Chihiro's pov

I sat in my glass prison and watched the man with the fish head armor stand up and walk to where Dark Link was standing.

"That idiot didn't do his job." Dark said in anger.

"Seems he is letting his feelings get the best of him.  I will have to punish him, and destroy the hero and Midna myself." The other man said.

"Want me to come along?" Dark asked.

"No, you stay put and watch our prisoner."

"As you wish master."

Then the man with the fish head walked into a portal and it closed up behind him.

'Oh Kairi..be careful..' I held my necklace closely and prayed to the goddesses.

Kairi's pov

We arrived at the spring near the ledge.

"Well now we can go challenge Zant." Link said.

"Yes, and can get Chihiro back." I said.

I turned around then stopped.  A figure taller then me stood in the way.  It had a helmet that looked like a fish with a large tongue and had a long robe on.  It suddenly got brighter and I looked back and saw the light spirit behind us looking at the cloaked figure.  A sudden force made us all fly back.  I hit the ground and my vision began to go dark.  I fell unconscious as the spring got darker as well.

Shadows pov

I managed to stand against Zant's blast but Link and Kairi were unconscious.  Zant knocked back the light spirit, took control of the orb of light and lowered it into the spring and the whole place turned to twilight. The two turned into wolves, and Midna was forced from Kairi's shadow.  I was turned back into an imp and I watched Zant.

"Zant!" She shouted.

Zant then threw her into the air and hung her there with his magic.  He then took the Fused Shadows from her and she struggled as he did.  Zant walked past Link and Kairi and more towards the edge.

"Did you honestly mean to take an ancient and withered power like this and turn it against me?  You are a foolish traitor, Midna.  Why do you defy your king?"  He questioned.

"My KING? You, who do nothing but abuse the magic of your tribe? You must be joking!" She back talked.

"How dare you?! Are you implying that my power is...our old magic?  Now THAT is a joke!"

He used his magic to lift her and throw her to the ground, he turned around and looked at her.

"This power is granted to me by my god!  It is the magic of the King of Twilight, and you WILL respect it!"

He began to form a red ball of magic, by then Link woke up and lunged at him taking the hit and was thrown back unconscious near  Midna.  She tried to wake him up but couldn't.

"Link! Link wake up! Are you okay?!" Midna cried out.

"With the power of the tri force I will be even more powerful because my god will reward me for fetching him his prizes."

"What? Tri force?" Midna asked.

"Do you really believe that I would take the half breeds sister for no reason? The ones shadow you have been hiding in has half of the triforce of love. I was asked by my master to fetch both halves.  After the hero and you are destroyed I will take the half breed."

"You won't get away with any of this!"

Kairi's pov

I woke up to the spring covered in twilight once again.  I looked to my right and saw the figure still standing near me.  I got up and looked across seeing Link unconscious and Midna was by his side. 

"Link!" I barked and ran over to him but was pulled back by a strong force.

"You are coming with me half breed." A different voice spoke from behind me.

Midna was then pulled back next to the figure on the other side of me.

"My Midna...Did you forget?  That beast is one of the light dwellers who oppressed our people. No matter how much you may desire otherwise, you will never be more than a shadow in their world.  You cannot consort with their kind!  But if we can make their world ours, Midna..light and darkness will meet at last.  Our tribe will take back their relam..and sweet darkness will blot out this harsh light!  And that, Midna, is why..I need you.   Not just for me, but for all our people.. Lend me your power."

Midna struggled and got down flying over to Link and staying by him again.

"I will never join you Zant! I don't join forces with traitors! I rather die then work with you!" Midna yelled.

"Fine then so be it.  Now Shadow I will give you one more chance, destroy the hero and Midna and I will forgive you for not killing the hero sooner.  You do want to see your brother again don't you?"  Zant spoke.

"What?!  Shadow?" I barked.

"What?! I knew you couldn't be trusted!  You're a traitor!" Midna spoke out in rage.

"Yes..master I understand."  Shadow said emotionless.

I looked at Shadow in his imp form floated over to Midna and Link.  He began to form a dark black ball with blue mixed into it.

"Shadow don't do it!" I yelped even though he couldn't understand me.

"Very good Shadow now finish them." Zant commanded.

"No Zant!" Shadow yelled and shot it at the figure.

I was dropped and ran over to them and licked Shadows face once.  He looked at me and pet my muzzle smiling slightly.

"I'm sorry everyone."  He said.

"That was a big mistake on your part traitor!" The figure named Zant cried out.

He rose his arm toward Shadow and a red sphere began to form, I ran at him and took the shot.  I was knocked back, but got back up and jumped biting his arm.  He cried out in pain and flung me back and I hit the wall.  I growled tried to get up, but I was pinned down by some unknown force.

"You ungrateful half breed! I will teach you respect!"

He began to form another sphere, but bigger and shot it at me. I growled as he shot it, but then Shadow stepped in the way taking the hit this time. He fell to his knees, his face showed pain.  I looked at him in surprise and he just smiled weakly.

"Your feelings for this half breed will get you killed traitor."

"I am just as surprised as you are Zant...but I have learned a lot from my mission I was suppose to carry out..but..I can't go against friends..or people I care about..They may not forgive me for being a spy..but I am just grateful I got to spend the moments I had with all of them..I will save my brother somehow, but it won't be by killing my friends and pleasing you anymore!  I do have a heart and I choose to use it."  Shadow announced.

"So be it..return to the world of light you two covet."  Zant said.

Shadow was picked up and flung forward along with Midna.  They were held there as Zant rose the light spirit.  The spirit came forward with the ball of light toward them.  Midna and Shadow shrieked in pain.  We were then transported from the spring and I ended up loosing consciousness again before I knew where we were sent too.

After a while I woke up and we were in a field near the castle.  I stood up and looked down.  I was still a wolf but why was i?  I heard deep breathing, I looked behind and Midna was on my back.  Her skin was pale white, black and had blue spots.  I looked on Link's back and shadow was the same.  I frowned and looked down.

"Link, Kairi, hero and heroine chosen by the goddesses...Go to the princess locked away in the castle.  That princess holds the key that can unlock you both from your shadow form.." The spirits voice spoke out.

"I guess we head to the castle and find Zelda." I said.

"Yeah we need to hurry too.  We don't know how much time they have." Link informed.

"Hang on you two we are going to see if Zelda can help you both as well."

"Oh no take your time.." Shadow joked with a weak voice.

We both ran to the castle with the unconscious imps on our backs.
