Wasted Potential

*Rita's P.O.V.*

Jenkins and Clyde work around the clock to save Terras life, trying to figure out what could be done to keep her from dying. But, sadly, when no cure was found to the magic wound, Jenkins and Clyde were forced to give up.

Dr. Livingstone could not say goodbye to the girl he considered his daughter simply because he was recovering in a magical hospital. The Librarians, Jenkins, Clyde, Timothy, Luke and I took turns saying goodbye to Terra, us 4 immortals going last. Jenkins, Clyde, Timothy and I sadly knew what it felt like to lose someone who've barely known, but whose life made a great impact in your life.

I was the last one to enter Terras makeshift hospital room, leaving the others outside. Toys of all sorts had gathered around Terra, staying together for their last moments alive. Terra looked over to me, breathing through a mask as she gasped, "H-Hello....." "Hi kiddo; how are you feeling?" I asked, sitting in a chair by her bedside.

Terra shrugged, stating honestly, "Surprisingly calm, though I nearly broke when Luke started bawling his eyes out." I sadly nodded, "Luke is quite the emotional one, I'll give him that. Compassion is hard to come by these days....." Terra coughed, squeezing the hand of a teddy bear tightly. The teddy bear sadly looked up to the one who gave him life, the other toys whispering among themselves.

Forcing myself to remain calm, I kindly asked, "Is there anything you'd like me to do for you? Is there anyone I can call for you to say goodbye.....?" "I don't have anyone," Terra wheezed, "My parents and Dr. Livingstone are the only family I've had. I-Is Dr. Livingstone able to make it to see me?" I took a deep breath before I sighed, "Sadly no. He's recovering in a magical hospital, though I could possibly call him for you..."

"Could you? Please?" Terras eyes gleamed, hope filling the young girl. I nodded and used the strange phone device to call the hospital he was in, stepping out of the room for a moment. Finally, I came back in and handed the phone over to Terra, leaving her to tell Dr. Livingstone goodbye. I bypassed the Librarians and Jenkins, walking with my head down and my hands in my pockets.

My walking led me to the Annexs main room, where I leaned against the Annexs main table, fiddling with the edge of my braid with my fingers. Memories of Raura as a child flooded my mind, reminding me of the time when I considered Raura my sister and not some monster I feared. I sighed, closing my eyes and lowering my head. Raura...... Terra..... The two remind me so much of one another, Terra reminding me of Raura before my sister died.......

"Terra wants to talk to you again, Rita." Jenkins broke my train of thought, his hand gently resting on my shoulder. I looked up to Jenkins, asking in confusion, "What?" "Terra wants to talk to you again," Jenkins repeated himself, before he shrugged, "Apparently she seems to see you as a friend." I was definitely surprised; Terra thinks I'm a friend? But I barely know the girl! Well, that and Luke barely knows Terra, but he seemed to fall head over heels for her.

Jenkins steered me back to Terras room, his hand never leaving my shoulder. I looked up to my immortal friend, seeing the tears misting his blue eyes. I was slightly surprised at Jenkins tears, yet it was understandable; as a Caretaker, Jenkins must have seen countless potential Librarians come and go. Terra especially is gonna leave a mark on us all, I can just feel it.

Jenkins left me at Terras bedroom door, allowing me to walk in on my own. Terra was still sitting up on a bed, still surrounding by her stuffed animal friends. I sat back down in the chair, inquiring, "Jenkins said you wanted to talk to me?" Terra asked me, "Could you do something for me?" I nodded sadly, without hesitation replying, "Anything!" Nodding, Terra asked, pointed to a desk sitting next to her bed, "Do you see that necklace right there?"

I looked over, noticing a folded angel wings necklace that appeared to be made of silver. I gently took the bumpy necklace in my hand, turning back to Terra, "Yes, why?" Terra gently took the necklace, opening up both of the wings to reveal a picture inside. Terra handed me the locket, asking, "Do you see that girl right there? Next to me?"

I looked down at the photo. The girl with her arm wrapped around Terra looked about 15 years old. She had her brownish blonde hair pulled back in a tight ponytail with a bright smile on her face. Her sparkly blue eyes shined happily; a green and black soccer uniform covered her lanky body. "Her name is Megan Strucker," Terra smiled lightly, "I met her at Yosemite National Park, during a week long camping trip. If you could be so kind, I would like you to give that necklace to her."

Sadly nodding my head, I answered her, "Sure! Where does she live?" "Somewhere in Logan, Utah," Terra revealed, coughing, "Its a small town, you can't miss it!" I gently took her free hand, reassuringly saying, "I'll get this to her. I'll tell her....." "That shes meant to be a Librarian." Terra smiled at my surprised face, laying back on her pillows, "I was never meant to be a Librarian. I was only meant to point the Library in the direction of Megan."

"W-What? By why......?"

"Cause she's someone so much stronger than me. Though she doesn't have any magic in her veins, she does have untold greatness inside of her...." Terras coughing began to get worse, as she squeezed my hand tighter. "F-find her! P-Please! M-Megan... I-Is.... I-in d-danger! Y-you have to s-save her f-from D-Dulaque!" Terra was a coughing mess.

Clyde, Eve, Flynn, Jake, Cassandra, and Ezekiel ran into the room, running over to Terra to stop the bleeding. As Cassandra steered me out of the room, Terra coughed, "S-Save Megan! P-Please!!!!" Cassandra passed me off to Jenkins, closing the door behind her. Jenkins and I peeked into the room, watching worriedly for Terras condition. A portal opened up, several elf doctors hurrying into the room. The elf doctors took Terras bed and wheeled it through the portal, working to save Terras life.

If all goes well, Terra will live....

But she will never become a Librarian.....

Dang, I never killed off a character! *Nervous sweating*

What do you guys think? Should I add Terra back onto the Librarians team or not? If so, what power do you think Terra should have that would explain her ability to bring toys to life? Who could Megan Strucker be?

Lemme know in the comments below what you guys would like to see in a Librarian book! I have several more ideas for Librarians books, but I'd like to hear the ideas that you, the fan, have in your brilliant minds! Leave a comment below if you enjoyed this chapter or didn't!
