There's no choice (5)
ARU PUSHED their prisoner into the interrogation room. They fell in hump onto the floor and groaned at the pain.
"Shut up. You're not allowed to make noise until we say so. Anything you say can and will be used against you." Aru clicked her pen and took out a notepad.
"Girl, it's not even falling that I'm in pain about. It's the fact you kicked me and my head hurts and that when you pushed me your many rings poked my back"
"Detective Acharya, remind me. Did either of us tell him he could talk?" Aru walked toward the prisoner.
Aiden looked startled a little, but regained composure fast. "No. Absolutely not."
She slapped her hand that was full of rings on the person's back as they screamed in pain. Aiden pulled them up, sat them on a chair and kept the hands behind it. He locked the handcuffs and sat on a chair opposite. Aru sat as well, clicking her pen.
"Let's start with this. What's your name?" Aiden asked in a hard voice. 'Interrogation is definitely his strength' Aru thought to herself as she stared at the prisoner's face.
"Chris" They said, eyes wandering a bit.
"Wrong, try again" Aru wrote down a tally in the lie count. She got up and walked toward him, brandishing her ring hand. The person looked at her with fear and then admitted.
"Kristen"
She checked his face. "Repeat"
"Kristen" they repeated. Fear was on their face but they were not lying.
Aru sat back down. "It's the truth. Continue the interrogation"
"Gender?"
"Male"
"Age?"
"34"
Aru jotted down Kristen, Male, 34.
"Now. Do you work for the Sleeper?"
"Yes, but he hardly knows me. I know nothing"
Aru searched his face. "Truth again. Continue"
"Do you know anyone who he trusts?"
"Yes. A girl called Solis"
"Her name's Solis?" Aiden asked.
"Yes. Well, I mean no. No one knows"
"Do you know her personally?"
"No"
Aru searched his face. She wrote a tally in the lie count. "You lie"
This time, Aru took out a gun. "One more lie and this goes to your head"
"I do, I do! But she's my commander that's all. No personal connection."
Aiden looked to her for confirmation. She searched the face thoroughly and then just nodded.
"Where is the base?"
"I don't know"
Aru put another tally on the lie counter and picked up her gun. Kristen looked at it in fear as Aru walked over and held him at gunpoint.
"Take my notepad and pen, note down the address" Aru instructed him. He did just that as Kristen stuttered out the address in fear.
Aiden shook his head. "I cannot understand that"
Aru dug the gun deeper into his head. "You have your phone with you?"
"Y-y-yes. It has the address in notes, there's a fake one and a real one wh-where it's l-l-labled"
She swiped it out of his pocket. It was dirty and grimy.
"Ew, clean your phone dude, yuck" Aru muttered. Sure enough, the address was there.
"Acharya, note this down. Bellington street, 334978. In a dark alleyway, there is a street lamp, swipe an ID and the entrance will open up"
He noted it down.
No one said anything for awhile and Aru concluded that the interrogation was over. For now.
"We'll discuss about you. Acharya, call for guards"
He called the guards and they arrived.
"Orders, ma'am?"
"Take him to a secure dungeon. Someone should watch him at all times, day and night. Do not let him escape"
They stomped their right foot, saluted her and took the prisoner away. As the footsteps grew quieter and farther away, Aiden let out a huge sigh. He interlaced his fingers and rested his head onto them.
"Let's discuss the plan" he said finally.
"Mhm" Aru rested her chin on the palm of her hand. Aiden looked at her curiously.
"How did you figure out whether he was a liar or not?"
She chuckled, and looked to the closed window. "You know what they say. Takes one to know one" Aru turned back to him.
"You seem really tired. Wanna discuss tomorrow?" He asked.
"No, let's do it today. First of all, we need to meet Solis. But before that, we need to get a secure way to the base"
"What do you suggest?"
"I suggest hacking the system" Aru took out her office phone. She tapped the contact and typed 'are u free' ferociously one handedly.
"That works. I'm guessing you know someone?" He observed her typing.
'Yes. I'm free. What do you need?'
She gave a sigh of relief and typed back 'I'm gonna swing to the tech department's office in a bit, I'll explain there. I need you to come here'
Aru glanced up at him.
"Yep"

The next day, Aru opened the office door. She saw the 19 year old tech expert herself and of course, Mini.
"Hi" She waved.
"Hi Aru. And Detective Acharya" Mini smiled to both of them.
"Just Aiden's fine, really" Aiden smiled back while Aru walked over to where they were standing.
"This better be important. We flew all the way over here for this"
"We need a secure connection to the Sleeper's base" Aru explained the plan.
"Gotcha. I can do that" Sheela smiled. Aru shook her head.
"We need it to be secure and they cannot find out about it. Can you do that?"
"Yep" Sheela spun onto the chair and beckoned them over. They huddled around her and the screen.
"I'm kind of surprised how fast we're going" Aiden spoke.
"Yeah. This is a bit fast?" Mini asked. "I mean, it shouldn't be this easy"
"We got lucky with the hotel spy" Aru admitted.
"Guys. This won't be that easy" Sheela was typing fast. "The Sleeper's system's super secure"
"Just try your best" Aiden encouraged, smiling at her.
"Okay. I can do that"
"Mini, do you mind finding this address?" Aru handed her the note.
"Yeah. But Aru, are you sure about this?" Mini asked her.
"Nope. But we have to try"
'We need to. There's no choice'
Chapter 5 is out. Whatcha think?
And wow, look at me updating exactly a week later. If this keeps it up, I'll update regularly. One update a week.
I hope that keeps up, but I suggest you don't get your hopes up, there's a high chance that won't happen.
Anyways, thank you so much for reading the chap!
