Old Friends
Y/N L/N is the son of Maria L/N, a founding Avenger. After defeating AIM alongside the reformed team, he has embraced his destiny as....
The Legendary
Leviathan
You bit down on your pencil as you waited for Kamala to finish her homework. Yours was already done and put away, but you were growing inpatient.
You tapped your foot as you sat at the table across from Kamala. She wasn't taking her time or anything. She just wasn't as fast as you were.
You didn't blame her. You were smarter than the average high school student. Hell, you could've probably graduated ages ago.
But here you are. Slowly dying of boredom.
You ended up coming back to Jersey City late last night. After having dinner with the Fantastic Four, you ended up staying a bit later to show Franklin and Valerie what they had missed over the last few years.
So weird that you were now their age. They used to be older by five whole years.
Now you were the older one. Ha!
Kinda.
You were only older than Valerie and it was only by a few months.
Still!
That means that you, Franklin, Valerie, and Kamala were all the same age group. Hey, maybe you can make a Young Avengers team.
.
.
.
.
.
Nah. Sounds boring.
Kamala: I'm almost done. We can do something after.
Y/N: Okay.
You just rested your chin on your fist as Kamala tried to wrap up her history homework.
Y/N: You know, I could just...
Kamala: I'm not letting you do my homework for me.
But it would be so much faster.
Hailey: Leave your girlfriend alone. Let her work.
You looked over to where your sister was watching TV. Steve had left for some mission to check out some thing for someone to do something to prevent....
Yeah, you didn't really care to ask.
Besides, this story is called the Legendary Leviathan. Not the Captain America Book.
Stay in your lane, old man!
You just groaned and laid your head on the table. However, your phone suddenly went off which made you lift your head. You looked to see who it was with your eye, which still creeped Kamala out, only to see that it was an unknown number.
You pulled out your phone and answered it. If this was about a ransom then you wanted it to be over as soon as possible.
Y/N: Look, I'm broke so you can honestly just be the dude who killed Captain America. I'll let the masses deal with.....
???: Y/N?
You immediately froze up at the voice.
Kamala and Hailey noticed and stared at you as you sat there. Your face looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Kamala couldn't even tell if you were breathing or not.
Kamala: Y/N...
You stood up and immediately left the room. Kamala was left confused. Her and Hailey looked at each other.
You closed the door to your room and took a deep breath.
???: Hello? Y/N?
Y/N: y-yeah.
You shook your head and cleared your throat.
Y/N: Yeah. That's me. Hey.
You heard faint laughter on the other line.
???: Hey. Uh, hey.
You stood there for a moment before you slowly walked to your bed. You sat down and felt just how tight your entire body was.
???: Sorry about calling out of the blue like this. I know it's been a while since we've talked last.
It has.
Y/N: Yeah. It's fine. H-How are you, Nadia?
Indeed. You were on the phone with Nadia Van Dyne. The daughter of Hank Pym and his first wife, before she was legally adopted by Janet Van Dyne.
The same Nadia that you had left behind two years ago. After her quest to stop AIM almost got the two of you captured.
You left her all alone in tha rain that night. And you hadn't spoken to her since*.
(*Read Avengers for more info!)
Nadia: I'm doing good. It's nice to finally have my dad back. And, uh, thank you for that, by the way.
Right. That was kinda because of you.
Dr. Hank Pym has been checking in on you here and there just to see how you were doing. But you haven't spoken to Janet or Nadia.
Y/N: Right. No problem.
Nadia: Oh! And I saw you on the news! Congrats on being an Avenger. And, uh, whatever that other team was. Did you fall from the sky into Central Park?
You sat there for a moment.
Y/N: Y-Yes.
Nadia: Cool!
Y/N: Yeah.
You were suddenly back in silence.
Nadia: Look, I.....I honestly wasn't expecting you to answer. Or even have my number still.
You didn't. You had deleted it after you gave up on trying to reach out to her. You never really even tried.
Nadia: But I was hoping we could, I dunno, meet up or something? Maybe get a milkshake like we use to? Take a train to New York?
You rubbed the back of your neck.
Y/N: I dunno, Nadia...
You could almost hear Nadia sigh on the other line. You knew that she regretted how things ended, but you also blamed yourself.
You could've helped her. You could've stopped her from losing control like she did.
But you didn't.
Nadia: Yeah. I knew this would be weird. I-I'm sorry for calling and...
Y/N: No! No. Uh, you're fine. It's just....I don't think.....
You then suddenly thought of something. A plan.
Y/N: Wait! I know!
Nadia: What?
Y/N: How about we meet up at our old spot? I have someone that you can meet. Another Avenger.
Nadia: One I don't know?
You nodded. Oh, wait. She can't see you.
Y/N: Yeah. She joined with me. And, uh, she's my....girlfriend.
There was silence.
Then...
Nadia: THEN I HAVE TO MEET HER!
You cried out as you grabbed your eye. It was like someone just yelled right into your ear.
Nadia: I can't wait to meet her! Oh, I have to wear something nice!
Y/N: Uh, yeah. Sure. We'll head over in an hour or so.
Should give Kamala enough time to finish her homework.
Nadia: Okay! I'll see you guys then! I can't wait! Oh, and bring Hailey! I haven't seen her in forever!
Y/N: O-Okay. Yeah. Sure. See you.
You hung up and let out a sigh. Your door then swung open as both Hailey and Kamala fell into your room. Hailey's wheelchair was now on the floor.
You crossed your arms as the two girls looked up at you.
Hailey: H-Hey, big bro.
Kamala: There's my boyfriend.
This was going to be a long day.
--------------
Kamala: So, I'm finally going to meet Nadia? This is so exciting.
The three of you sat in a very familiar smoothie shop. While you were dreading what was to come, Hailey and Kamala were excited.
Way too excited.
You tapped your fingers on the table before the bell over the door rang. Kamala and Hailey both jumped when you shot straight up and cleared your throat.
Y/N: Roombath.
You turned and immediately hurried to the bathroom.
You had faced an entire evil organization. You've looked death in the eye and laughed. You've defeated a Kree Sentry. You helped the Fantastic Four. You defeated Annihilous.
Or whatever his name was.
Yet here you were in the bathroom trying to collect yourself.
Why was this so hard?!
You grabbed a hold of the sink and took a deep breath. You turned on the water and splashed some on your face.
You can do this. You can!
You hyped yourself up some more, unaware that someone was watching you from the urinal.
Y/N: I can do this. I can face her! I've fought harder battles before! I'm a God damn Avenger! I'm a man!
Man: Yeah!
You turned around and made eye contact with the guy. He gave you a thumbs up which you gladly returned.
Y/N: Please don't tell anyone I said that.
Man: You have my word.
You nodded and fixed your shirt.
You then walked out of the bathroom.
Naida: Y/N!
You were halfway to your table when someone jumped on you. You were hit with a sudden wave of nostalgia by the smell of her shampoo. She only grew a few more inches, but she was still much smaller than you.
There was no doubt about it.
This was Nadia.
She pulled away and looked at you from head to toe.
Nadia: Wow! You look great! Even that new scar on your eye looks cool!
You nervously smiled before you looked over to Kamala and Hailey. They both watched to see what you would do next.
Y/N: Uh...y-y-yeah. It's nice to see you again, Nadia.
Nadia smiled widely.
Nadia: You too. Come on! Introduce me to your new girlfriend!
She pulled you along over to tha table. Once you had reached it, she let go and looked at Hailey.
Nadia: Hailey!
She hurried over and hugged your sister tightly. Those two always had been close. You looked to Kamala who seemed absolutely okay with everything going on.
Must be nice.
Y/N: Nadia, this is Kamala, my girlfriend. Kamala, this is Nadia.
Nadia let go of Hailey and Kamala stood up.
Kamala: It's nice to...Agh!
Nadia suddenly lifted her up in a bear hug that neither Kamala nor you were expecting.
Nadia: It's so nice to meet you! Thank you for taking care of Y/N! I know he can be a handful but I really appreciate it!
Y/N: Hey!
Nadia: I hope we can be good friends.
She set Kamala down, that poor girl, and Kamala looked at her. She was really strong for someone so small.
That was because she was Hank Pym's daughter. She is the Wasp.
That necklace she had? That was where her suit was. She literally had Pym Particles in her blood. She could grow and shrink at will.
Plus, she was a brilliant person.
Kamala: N-Nice to meet you, too.
Nadia smiled before she sat down next to Hailey. You took a deep breath and sat down as well. So far, so good, you supposed.
Kamala sat next to you and noticed how stiff you were. She placed a hand on yours under the table.
Nadia: So, Y/N said that you're an Avenger now too. Ms. Marvel, right?
Kamala nodded.
Kamala: Yep. That's me.
Nadia: That's nice. You guys did great at taking down AIM. You should be proud.
Y/N: We are. So, uh, how are things going with you?
Nadia: Great! I've been working on something that I think you'd like. I can't tell you what it is yet, though.
That sounds ominous.
But she seemed sincere. If there was one thing you could say about Nadia, it was that she was honest. She didn't really ever try to hide anything.
Maybe that was why leaving her hurt so much.
Nadia: Have you talked to Hyde recently?
Y/N: Hyde? Uh, I don't think so. Not since we broke up.
Nadia: Really? Well, he got a job at Janet's store. You should swing by sometime. But, not actually swing by. Maybe walk, like a normal person.
Kamala leaned over to Hailey.
Kamala: Who's Hyde?
Hailey: Y/N's ex. He's into fashion design and punk music. Cool guy. They broke up since his family was moving to New York.
Kamala nodded.
Then she caught it.
Kamala: Wait....
Nadia: So, Kamala, what do you think about the super hero life? Pretty neat, huh?
Kamala quickly sat back up and nodded.
Kamala: Yeah! Yeah. It's fun for the most part.
Nadia: It usually is. There will be hard times, but you just got to push through it.
Before the reunion could get into full swing, your phone started to go off. Kamala's as well.
You both pulled them out to see that JARVIS was calling.
You both looked at each other.
Nadia: Is everything okay?
Y/N: Uh, yeah. But it looks like something came up. Avenger stuff.
Nadia: Oh. Okay. You guys go on ahead. Me and Hailey can spend time together.
You looked to your sister. She just nodded. She was more than happy to hang out with Nadia, so you were okay with leaving her.
Y/N: Alright. We'll have to do this another time. Hopefully, when the world isn't in possible danger.
Nadia: I agree. Now go be heroes.
You nodded as you and Kamala left the smoothie shop.
Because elsewhere, a young woman was walking through an AIM base.
In her hands was a bow.
