Chapter 67

Severide's pov
Casey and I are downstairs enjoying a beer when the furniture arrives. We tell them what room to put it in and then get to work rearranging and putting things together. We are almost finished when we hear screaming. "Aaaaah Aaaaah Nooo Aaaaah!!" I look at Casey " what was that man?" As Casey runs out of the room down to his and Gabby's. I'm up and on his heal within seconds. I see Gabby thrashing around on the bed as Mat runs to her.

Casey's pov
I run to my room and see Gabby thrashing around and screaming. I run to her and wake her. "Gabby gabby you're okay I'm here now you're safe. I've got you. " I say pulling her in to me and rubbing her back as she sobbed into my chest. I look up and see Severide. I mouth "she's okay I'll be back in a bit." As he heads back to the nursery. I just sit and hold gabby. "When will it stop. I can't take it anymore" she sobs. "So baby soon I hope. I'm gonna talk to chief to see if you can stay at the firehouse with me over night when I work. You seem to have less nightmares when I'm around. I don't think he'll mind." I say. "I could cook meals for you all at least dinner because you know Cruz and his cooking." I say with a little laugh. "Why don't you get up and go take a nice relaxing bath. While Severide and finish up the baby's room." I say as I kiss her and head back to the nursery.

Severide's pov
"Hey man. That was pretty scary she okay. " I say. "Yeah she's okay. It's tough. She still having nightmares. Especially when I'm not around. She's been seeing someone for it but not major breakthroughs yet. I'm gonna see if she can stay at the firehouse at night when I'm on shift. " he says. "Let's finish up here we can surprise Dawson with the finish room I think it will do her good. " I say. "How are things with Brett?" "There good I plan on taking her out in a few days. I really think we have a chance at a future". I say. We finish up, by the time we are done Gabby's out of the bath.

Gabby's pov
I knock on the door to the nursery that's closed. " can I come in " I say "once sec" I hear Mat say. About a minute later he and Severide open the door. "Awe Mat it's beautiful. I love it. Thanks Severide for helping" I say hugging him then go and kiss Mat.
