Chapter 12
Unknown Pov:
Right, let's find that thing. She has caused me too much trouble already. Like, i'm supposed to be relaxing. Living my life. I shouldn't be on my feet working at this age. Okay, so i'm not that old, but STILL. I may look fabulous, but don't let it deceive you. Ugh, okay, here we go.
The usual vibrations were sent through the room. The air around me ripples and violet sparks popped in the air, making my baby Rat-Shark run away scared, launching itself headfirst into a wall. Stupid little thing.
I re-focused myself. This should be fairly easy. Oh no. Or not...
Suddenly, it backfired, and a ball of the swirling purple flames flew towards me. I ducked just in time and it hit the stone wall behind me. What the Hell??
I peered into the Huge, Stone, Tripod cauldron. Within the Purple mass, it was writhing like a dying Slug-bird, and crackling like a contained beam of lightning. But, the concerning thing, was the fact that it had streaks of, Gold? Why Gol- OH GODDESS.
Gold? Why the HELL are they keeping the girl in Gold?? First of all they are going to make her angry and she could lose control and Ruin everything. But second of all, the L'entrae's are the only ones permitted to use gold, and they obviously don't know who she really is yet if that's what they have done, because Gold does not affect her as much, as it does to any other shifter. THEY should know that out of everyone.
NOW WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?
I screamed in annoyance, and a dark purple beam of power shot out of my hand and hit the wall. The same spot it seems to hit every time I get angry. All the stone around me shook, the dilapidated structure getting progressively unstable for me to stay in. It would be very pathetic if I end up leaving this world, by getting flattened by multiple tonnes of stone. So I need to hurry up what i'm doing so I can leave this appalling place.
It's okay. It is all fine. Let them have their little reunion, and and a happy moment. When they are at their weakest, 'fawning' over each other, I will strike and snatch what they just got back.
No POV; L'entrae's Palace:
On the journey Alaia had blacked out and lost vision many times, this last time lasting at least 15 minutes. When she opened her eyes, she was being dragged through somewhere uncomfortably dark, gloomy and damp. The faint, nauseating smell of old blood filled her nostrils, and her senses amplifying the stench more than she would like. She managed to turn her head to look at the other man, who was dragging Jason. She blinked in shock and took a sharp intake of air, flinching when she saw him.
He was completely unconscious, and by the pale white of his face, and his arms that were chained, he had been for a while. Why was his body reacting that way? Why is he so affected by the gold. Was it his age? Health? No, it can't be, she ate barely anything per day, and had managed to stay conscious for at least half of their journey to... here. Wherever the hell they were. She was not awake for their arrival, so couldn't even try and escape, or at least prepare for what was about to happen.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the impact of a hard cold surface. She groaned in pain and rolled over to her side. She saw the tall, brawny man, slam the door closed, lock it, then walk out. She was panting in pain and managed to sit up after a few minutes. She was in a cell. Or even a cage. It was so small it was basically just a cage.
Once she had regained some sort of awareness, she sat upright against the bars, and turned to the cage beside her. Alaia now had a full view of Jason, and his face, as he lie almost lifeless on the floor. Every so often, one of his fingers would twitch, or eyelids flicker. The dark circles under his eyes were now more ghoulishly pronounced, and his arms dry and calloused.
A scuttling sound, resonated through the dark, empty space, dragging her attention away from Jason. In the corner of the room, Lockroaches were seen feeding off of the dried blood that adorned the walls. Beastly bugs, that are half the size of a shifters fist, sometimes bigger. The beastly things were just infested in the walls and cracks in the stone.
Then, the door opened. The same guard that dragged her into the place appeared, not making eye contact with her. Beside him, stood a familiar man. She stared at his face, and pristine features, before she remembered.
The same man she bumped into at the Ineritus pack. As soon as his eyes landed on hers, his face contorted into one of disgust and remorse.
Alaia started panicking, No no no. Shit, he thinks I'm one of them. I'm not, I'm really not. Her mind was racing and heart rate rising.
As they turned their backs to walk out after a few minutes of hushed conversation, she managed to croak out as loud as possible.
Alaia: WAIT, STOP, I'M NOT ONE OF THEM. I'M NOT ONE OF THEM, YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE ME, PLEASE!
They turned around and the raggedy guard just looked at her, his lips curled up into a sneer, and his dark green eyes bored into hers.
Guard: Shut up mutt. Why would I believe someone like you???
They both walked out and one of their laughs was heard, as the huge door was slammed closed. Alaia just stared at the floor. She felt like she'd been struck in the heart. Her chest ached, the same words being told to her by different people really hurt.
Her fists balled but then relaxed, and she dropped onto her side on the floor, collapsing in a crying mess. Hot salty tears streamed down her cheeks, irritating any open cuts or wounds in their path.
Her emotions were running wild, and went from helpless, to upset, to now angry.
Her heart was rapidly speeding up and her breath was growing heavy, part of it was due to her mass anger, but the other part, she didn't know. She was now practically panting, and her chest aching to a great extent. Her fists clenched once again and she glared towards the door. But then with a loud crash the door just collapsed to pieces of broken stone, her heart stopped in her chest when she locked eyes with the person standing in the doorway......
L'entrae; Main Throne room:
These guards are taking too long! I'm not an impatient person, but this is serious.
Queen Anastasia was pacing down the throne room deep in thought, when she felt Lucierre's eyes on her. She turned to him and glared at him, his mouth already open.
Anastasia: YES. I know, do not say anything, I'm just nervous, okay?!
The king closed his mouth and just smiled. He checked his watch, and then quickly stood up looking to the door.
At the sound of it opening, she did a whole 360 and looked at William, he went to kneel, as the guards are supposed to do,
Anastasia: There's no time for that now! Just speak Mr Valden.
William flinched a little at her harsh cold tone and quickly stood up straight, he then said to her hurriedly,
William Valden: S-sorry your Majesty. Yes your Majesty. So the girl, I have confirmed it is the very same girl that ran past me at the Ineritus Packhouse, and sprinted out the door for some reason. Sh-she kept shouting that she is not 'one of them' but obviously she was just trying to get out of punishment.
The Queen flinched and stood up. The veins in her neck were bulging and the air around lowering in temperature.
Anastasia: So you have seen her before?! And she was running away from the Underealm? And that did not seem a little suspicious to you? WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME WHEN IT HAPPENED
William and the King both jumped in their spaces. He swallowed hard and said shakily, the muscular man now reduced to a shaking stammering mess,
William Valden: I-I-I I'm sorry My Queen, I-I told Raven, but it just-
Anastasia: RAVEN? WHAT'S RAVEN GOING TO DO? TAKE ME TO THE-
Suddenly time froze around Anastasia. Her heart hammered against her chest and something within her was squirming and getting stronger, willing her body to move in a certain direction, she said labouredly to the King,
Anastasia: Lucierre come-
She turned on her heels and ran out of the throne room. The king jolted up and ran after her confused, William just standing there confused, but relieved The Queen was gone.
The more the queen ran, the faster her feet moved before her. She didn't know where she was going, but the direction she was heading made her stomach churn. The King was hot on her heels, struggling to keep up with her expeditious speed. She started to slow down as she reached the door to the cells. Her chest was now aching too much and willing her forwards, a few tears unintentionally slid down her cheeks. She didn't have the key, but this... pull, was too much for her to handle while waiting around for a Key.
In a split second, the king watched her worried and shocked, as her eyes started swirling blood red. She held her palms up to the sky in front of her and the veins in her hands pressed against her skin. The air around her changed to a red glow, and energy filled the space. She balled her fist and with one swift movement, sent a crippling blow to the middle of the door. a red blinding electricity sort of energy crackled through the air, and flowed out of her fists, and sunk into the door.
Within seconds the door fully collapsed into a huge pile of stone, a few pieces on the ground still sizzling. The Queen lowered her hands, and without wasting another second, walked into the cells.
The king followed her cautiously, waiting to see what would happen. He had started to feel a faint tingling sensation run up his spine and spread through his limbs, as they walked deeper into the cold space. Anastasia rounded the corner and heavy, laboured breathing was heard in the depths of the place, among the scuttling and trilling of bugs creatures.
She walked faster until her legs stopped in front of one of the holding cells. She locked eyes with the girl. Anastasia's breath hitched in her throat, and the air around them turned Hot.....
