2 months later

Dawson's pov
I wake up to being in Casey's arms. I hear that is pouring rain outside. We have today off and all I wanna do is lay in bed next to Casey. I turn towards him as I say "I wanna stay in bed all day with you. It's a blah day out. And I'm not feeling all to hot. Baby's got momma's system all messed up." I say. Mat leans in and kisses my head "come here we can stay in bed as long as you want. Today is all you. " he says. The rain is pouring down and now thunder and lightning out. "The baby is very active I don't think he or she likes the thunder " I say as I put Mats hand over my belly. He leans in and kisses my belly and says "it's okay your daddy's here I'll protect you."

Casey's pov
Gabby and I are laying in bed when I hear a big Thunder crash. The lights flicker and the power goes out. "Ill. Be right back in gonna go start the back up generator. You say here and sleep. I say as I kiss her. I head out back to start the generator. It takes me a while but I finally got it going. I head back inside and up to bed and see Gabby sound asleep. I cover her up and go make us some breakfast. I let her sleep as long as possible since we have shift tomorrow.

Dawson's pov
Im getting ready for shift when I tell Casey I have a doctors appointment later today. 3pm chief's letting me leave for the appointment. If we don't have any calls I bet he'll let you leave." I say "I can meet you there. I'll get Herrmann to cover as lieutenant." Mat says. We head off to shift I meet Shay out front we wait for Brett and then stock the ambo. We just finished up as the alarm goes off.
