Shays pov
I walk into the firehouse and see Burke cooking breakfast. She's a really good cook. "It smells amazing" I say walking up to her. "Thanks it will be ready in 10 minutes." She says as I walk off to the locker room to change out. I run into dawson who is also changing out. "So Kelly is officially moved in with Brett." I say to her. "Really that's great they make a cute couple." She says. We finish changing out at go fill up the rig with gas.

Gabbys pov
The day is going very slow. We've only had one ambo call and 2 house fires that were very minimal damage. I'm lying on my cot when I decide to get up and head to the common room. I see Mat sitting at the head of the table reading the paper. I grab a cup of coffee, walk over and sit down next to him. He looks up from the paper and gives me a wink. About 10 minutes later the alarm goes off.

Ambulance 61 baby in distress high fever 8642 Waverland Ave.

I get up fast but then freeze after hearing the address. I can't move. "Mat Mat" I say flaying my hand trying find his hand to hold. "That's our house I say in a worried voice. I somehow manage to find my strength to move again and jump in the rig with Brett and Shay. "I'm coming with you." Casey says calling after me and hops in the back of the rig. We head off sirens blaring. My phone rings and I am to scared to answer it. So I hand it to Casey. "We're on our way. Hold tight the ambo will be there soon " I hear him say. We pull up to the house an hop out. "Jace!! baby!!" I say running in. I find my baby really pale looking and screaming blood murder. "What was her last temperature?" I ask my mom "100.6" I stand frozen again as Mat comes up behind me and hugs me. "Everything will be alright. He'll be fine." He says to me. Shay takes his temperature. "102 that's to high for a baby. Will give him something to get the fever down." Shay says. "I knew I should of taken him in sooner it's ally fault." I say crying. "Babe is not your fault. Come on let's go you can hold him in the ambo." I say as she picks up Jace from her mom and sits on the stretcher in the ambo.
