At the hospital

Dawson's pov
Casey's been in surgery for 2 hours and we still don't have an update. The whole house is here since chief took us out of commission for a while. I'm pacing around the waiting room when the nurse comes back to give an update. "Family of Mathew Casey" nurse says. I walk fast up to her. "I'm his fiancee. how is he?" I ask. "He's stable for now but it could change. He hit his head when he feel through the floor and the beam came down. He also has some broken ribs. Recover is gonna be a long process. He'll be out of work for a month. You can visit him room 284. Two at a time please." The nurse says "You go be with him will come in about an hour" Herrmann says as I rush back to his room.

Casey's room

Dawson's pov
I walk into his room seeing him so still my heart sinks. I pull up a chair and sit next to him. "Hey babe you gotta wake up. Me and Jace we really need you. I can't do this on my own" I say crying. I just sit there holding his hand hoping he'd wake up. About 30 minutes later Herrmann and Severide walk in. "How's he doing?" They ask. "Nurse says still no change they don't know when he'll wake up." I say holding back tears. I stay will Casey all night I don't wanna leave his side. I know visiting hours are over but they let me stay the night. I'd called my mom told her what happened and to keep Jace for the night. She said she would bring him by in the am.
