Spottedkit glanced over her shoulder to see Cloudreed walking towards Thislestar's den. ' I hope he's going to talk to Thislestar about him being my mentor!', thought Spottedkit. Cloudreed walked out of the leader's den and headed towards Spottedkit," Good news!" said Cloudreed, " Your apprentice ceremony will begin soon! I've got to go and tell your mother and Dovefoot to get you all ready." he finished as he hurried off to the nursery. Spottedkit followed in after him.

Dovefoot and Ottertail led the kits into the clearing as Thislestar called the meeting. As they settled down, Thislestar started. " All cats old enough to swin gather here beneath the HighRock for a clan meeting! It is time for the youngest members of our clan to become apprentices."Talonkit, please step forward. From this day forward, until he earns his Warrior name, he will be known as Talonpaw. Fangtail, with your strength and determination to defend this clan, you will be Talonpaw's mentor. And I expect you will pass down all your knowledge and skills to this young apprentice."  

*** "Now you, Stonekit. From this day on, until he recieves his Warrior name, he shall be known as Stonepaw. Clawpelt, with your loyalty and courage, you will be Stonepaw's mentor. I expect you to pass down all your knowledge to this young apprentice," then he rested his head on Stonepaw's as he gently licked his leader's shoulder politely. " Last, but definatly not least, Spottedkit. From this day forward, until she earns her warrior name, she shall be known as Spottedpaw. So your mentor is going to be," I hope he says Cloudreed!!!!!, thought Spottedkit nervously. " ...Cloudreed" finished Thislestar. Spottedkit almost exploaded with happiness. She couldn't belive her mentor was going to be Cloudreed! Then he bent his head down to lay it on Spottedpaw's, then she licked his shoulder respectfully. Wow! I can't believe this is ACTUALLY happe-... then the clan snapped her out of her thoughts. " Talonpaw! Ravenpaw! Cedarpaw! Barkpaw! Stonepaw! Spottedpaw!" they cheered. After the clan quieted down, Spottedpaw raced over to her mentor. " Can we take a tour of the territory?" asked Spottedpaw excitedly. " Of course!" mewed Cloudreed, " But first I'm going to inform Thislestar where we are going. Ok?" " Alright!" meowed Spottedpaw. She was very excited to see the territory. "I can't wait to see the WHOLE territory!" Squealed Spottedpaw to her brother, Stonepaw. "Calm down you two!" laughed Fangtail, "Why don't we sit down and eat before we go, we've got time." Spottedpaw was to excited to eat but she didn't want to pick ticks off the elders on her first day of being an apprentice.

"Wow! Can we fish? No! Can we go for a swim? Wait!! I want to-"

"Slllow down!" Meowed Cloudreed, as he emerged from the leader's den, " We're good to go, let's eat first." he said as the headed for the Fresh-kill pile.
