Konichiwa mina! I am posting a new novel! Yay! :) This novel is a short story which I wrote based on the hero's journey. (I might continue this novel if it's a success ;)! )

All the events and plot of this heroic myth are based on my thoughts and ideas(which means that everything is original ^_^).

Long ago, after the great universe was created, Ermin, the god of the universe, gave one specific planet life and perfection. That planet was called Earth. For many years, the people who inhabited the prosperous planet glorified the formidable gods.

However, as time flew by like the speed of light, the humans began to squander their infinite time. Nonetheless, the people also forgot about the gods and only praised themselves for their knowledge and talents. Infuriated, Ermin declared, "The humans who I created want to waste the precious time I've granted them? So be it! From this day forward, I will diminish time, hour by hour, each day!"

"But Lord Ermin, the humans are creatures of wisdom! I cannot allow that to happen," the Greek goddess Athena blurted out with astonishment. Nevertheless, due to Ermin's superiority, the goddess of the moon, Artemis was imposed to reduce time each day as dawn fell.

Then, one day, in a small yet beautiful village, where the grass was always lush and the magnificent birds of the grand sky flew in flocks as they blanketed over the Earth, lived a wise girl. The girl was called Angelina. Angelina was a kind and intelligent girl, and was able to detect the divergence in time that flowed, unlike the foolish-"wise" people of her village.

"Mom, dad, I believe that time is decreasing! The gods must be displeased with us," exclaimed Angelina to her parents with concern after observing dusk fall day after day, knowing that the only beings who had such immense power were the gods. However, Angelina's parents didn't believe her as she was only 15, which was considered to be young.

"Angelina, how could you say that? We are perfect," said Angelina's parents in response as their eyes glinted with disapproval.

"Why won't you believe me," muttered Angelina as a tear like a crystal fell down her regal face.

Not long after, every villager heard of Angelina's exclamation. Soon, the people filled with rage as they whispered and glared at Angelina with disbelief.

"How can that girl even think of such a foolish idea," hissed a glamorous lady as she pointed a finger at poor Angelina.

"Naïve girl, leave us at once," said yet another.

Soon, Angelina was left alone outside of the village in the cold where the trees howled the secrets of the gods. As tears began to overflow, Angelina looked back at what was no longer her home. Suddenly, a soft, shimmering, silver light shone in front of Angelina. For a moment, nothing dared to move, even the trees that danced stopped as if to respond to Angelina's shock.

Then, the light began to form into the shape of a tall, elegant woman. "Greetings Angelina, I am Athena, goddess of wisdom. I was amazed by your intelligence and I've come here to tell you something important," said the shimmering goddess.

"T-thank you, it is an honour to meet you," stuttered Angelina as she wiped her tears.

"Now Angelina, if you want to save your people, despite what they did to you, find the orb of time in the forest of Light and present it to Ermin, god of the universe," explained Athena. "The orb of time is a paramount relic Ermin made for the humans so that if the humans ever maddened the gods, the orb could be presented to Ermin for forgiveness."

"O-okay, but how am I supposed to get to Ermin," asked Angelina with a shiver as a breeze passed by.

"Here, take this. This amulet will guide you to Ermin's palace in heaven," said Athena with a gentle smile as she handed an amber amulet to Angelina. "Farewell, and remember, true strength is not from power alone."

Slowly, the glistening goddess began to vanish into thin air as the bits of magic left behind transformed into gorgeous, sparkling butterflies. After, Angelina set off hopelessly to find the orb. Walking day after day, Angelina hiked dangerous mountains, swiftly ran from predators of the wild and sheltered from storms. In addition to the natural disasters, each day, time was slowly decreasing.

Soon, Angelina arrived at the forest of Light which was the contrast of its name. The forest was dark and mysterious, with unusual colours and odd sounds. With a deep breath, Angelina courageously stepped into the unknown forest.

In the forest, Angelina felt as if eyes were watching her every movement as a menacing owl swooped down at Angelina with its razor-edged talons every now and then. After walking and avoiding fallen trees, Angelina suddenly noticed a glaring, green gleam shooting up towards the titanic sky like laser.

"That must be where the orb is," exclaimed Angelina as she panted from running miles. Quickly, Angelina fearlessly dashed through the woods towards the lazing light. However, as Angelina approached the orb, a gigantic Cyclops came into view. The creature stood ten feet tall with veins popping out of his massive muscles. Astonished and frightened, Angelina began to back away as the forest echoed eerie screeches.

"Who's there," boomed the Cyclops' metallic voice.

"H-hello there," stammered Angelina. As soon as the Cyclops spotted Angelina, it smirked with glinting eyes and said, "Why, if it isn't another meal for my stomach!"

"You don't want to eat me! I've seen much more incredible Cyclopes than you, I can tell you about it," said Angelina thinking quickly. "One of them was able to chain itself and break free!"

"I could do that," sneered the Cyclops with jealousy. In no time, the foolish Cyclops chained itself, however, when the Cyclops realized he couldn't break free, he screamed in agony. "You, you tricked me!"

Promptly, Angelina grabbed the orb and ran away. As she ran, Angelina took out the amulet Athena had given her and wished for it to take her to Ermin. Without notice, a vortex of space enveloped Angelina and a figure came into view.

"I have come to assist you to get to Ermin. I am Silvanos, the forest dweller god," said the figure with a smile. Not long after, a golden throne with a blazing god came into view. Quickly, Silvanos, the forest dweller god bowed down ever so slightly. "My lord, she's here."

"Very well," replied the god as he gestured Silvanos away. "Step forward, little girl!"

Frightened, yet in awe, Angelina took a deep breath and walked towards the god. "Hello, my name is Angelina and I've come here to present the orb of time to you. I hope you can stop diminishing time," said Angelina with her last bit of strength as she looked around the room. The room was indeed extraordinary. Unimaginable melodies and colours filled the space.

Then, reluctantly, Ermin decided to stop decreasing time due to Angelina's bravery. Afterwards, Ermin chanted a spell which sent Angelina back to her village. As Angelina slowly walked through the gates, a crowd of people rushed towards Angelina as they shouted with excitement.

"The goddess Athena told us about your journey! We're sorry we didn't believe you Angelina. You are our hero," exclaimed Angelina's parents in unison.

From that day forward, the villagers began to worship the gods, and Angelina became a renowned hero. Also, because it took Angelina twenty four days to bring the orb to Ermin, the gods agreed to give the humans twenty four hours each day, in remembrance of Angelina's actions.
