Dawson's mom's pov
I get to the hospital and ask the receptionist what room Mathew Caseys in. She tells me room 284. I walk in to see my daughters head resting on the bed and holding Mats hand. I quietly walk in trying not to make any noise to wake her or Jace but she hears me anyways. "Morning how's he doing any change?" I ask her. "No, no change. How was Jace for you? She asks. He was good only had me up twice last night. But he misses his mommy." I say as she goes and picks him up. Come here little man mommy missed you too." She says. We talk for a little longer while I comfort her and her everything will be okay.

Gabby pov
It was nice that my mom to Jace for the night. I would of been more of a mess with him here and he doesn't need that from me. Even though he's almost 2 months old. "Hey little monkey I know you don't understand me yet but daddy got hurt. He's going to be okay know that your here. I'll lay you next to daddy so you can comfort him." I Say. About 10 minutes later Jace's gets fussy. So I feed him. Severide walks in just as I finish burping Jace. "Hey how is he? How are you?" He says to me. "No change for Mat and I'm hanging in there. I'll let you stay here while Jace and I go get a bite to eat" I say to him as I kiss Mat on the forehead and walk out.

Severide's pov
It's a dangerous job we do but we love it and I know Casey loves it. There's always the risk that you won't make it. I pull up a chair to his bedside. A tear starts to fall as I speak. "I know you can't hear me buddy but you gotta wake up. Your wedding is in a month. Dawson and Jace need you. I need you. I Plan on proposing to Sylvie soon and I need your help picking out the ring. Plus I need you to be well so you can be my best man" I say I stay with him till Dawson gets back just in case he wakes up.
