Gabby's pov.
I walk into work with Mat. Before we part we kiss. "Stay safe" Mat says. "You keep your badge off the wall" I say pulling him in by the collar of his shirt giving him one last kiss. We head our separate ways. I go to the common room and he goes to his office. I grab my coffee and sit down at the table. My phone buzzes about 5 hours later.

G- hey mom what's up. Is Jace okay
DM- yeah Honey hes fine hes been asking for daddy all morning. I was wondering if we could stop by just for a bit.
G- yeah that be fine Mat would love that I won't tell him. So you can surprise him.
DM- great we'll be by in an hour or two after his nap.
G- see you then.

I hang up the phone as Mat walks in. "Who was that on the phone?" Mat asks " no one just a wrong number" I say. As the alarm goes off
