Meredith's POV

Just then Charlie spun back around. "Meredith please come with me. Let's go home and talk. I want to be with you."

"Charlie I...I'm sorry I can't. What you just did was so sweet but you left. I've moved on. I can't just leave Alex now. I'm sorry."

"That's ok. But you could've said that before I kissed you."

I laughed. "I'll see you soon Charlie."

"Bye." Charlie trudged off again and climbed onto Blackjack. I watched him fly off. I waved at the little black dot in the sky and then stood there a couple minutes. Then I walked back into the gym.

"Hi Mere. Are you ok?" Alex asked me.

"Yeah I'm fine but thanks. Charlie left."

"Oh." He looked at a loss for words.

"Come on let's dance," I said trying to forget Charlie. As we were dancing all I could think about was how sweet he was to come all the way here. Stop it Meredith you already blew him off I scolded himself. I kept picturing Alex as Charlie, I stared into his sea green eyes.

"I missed you," I smiled leaning in for another kiss.

"What?" Alex asked pulling back.

"Oh! Sorry I was...its nothing..."

"Meredith are you sure you're ok?" He asked worried.

I put my face in my hands. Taking a deep breath I finally faced Alex.

"No I'm not ok. Alex this isn't fair to you. I really like Charlie ok and I'm sorry. You're a really sweet guy but Charlie and I have a long history together. I just don't think this is gonna work out. I really want to still be friends though. I had a lot of fun with you." I breathed a sigh of relief for finally getting that done.

"I understand. I had a lot of fun with you too Meredith. I'll see Ya around," Alex answered. He gave me a hug and left.

I ran back to the table to get my stuff. I saw Ellie sitting there talking to TJ still.

"What's the hurry?" She asked. "Where's Alex?"

"Charlie came. I broke up with Alex. I'm going back to camp. Bye!" I ran out of the gym. Using my Aphrodite powers I whistled for a Pegasus. I hopped on and flew back to camp.

The Pegasus dropped me off in front of the Aphrodite Cabin. I ran in and took off my heels and changed into some sandals. I also quick wiped off my makeup and grabbed a sweatshirt. It was Charlie's actually. A couple of my siblings were sitting on the bed.

"Is it true Charlie's back?" One asked.

"Was the dance fun?"

"Have you blown off your boyfriend yet?"

"Yes, yes and yes," I answered. "See Ya!"

I walked out and down to the lake. I saw Charlie sitting on the beach by himself. It was dark and I could see him by the full moon. I stopped and smiled.

"Hi," I said to him.

Charlie's POV

"Hi."

I turned and saw Meredith standing there in the moonlight. She was wearing my old Nicks sweatshirt that was about 10x too big for her and no makeup, but I had still never thought she looked more beautiful.

"Hi." I answered back. She walked over and sat down next to me.

"I missed you," she said.

"I missed you too," I said.

"I dumped Alex at the dance."

I paused for a second. "So you're single then?"

"Haha. Yeah, I guess I am."

Is now a good time? Isn't there like some rule you don't ask someone out 20 minutes after their breakup? But she made it pretty clear she likes me....

"Hey Mere I was thinking, ummm, well, would you like to go out some time?" I said really fast.

"I'm sorry, I didn't catch that," she laughed.

"Would-you-like-to-go-out-sometime?"

"You mean on a date?" She asked.

"Yeah I guess."

"As in be your girlfriend?"

"Well unless you don't want to..."

"Yes! I'd love to be your girlfriend Charlie! Why else did you think I came all the way here you moron?" We both laughed.

I put my arm around her and pulled her closer.

"I love you Mere," I whispered.

"I love you too Charlie."
