AQAM'S MOM WASN'T what I expected she didn't act like a mother and joined us in the sitting room watching fast and furious with us,she was hyping the movie with her son and I couldn't deny the resemblance they shared and how they almost had thesame behaviours

Like mother like son

I thought as I shake my head,I stood up and went to grab more nuts from the fridge with orange juice while we ate together

The woman left three hours later,after promising her we will surely come for dinner tomorrow

"Your mom...."I started but Haqam cuts me off

"She's different"he said giggling and I smiled "she thinks she is still a teenager"he added and we both laughed

"Yeah,I love her though"I said

"She feels thesame too"

"Why did you tell her we are couples?"I asked

"That's the easiest way to avoid her questioning and she had been disturbing me to have a babe"he said

"So I'm your fake girlfriend?"I teased

"You can say that again"he said wrapping his hands around me while I hit him in his chest

"No touching"I warned playfully and he pouted

"You're breaking my heart babe"he said and I laughed,he laughed too

It was time for the dinner and I can't lie I'm scared,I rummage through my clothes and I couldn't find the perfect attire to wear,I decided to wear the dark brown shiffon gown Haqam bought for me recently,I matched it up with a black veil and shoe leaving the room

"This is a no and no,the colour is too dark"Haqam said shaking his head and took me back to my room,he brought out a dark red V-neck gown and matched it up with a dark pink veil,a golden purse and shoe,he asked me to sit and applied make up on my face and help me tied my hair tie,Haqam is good with everything and I wonder most of the time what he can't do

I stood up and look at myself in the mirror,I was shocked how perfect Haqam was good with stuffs like this,the make up was simple but unique and I loved the way he tied the veil on my head

"And my woman looks perfect!"he said and I giggled,I can't deny the fact I love the transformation and I suddenly look worried because I have been gaining a lot of weight recently

"I'm getting fat!"I said pouting

"You're perfect and you better hush before I kiss you"he said and I shot him a glare keeping quiet immediately

He wore a dark red pants too matching up with my dress and a white button up shirt,he unbuttoned the first three buttons and rolled the sleeves up,he look handsome and breathtaking

We left the house and before I knew it we entered a big compound,bigger than Haqam's house,I couldn't call this a house any longer this is a freaky mansion,my nervousness kicked in immediately and I felt I'm out of place but I reminded myself this is all a lie,I'm not Haqam's girlfriend so I shouldn't be bothered

Haqam hold my left hand rubbing circles as we stepped into the house,the sitting room is very large and Haqam's mom came to welcome us immediately,she gave me an air kiss tugging her hand with mine walking into the dining room

I sat down with my heart beating erratically,it felt like I was having something I never did and it's kind of feel weird getting introduce to a whole new family

A tall and broad man joined us at the sitting room and I knew immediately he is Haqam's dad and Haqam took his height from him,a young teenager probably eighteen or seventeen joined us and we all sat around the dinning table

The house help served us our dinner and they left quietly

"Your mom told me you finally got yourself a girlfriend"the man said with a thick Yoruba accent

"Yes dad"Haqam replied looking at me and I gulped still scared

"What's your name beautiful?"the man asked looking at me and I swallowed before answering

"My name is Aishah, Suleiman Aishah"I said in a small voice

"You look like an Hausa,am I right?"he asked

"Yes sir,I'm from Zaria"I replied

"What do you do?"he asked and I look at Haqam for rescue

"She recently graduated from Ahmad Bello university Zaria,she read nutrition and dietetics and not working presently"Haqam replied and I nodded in agreement,Haqam once told me his dad is a well known politician

"She should join your mom's company"the man said and Haqam's mom chirped in

"I was thinking about that too,you should start leaving the house I wouldn't mind offering you a job"the woman says and I smiled

"Thank you ma'am"I said

"Call me mom"she said winking at me and my heart swelled

"This is Tayiba, Haqam's younger sister"Haqam's mom said and I gave Haqam a look,I thought he said he is the only child

"How are you?"the beautiful young lady asked

"I'm fine"I said smiling at her

"Welcome to the family"Haqam's dad said

"Thank you sir"I replied

We ate in silence and were served dessert,We went to the sitting room and watched movie for awhile and discovered Haqam's family are totally cool,I could see where Haqam had is selfless behaviour from,I had a girlie chat with Tayiba and she was cool but a shy type

The dinner was so nice that we didn't know the time was gone,We left the mansion around 10:00pm and went back home looking tired

"You told me you were the only child?"I asked

"Yes,Tayiba is my cousin she lost her mom during her delivery and my mom had take care of her since then"he said and my love for the family grew more,they didn't treat Tayiba like she wasn't their own,they accepted her as their own and my mind went to Mrs Bolanle teachings

"Okay,good night I'm tired"I said

"Me too"he said hugging me for awhile before letting me go,he kissed my forehead and I went to my room having my bathe,I wore my pyjamas with one thought in my mind,I love Haqam's family

"This will be your office"Haqam's mom told me and I couldn't lie I love the office so much,she decided to employ me as one of the workers in her company,she's into fashion and designing

"This is so beautiful,thank you mummy!"I said hugging her,we grew so close that I don't mind calling her mom and sometimes I forgot I'm not really in a relationship with Haqam with the way they treated me

"You deserve more dear,I believe in you"she said and I nodded,I once told her I wanted to have my own fashion and designing company too and she said she's in all support and she's waiting for me to challenge her company,this woman is everything a daughter and daughter in-law can ever ask for

She left me in my office to get familiar with everything,I run my hands through the desk and chairs down to the cabinets,the door suddenly opened and Haqam came inside

"How do you see the office?"he asked

"Perfect!"I replied shining my teeth

"You look happy"he said smiling

"Who wouldn't when you finally got a superb paying job"I replied and he broke out laughing

"You know I don't mind taking care of you"he said and I hit him

"You tease too much"I said laughing

"I only tease what's mine,least you forget you're my babe"he said and shook my head

"The way you talk sometimes will make me forget that all this is fake"I said and he smiled drawing me closer and hugging me

"Congratulations dear! More success ahead"he said and I smiled

"Thank you Haqam"I said looking into his eyes

"For what?!"he asked

"For everything,for being there right from the start"I said and he chuckled

"Thank you"he said too and I look confused

"For what?"I asked

"For coming into room 609"he said and I hit him laughing and he joined too

With Haqam's kind gesture and his family's I can see a new turn in my life and I'm so happy about it and I'm going to grab this opportunity to start all over again with all the will in me

Three years later

"Oh my God! What am I going to do now?!"Tayiba said with her eyes getting glossy,Dad was having a big visitor today we don't know about and everyone is busy setting the place but Tayiba mistakenly broke dad's favourite wristwatch

"Calm down Tayiba,we should let mom know about this first"I said and she shook her head dismissively "or do you want dad to find out himself?"I asked and she sighed

We met mom in the sitting room giving orders and we stopped her

"Mom!"Tayiba said like she was about to loose her life "I broke dad's favourite wristwatch"

"You did what?!"my mom asked scarily scaring Tayiba the more,even though Tayiba is twenty one years old she still act like a baby and got scared of everything

"Mom stop scaring her!"I said and look at my watch,I have to get back home and get ready to meet dad's visitors

"Oh sorry dee,I didn't mean to don't worry I will talk to him"Mom said and Tayiba nodded

"I will be going home"I said and left the premises

I took my car driving out of the mansion,I'm proud to say I owe a car and my own fashion and designing company now even though the company is just growing but with the help of mom everything have been going smoothly,I still live with Haqam because we are scared of mom finding out we are not together,she had tried different times to lure us into marriage but we always come up with an excuse saying we are not ready

I parked the car in the compound and went inside the house,Haqam was nowhere to be found and I thought he went out,I went inside my room and had my bath and decided to eat apple before getting dressed

I came out of the room to take an apple from the fridge when I met Haqam in the sitting room with a lady not doing any other thing but were kissing

My heart squeezed immediately and I felt my eyes getting blurry,I took my apple and went back to my room

I have no right to complain,I got dressed only to find myself crying and I farlie why I was crying,I'm not into Haqam and we are not into each other so why am I crying

Or maybe it's the thought that Haqam is into you

My subconscious mind said and I shut it out immediately
