Dawson's pov
It's rolling boys I hear Casey say over the radio. We pull up to the fire and I can tell it's going to be bad. The building is engulfed in flames. Shay and I hop out and get the stretcher out of the back. Just as we finish we hear a lady screaming you have to save him. I say mam save who where is he. She replies hes trapped on the third floor. Casey we got a kid traped on the third floor I say to him. Copy that Casey says. Next thing i hear is Dawson get the backboard ready I'm sending him out with Herman. Shay start CPR I'll get the monitor I say. Hes crashing, shocking at 100 everybody clear, everyone steps back still no rhythm I shock him again at 200. We got a rhythm I hear Shay say. Alright let's load him up. That's just one of the scenes we've been on. I should probably take you back to the beginning.

My name is Gabriela Dawson. I'm the pic on ambulance 61 at firehouse 51. I've been there for 6 years. I work with some of the best people and I get to call them my family. It took me a few years to get to pic. First there's EMT basic then EMT intermediate, next paramedic then pic which stands for paramedic in charge. And one day I hope to be a firefighter. Thank you Gabriella Dawson for your take on being a paramedic I hear the commentator say as I walk off the stage.

Back at the firehouse

Dawson pov
I arrive back at the firehouse to find it quite they must still be out on a call. I go in and decided to make dinner for the crew. Spicy chicken with all the fixings. As I'm finishing up dinner the guys are back from their call. I look up and see Casey walk in. He ask me how my presentation on being an paramedic went with the HS kids. It went great I tell him. Chows up I call everyone come rushing in. I can tell they are all hungry. People are shoving to be first in line. Cut it out guys there's plenty for all of you I say. Right in the middle of dinner the alarm goes off.

Ambulance 61 man unconscious corner of Wilson road and Jones rd. We pull up to the scene where are a man lying on the ground. We pull the stretcher out of the back. Shay and i run over to see if the man is breathing. Shay leans down hes got a pulse let's get him to Chicago Med. She says. We load him up I call ahead to Med to let them know what's going on. Once there we hand the patient over to a nurse and go fill out paperwork before we leave.

On our way back to the station Shay turns to me and say so what's with you and Casey. I give her a strange look what do you mean we're just friends really good friends. What's with you and that new girl I saw you with last night at Molly's. No changing the subject Shay says. Fine I wouldn't mind going out with Casey it's just complicated you know he and Hallie broke up a month ago after she decided to call it quits I say. Just then we arrive back at the house as I jump out of the ambulance Casey comes up to me with a big smile. That was a fast call he says. I smile back at him "yeah man was breathing so we just had to transport him" I say as we walk back inside.
