It's a beautiful morning, the birds are chirping as Weiss wakes up. She then sits up and yawns as she stretches her arms. Unknown to Weiss, Ruby is right next to her with a whistle on her hand and wearing her school uniform.

Ruby then blows on the whistle, startling Weiss. "Gah!" Weiss screamed startled as she falls of her bed and onto the floor.

"Goooooood morning team RWBY!" Ruby yelled excitedly, "What in the world is wrong with you?" Weiss said, sitting on the floor.

"Now that you're awake we can officially begin our first order of business." Ruby said, Weiss then notices (Y/N) sleeping on the floor with his sleeping bag. "Why does he get to sleep!?" Weiss complained, seeing (Y/N) sleeping.

"Not for long." Ruby said with a smug smile.

Ruby walks next to the sleeping (Y/N) and blows her whistle, waking up (Y/N). "Gah!" (Y/N) yelled as he quickly sat up, his right hand on his chest.

"Gooooood morning, (Y/N)!" Ruby said with a smile, (Y/N) glaring at her as he stood up from the floor.

"Back to our first order of business." Ruby said, "Excuse me?" Weiss said, now standing up.

"Decorating!" Yang said, holding supplies in her hands.

"What?" Weiss said. "We still have to unpack." Blake said, holding up a brown luggage.

The luggage opens as the contents inside the luggage pours out onto the floor.

"And clean." Blake said, looking at the contents on the floor.

Weiss, looking grump as always, simply looked at them while (Y/N) simply stared at them with tired eyes. Ruby then blows her whistle next to them as Weiss and (Y/N) fell onto the floor.

"Alright! Weiss, Blake, Yang, (Y/N), and their fearless leader Ruby have begun their first mission. Banzai!" Ruby yelled, holding her fist up in the air.

"Banzai!" Both Blake and Yang said, holding their fists in the air as they're now both behind Ruby.

Weiss sighed as (Y/N) tiredly yawned.

They all soon got to decorating, Yang hanged a poster. Weiss, now in her uniform, hanged a painting of a forest with red leaves. Blake simply puts books in the bookshelf, she then grabs a book named 'Ninjas of Love'. Noticing the title of the book, her eyes widen as she hides the book.

Ruby, with Crescent Rose in it's scythe form, slices the purple curtain. Only to be stitched back later. (Y/N) just puts a somewhat harmless carnivorous plant with no stem in the corner of the room.

After finishing decorating, they all group together as they see the mess they created. The beds are all on top of each other.

"This...isn't going to work." Weiss said, seeing the beds jumbled together.

"It is a bit cramped." Blake said, "Maybe we should ditch some of our stuff." Yang suggested.

"Or we could ditch the beds." Ruby said, she then gasped. "And we could replace them with bunk beds." Ruby suggested.

"Um, that sounds incredibly dangerous." Weiss said cautiously, "And super awesome!" Yang said

"It does seem efficient." Blake said, agreeing to the plan.

"It's better than having the beds all jumbled up together." (Y/N) said, also agreeing to the plan.

"Well, we should put it to a vote." Weiss suggested, "Ha, I think we just did." Ruby said.

RWBY and (Y/N) quickly walked towards the beds and make the beds into bunk beds as they create loud noises. Once they finished, they group back together.

"Objective, complete." Ruby said.

The beds are then shown to be terribly made, a bunk bed is hanged from multiple ropes with a white large blanket on top as it sways from left and right.

The other bunk bed is resting on top of multiple books.

In reality, it's just beds on top of other beds that could possibly hurt someone.

"Alright, our second order of business is!..." Ruby said, pointing upwards. "Classes." Ruby said, sitting on her bed and binder on her lap as she's holding a pencil.

"Now, we have a few classes together today. At nine we've gotta be-" Ruby said, "What? Did you just say nine o'clock!?" Weiss asked, interrupting Ruby.

"Umm..." Ruby hesitated to answer, "It's 8:55, you dunce!" Weiss said.

Weiss then begins to sprint out of the dorm, RBY, (Y/N), and JNPR then peeks out of their dorms.

"Uhh, t-t-to class!" Ruby said, sprinting out of their dorm, followed by Blake, Yang, and (Y/N).

"Class? Wh-whaaa! Uullg!" Jaune said, his team falling on top of him. "We're gonna be late!" Jaune said as he stands up and sprints to class.

Team RWBY and (Y/N), JNPR as well, are now seen sprinting on Beacon Academy's courtyard as Ozpin and Glynda watch them. Glynda looks at her watch as Ozpin simply sips his drink.

"Monsters! Demons...Prowlers of the night. Yes, the creatures of Grimm have many names. But I, merely refer to them as prey." Professor Port said, Ruby sleeping as she snores, "Hu-hah! Haha." Professor Port laughed loudly as Ruby groggily wakes up and the crickets chirp.

"Uhh, and you shall too, upon graduating from this prestigious academy. Now as I was saying, Vale, as well as the other three kingdoms, are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world. Our planet is absolutely teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces." Professor Port said, walking from left to right.

"And that's where we come in. Huntsman! Huntresses..." Professor Port, clicking his tongue as he looks at Yang.

"Uhh, heheh..." Yang groaned as she is uncomfortable.

"Individuals who have sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves. From what you ask? Why...The very world!" Professor Port said, his fist up in the air.

"Eyyy-yeah!" A random student yelled, his fist also up in the air as everybody looked at him.

The side-character noticing that everybody is looking at him, he sits back down on his spot as he's embarrassed from getting attention from the whole class.

"That is what you are training to become." Professor Port said, continuing his lesson.

"But first, a story. A tale of a young, handsome, man. Me. When I was a boy, blah blah blah..." Professor Port said, his voice fading into the background.

Ruby is seen scribbling on paper as Weiss notices it.

"Despite smelling of cabbages, my grandfather was a wise man. 'Peter,' he told me, blah blah blah..." Professor Port said, his voice fading into the background again.

Ruby is seen again scribbling on the paper as she giggles to herself, Weiss looks towards Ruby as Ruby holds the paper up in the air, showing a badly drawing of Professor Port. Yang and Ruby laugh while (Y/N) struggles to contain his laughter as Weiss is annoyed. Their laughter is then stopped by Professor Port clearing his throat.

"In the end, the beowolf was no match for my sheer tenacity. And I returned to my village with the beast in captivity and my head held high. Celebrated, as a hero." Professor Port said, finishing his story as he bows.

"The moral of the story? A true huntsman must be honorable." Professor Port said.

Ruby literally breaks the laws of physics by balancing an apple on a book on a pencil while making a silly face, which annoys Weiss.

"A true huntsman must be dependable." Professor Port said.

Ruby is then seen to be sleeping, which makes Weiss angry.

"A true huntsman must be strategic...Well-educated...And wise." Professor Port said as Ruby picks her nose, which also makes Weiss shake with anger.

"So, who among you believes themselves to be the embodiment of these traits?" Professor Port said.

Weiss', shaking with anger, hand shoots up in the air. "I do, sir!" Weiss said.

"Well then, let's find out. Step forward, and face your opponent."Professor Port said as he looks at a cage, red piercing eyes glowing in the darkness.

Weiss, now in her combat skirt, stands in front of the cage that holds a mysterious Grimm, ready to be released out of the cage as Professor Port is standing next to the cage and holds his weapon.

"Gooo Weiss!" Cheered Yang, her fist in the air.

"Fight well!" Cheered Blake, holding two small flags with one saying 'RWBY' and the other saying '(Y/N) (L/N)'.

"You can do it!" Cheered (Y/N), giving her a thumbs up.

"Yeah, represent teeeam RWBY!" Cheered Ruby, arms spread out with excitement.

"Ruby, I'm trying to focus!" Weiss scolded, "Oh, sorry." Ruby apologized as she looks sheepishly.

"Alright. Let the match...begin!" Professor Port said, he swings down his weapons and breaks the lock, dropping the cage door and revealing a Boarbatusk, which immediately charges at Weiss.

She sidesteps out off the Boarbatusk's way as she strikes at it's side with no effect, readying for it's next attack. The Grimm stands distance away, studying it's enemy.

"Ha-ha, wasn't expecting that were you?" Professor Port said, hands behind his back.

"Hang in there Weiss!" Cheered Ruby.

Ignoring Ruby, Weiss dashes towards the oncoming Boarbatusk.

Weiss strikes the Boarbatusk's frontal skull, only to have Myrtenaster stuck between it's tusk. Weiss, still holding the hilt, is tossed around as she struggles to retrieve her rapier.

"Bold, new approach. I like it!" Professor Port praised.

"Come on Weiss, show it who's boss!" Ruby cheered.

Weiss looked towards Ruby as she glared at her, only for the Boarbatusk to turn it's head and rip the rapier from her grip. Myrtenaster lands far away from it's owner, who is knocked down towards the ground as she slides on the floor by the Grimm's tusk.

"Oho,  now what will you do without your weapon?" Professor Port asked.

Weiss looks up to see the Boarbatusk charging, she rolls out of the way just in time to avoid getting trampled and make it crash to a desk. Weiss then rushes and slides to get her rapier back.

"Weiss, go for it's belly! There's no armor underneath-" Ruby said.

"Stop telling me what to do!" Weiss snapped.

Ruby's happy expression was then replaced by a saddened one. Meanwhile, the Boarbatusk leaps into the air and rolls into a ball, spinning rapidly in the air and landing on the ground, consistently gaining speed until it launches itself towards Weiss. As it comes closer, Weiss activates her glyph in front of her and blocks the roll, exposing the Boarbatusk's stomach. Leaping up into the black colored glyph behind her, she leaps towards the stunned Boarbatusk and drives the rapier into the Grimm's stomach as it squeals in pain while Weiss gasps in relief. Finally, the squeals fall silent as the Boarbatusk stops moving.

"Bravo! Braa-vo! It appears we are indeed in the presence of a true huntress in training." Professor Port praised as Weiss pants.

"I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today. Be sure to cover the assigned readings and stay vigilant. Class dismissed." Professor Port said.

Weiss glares at Ruby then leaves the classroom.

"Sheesh, what's with her?" Asked Jaune, (Y/N) just shrugged.

"Weiss!" Ruby yelled as Weiss turned around.

"What?" Weiss asked, clearly annoyed about Ruby

"What's wrong with you? Why are you being-" Ruby asked.

"What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you? You're supposed to be a leader and all you've been so far is a nuisance." Weiss said with anger.

Ruby scoffed, "What did I do?" Ruby asked.

"That's just it, you've done nothing to earn your position. Back in the forest, you acted like a child and you've only continued to do so!" Weiss said.

"Weiss, where is this coming from? What happened to all the talk about working together? I thought you believed in acting as a team." Ruby said.

"Not a team led by you. I've studied, and trained, and quite frankly, I deserve better." Weiss said, she turned around with her arms crossed as Ruby attempted to reach out for Weiss.

"Ozpin made a mistake." Weiss said, hurting Ruby emotionally as Ruby pulled her hand back.

Weiss then walked away somewhere else, leaving a saddened Ruby. Ruby turned around, only to meet Ozpin suddenly appearing out of nowhere.

"Hmm. That didn't seem to go very well." Ozpin said, stating the obvious.

"Is she right? Did you make a mistake?" Ruby asked.

"That remains to be seen." Ozpin said.

Weiss is seen walking. Seeing Professor Port looking at the sun setting, she walks towards him.

"Professor Port." Weiss said, getting the attention of the professor.

"Ah, Miss Schnee. And to what do I owe this fine pleasure?" Professor Port asked.

"I-I enjoyed your lecture." Weiss said, complimenting Professor Port.

"Of course you did, child; you have the blood of a true huntress in you." Professor Port said.

"You really think so?" Weiss asked with hope.

"Most surely. Hmm, something's troubling you." Professor Port said.

"Yes, sir." Weiss said.

"Dear girl, confess to me your strife." Professor Port said.

"Well, I-I think I should've been the leader of team RWBY." Weiss said.

Professor Port simply stared at her before speaking.

"That's preposterous." Professor Port said.

"What do you mean?" Ruby asked Ozpin.

"I mean it's only been one day. Ruby, I've made more mistakes than any man, woman, and child on this planet. But at this moment, I would not consider your appointment to leader to be one of them." Ozpin said as Ruby listens, he then leans towards Ruby's face until he stops, inches away from her face and committing any crime.

"Do you?" Ozpin asked.

"Excused me?" Weiss said, insulted by Professor Port's comment.

"I've believed in Professor Ozpin for many years, and the man's never once led me astray." Professor Port explained.

"So would just blindly accept his decision even after seeing how exceptional I am?" Weiss said.

"With all due respect, your exceptional skill on the battlefield is matched only by your poor attitude." Professor Port said.

"How dare you!" Weiss said, insulted by Professor Port again.

"My point exactly. I see a girl before me who has spent her entire getting exactly what she wanted." Professor Port explained.

"That's not even remotely true." Weiss said, closing her arms and eyes. "Well, not entirely true." Weiss said, opening her eyes.

"Being a team leader isn't just a title you carry into battle, but a badge you wear constantly. If you are not always performing at your absolute best, then what reason do you give others to follow you?" Ozpin explained.

"So the outcome did not fall in your favor. Do you really believe that acting in such a manner would cause those in power to reconsider their decision? So instead of fretting about what you don't have, savor what you do. Hone your skills, perfect every technique, and be not the best leader, but the best person you can be." Professor Port said as Weiss listened.

"You've been burdened with a daunting responsibility, Ruby. I advise you to take some time, to think about how you will uphold it." Ozpin said as Ruby thought about it.

Ruby then walked away from Ozpin. She then saw Professor Port walk away from Weiss as she stayed standing.

The dorm's door creaks open, Weiss then enters the room as the rest of the team is sleeping. Yang is snoring while (Y/N) is sleeping in his sleeping bag in the middle of the room. Carefully not to wake them up, she walks towards Ruby's bed and finds her sleeping with books around her as she holds a pencil. Weiss clears her throat as she moves Ruby, waking her up.

Ruby snores then gurgles and wakes up, "Weiss! I-I was studying and then I fell asleep. I'm sorry." Ruby explained.

Weiss puts her hand on her mouth and shushes her, silencing Ruby.

"How do you take your coffee?" Weiss asked, she then takes her hand of Ruby's mouth.

"Uh, I-I don't." Ruby said

"Answer the question." Weiss said.

"Uhh! Cream and five sugars!" Ruby quickly said.

Weiss sighed, "Don't move." Weiss said.

Weiss went under the best as she brought a mug with coffee in it.

"Here." Weiss said, handing the coffee to Ruby.

"Um, thanks, Weiss." Ruby said, thanking her for the coffee.

"Ruby, I think you have what it takes to be a leader. Just know, that I am going to be the best teammate you'll ever have. Good luck studying." Weiss said, making Ruby smile.

Weiss then seemingly climbs down, only to come back.

"That's wrong by the way." Weiss said, pointing at the incorrect answer and then finally goes back to her respective bed.

"Hey, Ruby?" Weiss said, standing outside the dorm as the door is open.

"Uh-huh?" Ruby hummed.

"I always wanted bunk beds as a kid." Weiss said, she leaves the dorm and closes the door.

Ruby then faces back to her books as she grins and goes back to studying.
