life, to watch him suffer.
All was lost, Scrooge was all alone, all was gone, Scrooge was all alone, the only thing lurking was pain, guilt, regret and ......
"U-Uncle Scrooge?"
