Latula's POV

It was after school on Thursday. I get out of the bus like usual and go over to the door. I was about to open it till the other side gets opened by Terezi.

She squeals.

"Damn it Redglare!! We should of left earlier!" Terezi groans. I notice she is in her special hiking suit with her special walking stick. After I took that look I could tell what was going on.

Redglare follows behind her with her special outfit as well. I see Red behind her with a leash hooked to his collar.

I tilt my head at them," What? Why? ".

Redglare sighed," I told you she was going to come along too! I wasn't going to give you all the money. No matter what I was going to split it."

" What money ", I ask.

" No!!!!! " Terezi whines.

I laugh,"If there is money evolved I am like totes doing it"

" No!!!! No!!!! No!!!! " Terezi keeps going.

Redglare glares at Terezi," Yes you are coming and getting money... ".

Terezi groaned," Fiddles, fine! "

"Good.", Redglare pats Terezi's head calmly," Latula, what I was planning to do was bribe you guys with money-".

" Bribe us because??? ", I interrupt, clenching my backpack behind me. My skateboard was under my other arm.

Redglare rubs her sinuses with stress," You did not let me finish, Latula. "

I nod.

" So, I was hoping we could go for a hike today together. Red needs the workout as much as both of you do. Now, I have bribing money if you would like to tag along. I thought it would be something fun we all could do together ", Redglare points out, letting me come inside the house to get my things all settled and put down.

Terezi and her wait as I put everything down and fine. I lay my backpack by the door when I am done but Redglare stops me. She looks at my skateboard.

I chuckle nervously and try to make it not that big of a deal. " Why can't I skate there? "I blurt out to my older sister.

Redglare looked annoyed by me," Terezi and I are walking and I think it would be rude if you skateboarded unlike us. I am bribing a pretty good amount of money for this time together. "

Terezi taps Redglares shoulder. She turns to her.

" Umm I do not want to be a talker-backer person but Red, the dog, is walking too... " Terezi giggles in Redglare's ear. I set my skateboard inside, carefully so nothing bad happens to it.

Redglare groans and looks back at Terezi with an "Are you kidding me" face. I take my hiking backpack real quickly and throw it over my back. It didn't really have much in it.

Next I walk out the door as they close and lock it. We all get in the car as Redglare starts it up and we take off to the forest.

Finally, Redglare stops the car and opens our doors to let us out. Red drops down as well.

Redglare locks the doors with her keys, which I still thought was rad to this day but I don't mention it. Terezi was taking a quick stroll around with her walking stick to get the gist of the place.

I could see a dirt trail not far from us. I actually haven't been here before but I could tell that was the trail we were going to walk on.

The path looked so freaking skate-able like omg. It was so flat and more smooth than a normal dirt trail. I probably would of grabbed a large, flat log and a pair of four pinecones if Redglare wasn't watching. Then I would make some sort of whole-made skateboard like in one of those imaginary cartoons or survival shows.

Even though I didn't even know how to work with tools at all. Thinking about all of this started to remind me of Horuss, whom is a master at tools and working with them. But he was nowhere near here at all, probably working on miniature robots with his younger brother.

Terezi begins to wander off with her walking stick. Probably detecting new smells or something weird like that. I could of pulled her back and told her to stay like a great sister, but nah.

I have helped my little sis far too many times. Way far. No matter what I would get in trouble along with her, but I always deal with it. Not helping her one time would be a thing to see. All I had to do is wait.

Redglare comes over to me once she is fully ready. While she came, she spoke. " Alright! I am ready, are we all ready too? ", Redglare stops and smiles. I stay still, calmly to wait till she notices.

Which didn't take too long.

Redglare turns a little pale," Where- Where is Terezi. ". Redglare's voice hesitates. I shrug in response. Her eyes beneath her glasses dart around and then she stops at me. Directly at me.

She didn't look too happy.

Her eyes squinted and she pointed at me. " Why didn't you watch her. ", Redglare murmurs.

It was silent for a couple of moments. I could only feel the soft breeze and chirping of the birds from afar. All was silent.

" You should of watched her!!!! " Redglare points out with rage. She inquired this right out of the blue. This scared me.

I wait for her to give me a long lecture or maybe to ban me from skateboarding again. I look over to where I last saw Terezi sniffing and wandering around.

She was gone. No longer there.

A lump in my thought formed as I was unable to respond to her for anything. I should of watched her or taken her back to me. Like a good sister. Which I probably wasn't at the moment.

Although, instead of hearing anything I thought was going to be said, I heard a loud scream. Not from me, but from Redglare.

I look up at Redglare's shoulder once o was able to give her eye contact again. Was that-

Terezi was on Redglare's back, laughing like crazy. She begins to speak," Heyyyy what is going on here??? " Terezi cackles and hops down. All of my nervousness goes away.

I see her walking stick lying on the ground beside where she stood at the moment. She picks it up softly and snickers.

Redglare's face was as red as a cherry from rage, and glared from the sunlight. I wasn't even trying to make a simple pun, I was being quite honest.

She wanted to yell at Terezi but something was stopping her. Probably guilt from getting mad at me. Maybe just because she didn't want any fighting on this walk. At least I wasn't in trouble anymore.

Redglare takes a tired sigh and most likely pretends none of that just happened. A smile is replaced with her frown automatically.

" Anyways, are we ready to start walking? ", Redglare says with cheer and excitement.

We feel relived we aren't in trouble and nod along with her. Phew.

" Okay, I got the map screenshot on my phone so we don't get lost. Even though we PROBABLY won't have anyone wander off the trail. " Redglare takes a sharp stare at Terezi for a moment. My little sister nods in agreeing. Although we all knew she may not live up to that promise.

Terezi skips as I slowly walk, feeling heavy on my feet. I usually didn't walk much because of skateboarding, so this could be a real challenge for me.

Redglare walked with pride and proudness. I thought she was overdoing it but it wasn't my deal.

I looked up at all of the trees above us. I saw all of the detail in the leaves and shading. The sun shone onto the ground with beauty. The wind blew the tree around to make it look magnificent. Birds flew and chirped, all conversing with each other. Everything, was so- radical.

It kinda made me feel lucky.

I never was blind, and I probably couldn't imagine the feeling of just not being able to see this. All of the nature shown before me, while it couldn't for my little sister. I bet she hated being blind, although she always seemed so happy all the time. But I acted happy all the time as well.

Turning around, I see her giggling to herself, hopping around like her adorable idiot sister self. Well I wouldn't say idiot, but she IS my little sis.

Having not facing forward, I bump into someone. My glasses fall off onto the ground.

Damn it.

I cover my eyes with my hand and get out of the way. Although, I could sense the person still standing there. I could of guessed who it was by her voice if it wasn't for Terezi yelling her name out.

" Oh! Hello Latula. My apologies for bumping into you. I am just quite into this book. " My friend speaks in a nice manner.

" Sup A- " I begin to say, stopping from my glasses search for a moment.

Terezi runs over and probably tackle hugs her. " Aranea!!!!!! >:] " she screams with excitement.

Thank goodness nobody else was walking around right before I dropped my glasses. This was all happening so fast.

" Salutations Terezi. " Aranea greets kindly.

" I would want to talk to you but I can't find my glasses!!! " I groan and search on the ground. I didn't know where Redglare was but it didn't matter.

I suddenly heard someone pick up something on the ground and could feel it being handed to me. I was pretty sure it was Redglare.

Redglare puts her hand out with my red glasses. " Here Latula. " she says comforting-like as I struggle a little to get my hand on the glasses.

With relief, I grasp them and automatically put them on. That was worrying.

Redglare and Aranea help me up as I open my eyes. Terezi was giggling like crazy while this happened. I roll my eyes at her.

Trying to act as rad as I can be, I greet Aranea more calmly and pleasurably. " Sup Serket ".

Aranea nods as I notice she had a book under her arm. Probably was reading.i did hear her mention something about a book when I bumped into her.

" That was a hard fall you just took, are you okay Tula? No scratches or cuts? " Aranea asks to make sure I was alright.

I nod but Redglare must of noticed something on my arm. I noticed her gaze was on where I put my pressure when I fell. Looking right there I see a small scratch on my elbow. Ouch.

Aranea gasps as Terezi didn't know what was going on. She tries to wander away but Redglare pulls my little sister back by her shirt collar. With her other hand she held the leash to Red, whom was sitting down peacefully like a good dog.

" I'm fine Aranea. " I groan, trying to say that it didn't even hurt. I couldn't even feel the scratch!

But she didn't listen. Her helping instincts went off and she checked to see if it was okay. I sigh as she makes sure my elbow is fine.

Aranea still looked a little freaked out though. " Uhhh it might need something to cover it incase it's infected. " Aranea overreacts. Redglare nods to agree with my friend.

" I said I am fine! " I shake my head in defiance. When I look down at my cut it was starting to bleed a bit. Great. Just great.

Aranea bites her lip with knowing that it must hurt (even though it didn't) and turned to face Redglare.

" There is a small store in the middle of this wildlife place. We could go there to get a Bandaid. " Aranea offers.

Redglare agrees," Alright then, ". Terezi and I both were displeased with this. At least we had that in common.

" You're coming? " My little sister and I say at once. Aranea does a thumbs up " Yes, I have about 2 hours left before I get picked up. Besides I am almost done with this book. It's really short apparently. "

I look at the book. I was ginormous! I didn't know why she said it was small because the only way for that to be possible is if it were 1 sentence per page.

We all head off together.

Eventually we arrive at our destination. Terezi now couldn't wait to go to the store because she heard they had Apple Juice. I didn't know why, but she has been obsessed with the substance lately.

Also she has been calling it aj. Weird.

We arrive at the door. Redglare opened the door for us quaintly while Red waltzed in as well once we all got inside the doors.

Although, after being inside with our dog for a few seconds the person at the front counter caught us.

He wore a nice suit and had odd looking hair. I already saw on his shirt his name tag said " Jaspers ". That name was bugging me already. Although he looked about my age, as being just a teen.

" Halt! " he says to us. We could just tell by where he was looking was by we were being halted.

The dog.

We all stare at Red as he puts his head down in shame. Aranea just looks at Jaspers with a smug look.

" As the sign says, no pets are aloud inside. My apologies to you but this law is strict. " Jaspers makes a shooing motion with his hand.

Aranea takes a deep breath," Whatever, although shouldn't you be outside if no pets are aloud? ".

She looked even more smug. Terezi giggled at Aranea's comment. It was pretty funny.

Terezi leans over to me and whispers " This is why the Serkets are the best. ". I chuckle and respond " Yes. They are rad and don't give a shit what people think about them ".

" Agreed " Terezi replies as we watch Jaspers blush red with anger and flustered-ness from that comment.

Redglare hands me the leash with Red. " You go outside with Red and wait. Also don't wander off or you are in big trouble. " she commands to me. Any moment Jaspers could get the boss. So we shouldn't get him any more angry then he is right now.

" Why me???? " I force to her. But she didn't respond. Aranea got the motive and walked over to me calmly.

" That was some badass talking you just did back there girl. " I inquire as we make our way to the door.

Aranea scratches the back of her neck and shrugs," He's pretty rude anyways. I don't like him at all. He just needed to hear that. "

I understood as Aranea opened the door for me. " Coming outside to watch Red I see? I will acquaintance you as well then. " she comments merrily.

" You are the best Ar. " I respond as we both get out of the store. Red hops down the veranda steps onto the moist grass. I let him sniff around for a bit.

Aranea closes the door softly and follows me, book still in hand. We stand for a few moments in silence.

She begins to read from her book silently. It was pretty boring now. Red wasn't tugging much so at least that was fine.

Suddenly I see something gleaming on the ground in the distance around a bundle of trees way off the path. It look like something useful, not just a piece of trash.

I had to go figure out what it was. It was too tempting.

I tap my friend on the shoulder. Her head lifts up from the book in her hands. She was paying attention to me!

" Nea. " I mention as I tap. The look that was placed on her face almost seemed to say ' What???????? '. Good enough.

" Look. " I point to the shiny thing in the distance. Aranea looks over there but the facial expression she showed looked like she couldn't see anything over there. I give her more of a hint.

" The shiny thing on the ground " I add on. She now could see it but didn't look interested in it.

Aranea glares at me " What's so important about that? It isn't that big of a deal. "

" Let's go over and take a look at it. " I start to walk to it but my friend pulls me back, concerned. Red stops to scratch his ear.

Aranea pouts " Didn't Redglare tell you to stay put? We shouldn't wander off incase they come out soon. "

I shake my head " Please? It will be real quick. I just would rather not go alone, loners ain't as rad, right? "

Aranea finally agrees as I cheer and lead her over to the shiny thing. I skip as Aranea reads.

Once we get to the shiny thing, I think I could tell what that was.

" Is that, a PDA? " I crinkle my nose and take the thing from the ground. Aranea looks up from her book " Yes it is actually. How do you even know what a PDA is Latula? I am slightly suprised. "

" Don't ask Nea. " I mention and look at the screen. It had messages on it. What was it sending it to? It was stuck on one page that wasn't telling me who something was sending to something I didn't know of too. Let's just say there was messages by somebody and it was being sent to somebody.

" Anything on it? " Aranea asks me. I reply with a yes. She bends a page and closes her book to leave a checkpoint for her reading.

I point at the screen " This is what it says:

Anon: HELLO SIR

Anon: THIS MAY BE A SURPRISE I AM ASKING YOU FOR A WHOLE BUNCH OF APPLE JUICE

Anon: DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS, BUT I WILL SEND YOU THE PLACE FOR THEM TO BE PUT AND PLACED FOR THE ULTIMATE PRANK

Anon: AS IT WILL BE ULTIMATE

Anon: WE GOT THIS MASTER, YOU KNOW THIS WILL BE THE PERFECT PAYBACK-

That's all it shows " I squint my eyes and read the messages over and over again. What was up with a bunch of Apple juice? The ultimate prank??? Payback?????

I had many questions that will probably never be answered. Oh well.

Aranea tilts her eyebrows in question and takes it from me, " What- "

I turn back around to see Redglare and Terezi buying their things. I pull Aranea by the arm.

" We have to get back! " I order as Aranea understands and follows me back to the veranda of the store. Red does know as well and follows too.

It was awhile after we all left the store and we were walking let me see if I could describe what we were all doing.

Redglare held the leash to Red, who was sniffing all around and conversing with other dogs, while she admired the scenery peacefully.

Terezi was a different story. Slurping up her Apple juice while every once in awhile sniffing people who walk by. It kind of embarrassed us.

Aranea wasn't listening or watching any of this. She was far too much into her book to notice. Nothing seemed to get her attention.

Latula, or me judging on this third person I just did, is bored to death. I have no skateboard, a lack of excitement, a cut on my arm, and a Care-Bear bandage covering the cut.

They said it was the only bandages they had left except for Blues Clues. Redglare thought Care Bears were more for girls. It was still pretty embarrassing though, either one she picked.

Terezi and Redglare walked a little behind us while Aranea and I walked up front.

Aranea finally closes her book, looking like she just finished a marathon. Satisfactory was her absolute mood at the moment, if it was one.

" Done! " Aranea sighs with relief.

I smile " Nice job Nea. That was probably a rad book to read. "

" It was!!!!!!!! " Aranea smiles back. " Although, can I put my book in your bag? I didn't bring mine today. "

I just remembered I was carrying a bag! It was light as a feather since I picked it up. Probably because the lack of anything in it.

" Sure! I have plenty of room. " I respond and open my bag as we keep walking.

" Thanks Latula " Aranea hands the book to me.

I put it away and zip it up. Since Aranea was now away from her book we could talk. Besides, I had a question that I have been really wanting to ask her.

" So.... " I begin.

" Yes? "

" I had a question I have been wanting to ask you! "

" Oh really???????? "

" Hellz yeah! "

" Then why doncha just ask me now then? " Aranea judges.

" Alright. " I correspond and ask politely " How come you are the only one here? Also why do you come here? Wait do you come here a lot??? " I force almost all at once.

Aranea waits a few moments and blinks. " That's more than one question Latula. But I guess I will answer them. "

" I like to be alone sometimes. It usually lets me think and read calmly with no pressure or force to do things. That's my main reason why I am the only one here. Besides, Mindfang doesn't mind taking me here once a week or so~ "

" I guess I just like to spend some time away from my family. They can get annoying with all of their pirate role play and stuff. Not that they are bad at all, I just need time by myself. I think that's my best answer to the question you asked. "

" I come once a week here if I usually keep on schedule. Although two weeks ago I didn't come and about a month from now I went twice! It can depend at times. "
