Here's chapter 1. That is all.

You bounced off the head of one of the metal creatures and used your Spirit blade to slice apart a flying creature.

You landed and dodged to the side to avoid a blast from a crab before swiftly running at it and slashing it's pincers off.

You then proceeded to bash off of it into the air before one of the humanoid creatures could punch you and the resulting force of the bash caused the crab to explode along with the humanoid who was too close.

Once in the air you jammed your blade into a flying creature and tossed it into another one killing them both in an explosion before landing.

That took care of all the flying creatures, leaving only the mantids, humanoids and crabs.

There were very few of each left and soon the other spirits would be here.

Though if this was all they had, they're help wouldn't be required.

One of the Humanoids began looking around before glaring at you seemingly having gained some courage.

You glared at it, daring it to try anything.

Suddenly however, your ear twitched as you heard an odd noise behind you.

You turned and saw a green projectile heading straight for you at high speed.

Luckily your quick reflexes saved you as you jumped up and bashed off the projectile which redirected it towards the remaining creatures which gained looks of fear.

They were not fast enough as the projectile landed near them and exploded into green smoke.

You looked down at them and saw an odd green liquid had been left on the ground from the explosion and the creatures were now busy sinking and melting into it.

That projectile had acid in it.

As you gazed at them attempting to reach out in vain you had no chance to do anything as you heard another projectile coming towards you and this time you simply dodged to the side.

The projectile hit the ground behind you spilling more acide everywhere.

You looked to where the projectile came from to find who or what launched it and found...nothing.

There was nothing there.

You tilted your head in confusion and suddenly your instincts told you to move and so you immediately dodged to the side.

A small shockwave occurred on the place you once stood and a 3-toed footprint with multiple cracks around it was there as well.

You were extremely confused until you felt something smack you across chest sending you flying back into a tree.

It finally hit you the moment whatever that was also hit you.

Those projectiles were from something invisible along with the stomp and hit.

"Well this complicates things." You thought getting up and you immediately had to move as your invisible foe struck the tree showing it was strong enough to completely knock it over.

You manifested your light blade and swung at the spot in front of the tree only to hit thin air.

You then felt something wrap around you and lift you into the air.

Whatever it was a lot stronger than you and you struggled to get out of it's grip.

You were raised high and it felt as if whatever this thing was had the intention to slam you into the dirt.

You closed your eyes and braced for impact.

However, another odd noise made your ear twitch, you opened your eyes and saw some kind of strange blue orb had appeared out of nowhere and seemed to have struck something.

What it struck is what was holding you apparently as you felt whatever it was loosen it's grip setting you free.

You landed on the ground as the blue orb bounced off the invisible force as it turned visible allowing you to see it.

It was some sort of giant metallic Chameleon creature by the looks of it.

So it's invisiblity was merely camouflage.

The blue orb landed beside you and uncurled to reveal said orb was actually a being.

A blue Hedgehog by the looks of it.

Sonic:

The blue hedgehog gave you a smirk.

"Sup." He greeted casually giving a wink and salute furthering your confusion.

Who was this blue being?

He looked friendly enough and seemed to be here to help at least, but why?

Was he here the whole time?

You were snapped out of your thoughts by the blue hedgehog snapping his fingers in front of your face.

"Huh?" You asked raising your brow at him.

"Don't mean to interrupt your daydreaming buddy but..." He didn't finish and instead gestured towards the Chameleon which seemed to  have regained it's berrings.

It hissed at you both and you immediately rematerialized Spirit Edge and got into a fighting stance.

You'd have to question the blue hedgehog later.

The Chameleon turned invisible once more, that was a mistake.

You were thrown for a loop before, an invisible foe caught you off guard, but  now that you had an idea of what you were facing it wouldn't work again.

You closed your eyes, blocking out all noise to focus on trying to hear this Chameleon's footsteps.

The blue Hedgehog gave you a curious look, wondering what you were doing.

However, he soon got the message when you yelled out:

"MOVE!"

Both you and him jumped to the side to avoid a stomp from the Chameleon.

The Hedgehog curled into a ball once again and rammed himself ahead not knowing what part of the Chameleon he'd hit, but he knew he'd hit something.

Luckily, he struck the moment he struck the beast it turned visible revealing the Hedgehog had hit it right in the head.

The Chameleon flinched to the side which gave you the perfect opportunity to bash off of it into the air.

You then immediately stomped downwards directly onto it's head doing a lot of damage.

The Chameleon immediately jerked it's head upwards launching you off it.

You landed on the ground and glared up at the Chameleon who let out an enraged screech.

This took it's attention off the Hedgehog who ran under it and rammed into one of it's limbs knocking it down.

The Hedgehog skidded to a halt next to you.

"Not bad." The Hedgehog complimented. "The name's Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog."

He introduced himself and you smiled a bit as it seems this Hedgehog really was friendly at least judging from the way he spoke.

"My name's Ori, but I prefer (Y/N) if you don't mind." You replied with a light wave.

"Well, it's nice to meet ya (Y/N)." Sonic replied with a thumbs up.

"Likewise." You replied with a nod.

The both of you would have to talk later as the Chameleon suddenly launched it's tongue out at you all.

You dodged to the side while Sonic jumped over it and the Chameleon got it's tongue's claw jammed onto the ground.

Sonic landed on it's tongue and using it as a runway ran up directly into it's face and delivered a hard kick to it's nose.

This made it lurch back and got it's tongue unstuck.

The Chameleon jumped back as Sonic landed beside you.

The Chameleon hissed as it's 2 horns began glowing intensely.

Knowing whatever was gonna happen next wouldn't be good you ran in front of Sonic as the Chameleon fired out a bright green orb of energy directly at you both.

You jumped up and bashed it back at the Chameleon who dodged it's returned projectile.

It hunched down and some kind of odd cannon rose from it's back and launched a familiar projectile at you both.

It was the same acid-filled projectile that melted the other creatures.

Knowing that even if you both dodged it, with the acid it will leave on the ground it will limit where you both can move.

So you bashed the projectile back at it forcing it to dodged lest it be melted by it's own attack.

That projectile was indeed filled with acid as it left another puddle.

The Chameleon got ready to fire again, but thankfully your new ally seemed to understand how dangerous those acid bombs were as Sonic was now high into the air and curled into a ball.

The Hedgehog then rammed himself directly into the cannon that would fire another acid bomb.

This resulted in the cannon sparking which eventually resulted in a small explosion.

Sonic ricocheted back after the explosion and uncurled in the air giving the beast a cocky grin.

The Chameleon quickly recovered and launched it's tongue out at Sonic and Sonic quickly got snatched by the claw on the tip of it's tongue.

"Whoa!" Sonic yelled as the Chameleon then attempted to reel him back to perform a follow up.

You reacted quickly however and used your light blade to slash at the tongue completely severing it.

The claw let go of the Hedgehog allowing Sonic to land safely and the Chameleon let out a screech of absolute agony.

It thrashed around, it's severed tongue spraying an odd green liquid everywhere.

"Dang, that's pretty gruesome, even if it is a robot." Sonic a little disturbed as the Chameleon seemingly panted in agony after calming down.

You wasted no time and ran directly for the beast who shot multiple orbs of energy directly at you.

You easily bashed off of them continuing to close the distance.

When you got close enough the Chameleon turned invisible and dodged your strike.

Thanks to your hearing however, you heard it's footsteps and launched yourself in it's direction and delivered a hard slash in it's direction making it turn visible.

It immediately turned however and smacked you away with it's tail making you skidd across the ground.

You backflipped on to your feet and charged at the beast again despite the immense pain you were in from that.

The Chameleon was once again distracted allowing Sonic to spindash into it's side making it skidd along the ground.

It just as quickly smacked Sonic aside with it's tail however which allowed you to get close and jam your blade directly into it's eye.

The Beast jerked it's head and screeched which flung you into the air.

You quickly corrected your position as Sonic jumped into the air towards you.

You quickly bashed Sonic downward striking the Chameleon's head with extreme force breaking it's horns off.

Sonic landed while the Chameleon was disoriented and you stomped down hard on it's head once again.

This time however, you also plunged your blade directly into it's head.

The Chameleon desperately attempted to shake you off but you held on and pushed it in further and keeping your balance you began running on the beast's back dragging your blade along slicing it in half as you ran.

When you reached the tip of the Chameleon's tail you pulled your blade out and backflipped back onto the ground in front of it.

The Chameleon stopped screeching and just stood there for a brief moment before splitting in half.

Both halves of it fell and after a few seconds it exploded.

You let out a sigh of relief, standing straight as your blade vanished from your hand.

"Hey." Sonic yelled getting your attention as he walked up to you. "Not bad at all."

He raised his hand and you smiled before giving the Hedgehog a high-five.

"Thanks for helping me out." You stated gratefully.

"Hey no problem, I didn't think you needed help since you were doing fine on your own." Sonic chuckled. "Then that Rusty Reptile came and it looked like you could use a hand."

"So he was here for a while." You thought before shrugging.

"I still do appreciate it though." You sighed before examining the carnage around you.

You were very confused over the events that just transpired.

You looked back at Sonic curiously and crossed your arms.

"Sonic...do you mind if I ask a few questions?" You asked.

"Sure, I figured you'd want an explanation." He replied.

Before you could begin asking any questions, you heard what sounded like a stampede coming your way.

You and Sonic turned to see a horde of Spirits led by Pera leap out into the clearing ready for a fight.

However, they immediately gained confused looks when they saw the wreckage everywhere and Sonic.

You placed your hands on your hips and glared at Pera who flinched back.

"Well you all took your sweet time." You stated sternly.

Pera looked down in shame.

"Forgive us Ori, it took a while to gather everyone as those same creatures weren't just here." Pera explained. "We were forced to deal with quite a few before we could come and help."

You raised your hand to stop her.

"It's fine, thanks to Sonic over here I had all the help I needed." You stated gesturing to the blue Hedgehog who waved at Pera and the Spirits.

"Ori, who is..." Pera tried to say.

"He's a friend and a guest." You replied smiling at him.

You walked up to Pera.

"You and the Spirits go search around Nibel and see if there are any other of these creatures around." You ordered. "I wanna talk to Sonic about what just happened, I'm sure he'll be able to explain."

Pera nodded and saluted along with the other Spirits before running off into the Forest leaving you and Sonic alone.

You turned to him and said:

"I'm sure you have questions too." You said with a sigh.

It was obvious Sonic was a newcomer here and most likely had no idea what was going on.

The Blue Hedgehog nodded in response.

"But before I answer any of your questions, I need you to at least answer these two." You requested.

"I'll do my best." He shrugged and you nodded.

"Where are you from and how did you get here?"
