(Sorry, this is kind of a filler)

Will POV

Artemis made his way up my leg, digging his miniscule claws in while doing so. I spooned the rest of my cereal into my mouth before picking him up and putting him by his blue food dish. I watched as he eagerly dug in.

We had gone and officially adopted the kitty yesterday, named him Artemis, and got him a black collar with a small yellow stud in the middle. Along with it, a blue plush bed, cat food, and a litter box. We also got him checked for any diseases.

I gently stroked his soft fur and he purred contently and rubbed against my hand.

My dad walked in, tugging on a pair of shoes and grabbing his car keys. "I'm going to the grocery store, I'll be back in a bit. Ok?" I nodded. "Linda's going to be here in a bit and I won't be too long."

Linda was the middle aged maid we had hired a few years back. She used to look after me when I was younger and my dad wasn't home. She was really nice, made amazing food, and she was even willing to move in with us here in New York.

As my Dad's car drove off, Artemis yawned and blinked blearily. I gently picked him up and by the time I got to his bed, he was already asleep. I internally cooed and put him down in his bed and wrapped the little blanket around him.

I turned the TV on and started watching some Big Bang Theory. When I finished an episode the doorbell rang.

I answered it and was greeted with a hug from Linda.

"Oh, you grew so much William!" She smiled up at me. I chuckled, genuinely happy to have her here. I gave her some tea and took her stuff to the spare room.

I sat down and we talked about each of our summers and anything remotely exciting that happened. It honestly felt good to just see her. She was and is like a mother to me.

And I could really use someone like that.
