Alana's POV: 

I was with Noah, I was pretty happy I found a date.

 Then I heard the doorbell ring.

 I snuck downstairs to see what was going on.

 And what I saw shocked me. 

"Hello, what can I do for you?" said Rose. 

Mateo was holding red flowers and a card.

 "Aw, is that for me?"

 I wish it was for me! 

"Yes, will you be my date to the party?" 

OMG, she's going to say no right?

 "Why not?

 Do you have a suit?" she says.

 I know he didn't, maybe Rose will think he's poor.

 "Um no," 

"Perfect! I have a suit ready for you, it matches mine!"

No,no no...

Noah's POV

When Alana comes back she looks stunned and mad. 

"What happened,"

 "Well, um you see, I asked Mateo first, of course, and then he said no. 

He also said he didn't know who he was going with.

 But he sure did, and her name is Rose!" 

I felt really bad for Alana and guilty.

 I wanted to ask Rose, but her parents said no. 

"I'm so glad you picked me first!" she said. 

"Um yeah,". And she left.

Mateo's POV

I want to tell Alana that I'm going with Rose.

 She'll find out soon enough.

 I see her walking home, wearing a red top with sweatpants. 

Cute. "Hey Alana," I tap her.

 "What?" She sounds annoyed.

 "Sorry for not going with you, I just didn't like the way we hang out, so I should tell you I'm going with-" "Rose! 

I know I say you, you bought her flowers and all and you're matching!

 So guess what! I'm going with Noah! BYE!" She says, and leaves.

I feel jealous, Noah. I'm sure he was Rose's first pick.
