Overview

After centuries of tyranny, neglect, and corruption caused by the Elysian Empire, efforts were put in place to create a new coalition of systems and people to rival the empire. The Axarian Alliance was born in the depths of the Axaris Systems, a mostly civilized collection of star systems neighboring the Outer Rim. They're mainly protected by the militant might of Xonaru and the snowy wastelands of Troslore. The Alliance operates with a democratic system that requires at least one representative per allied planet (larger planets often have two or more). The Axarian Senate convenes in Xonaru to vote on proceedings regarding their alliance, territories, and the budding war against the empire. Their largest military base outside of Xonaru resides on Troslore and is referred to as The Glacier.

The Senate is led by a Chancellor, currently Mossadi au Tittanus, who is elected by popular vote. Has control over the fleet, army, and can make executive decisions that override the Axarian Congress on rare occasions.

The Axarian Alliance's mission is simple: fight for justice and peace throughout all systems and free the galaxy from the unjust rule of the Elysian Empire. At least, that's what they tell people...

Society

The Axaris System, home of the alliance, is a safe haven for many refugees of the empire and other systems ravaged by war, famine, and sickness. Because of this, many planets are a melting pot of different cultures, languages, and factions. Representatives from the Axarian Congress have attempted to unite the different groups under a single umbrella, but it's proving to be harder than anticipated.

Hands and Slavs are illegal in this part of the galaxy, though, black market dealers are known to sell them to the highest bidder after smuggling them through the borderlines.

Androids are more prevalent on these planets, as they're used as an alternative labor force. However, the treatment of androids is a heavily debated topic.

Because of the influx of refugees, the alliance's borders and security measures aren't as strong as the empire's. Pirates, criminals, and spies are known to reside throughout Alliance-controlled territories.

Biography:

After immigrating from Yensari to Novr, Iggy and his family were forced to pledge their lives to the empire. He grew up as a Hand in the salt mines, working tirelessly to provide for his sick mother after his father abruptly vanished. After getting caught with rebel contraband, he was arrested and sent to Elysium to fight in the Elysian Gladiator Games. He struck up a partnership with an elder Andradan named Ohr-Yahn Tennic and the two of them progressed to the latter stages of the games, even earning a sponsor from the Au Castus house. After Tenn's death, Iggy joined the rebel cause and aided them in an attack on the arena.

Before the arena, Iggy was a timid and weak boy, opting to avoid confrontation by any means necessary. After the arena, he's become a bit more experienced in how the galaxy works. He's colder, less emotional, and will do anything to protect those he cares about.

Biography:

Born in the harsh swamplands of Junzar to poor parents, Jaxon grew up having to fight for himself. As a young teen, he left Junzar to find his grandfather, a retired pilot in the Elysian Navy, in the Outer Rim. He learned how to fly and eventually enlisted in the Elysian Army. After multiple conflicts with his officers and a traumatic battle on Aku'Akon, Jaxon deserted and fled to the Axaris Systems. Back on Junzar, he was approached by a member of the Axarian Alliance and joined the rebel cause.

He quickly gained the trust and favor of Chancellor Mossadi au Victorus, who sent him on a covert mission to scout the arena on Elysium. After meeting Iggorii Amrada, he carried out his plan to kidnap Emperor Voltai au Castus. His plan failed and he fled to Xonaru. Jaxon is suave, cocky, and pushes down all his childhood trauma behind his confident facade.
