The next day, the two Koreans walked over to the parents of the younger. Jaemin was nervous as ever, despite Jeno trying to calm him down.
He was meant to move to Canada after this, after all.
Once they arrived and Jaemin knocked at the door, an elderly woman opened it, smiling at the two boys. There was a hint of sorrow behind her eyes as well, which made Jaemin worried.
They got seated down in the living room, right across the couch, where Jaemin's father was, the two young men intertwining hands.
It was weird to see the both of Jaemin's parents together without fighting. Maybe they agreed on keeping calm when the boy's would come, maybe they were already okay with each other, Jaemin didn't know. The boy wasn't inside that house since he graduated.
"Ms. Na, Mr. Na..." Jeno started after he took a deep breath and squeezed his lover's hand gently. He gave a look to Jaemin, before turning his gaze back to the boy's parents.
"I'd love to take your son to Canada with me... As selfish as it sounds, I don't want to lose him again..." He said, Jaemin's head falling down. He knew his parents would disagree.
Since he was a kid, his parents were strict. Despite the fact that they didn't really care about the boy, they had made some rules in the household and Jaemin had to follow them. In between those, there was a rule about him not going over to his friends' or sleepovers.
He heard the both of them gasp. Was it a good sign?
"Jeno... Just... Just promise us that you'll bring him back for Christmas and the new year at least..." Jaemin's mother said, the boy snapping his head up to look at his parents.
Did she really just agree? Like, yeah, he wanted to go with Jeno so bad. The thought of them being apart again just made his heart ache. But he didn't really expect his parents to agree to this. After all, Jaemin had a well paid job and a nice apartment. He had everything here in Korea.
The hockey player nodded hastily, reassuring the older woman, that just gave them a sad smile. Her son wasn't a kid anymore. He was a grown man and she knew that she wasn't in the place to make decisions for him.
"Despite the fact that I don't really like this idea..." Jaemin's father started and the boy became nervous once again. The old man had always had the final word, and if he'd now say that Jaemin's staying here, well, then the two would have to say goodbye to each other once again.
"Live happily in Canada and don't forget to call us once in a while... Now Jaemin, go to your room and get the rest of your things, I'll talk to Jeno." The boy's father said, sending his son off.
And so like that, with the permission of Jaemin's parents, the two went to pack the remaining of the boy's belongings. Both were extra excited, but they knew they had to tell the news to their friends too.
Heading downstairs again was Jeno, meeting Jaemin's mother on his way. She stopped him and gave him a pat on the shoulder, taking a better look at his face.
He grew up a lot since she last saw him and was definitely handsome and much more mature. Maybe it was the fact that he had to independently move to Canada, maybe the hockey did that to him, she had no clue, but he really did change.
"Jeno-ya, please take care of our son... We didn't quite have the time to do that since he was a child, so please do that for us..." She said, guilt creeping up her voice. The boy nodded gently, as if he never actually took care of him.
"I'll do my best, Ms. Na. Jaemin is in really good hands. We'll come back for Christmas." He said, smiling at her. At that point, Jaemin was already struggling with his luggage, taking it down the stairs. Jeno hurriedly went to help him and took the luggage down the stairs, letting his boyfriend say goodbye to his parents.
It was pretty quick, as the boy didn't have a very strong bond with his parents, but they all definitely did shed a tear or two. Jeno himself got engulfed in a hug from Jaemin's father for a second, before the two of them were free to go.
Neither one of them looked back as they slowly left the neighborhood.
Tomorrow by this time, Jaemin will finally start a new life.

I'm so sorry that this took so long. I had no idea of how to write the ending.
This is the end of the story.
I'll write an additional epilogue, as I have a little something in my mind, but again, I don't know how long that'll take.
I want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who read this book. I really appreciate every single one of you. Thank you for everything.
Also I'm quite happy to announce y'all that I'll be starting a new book after I finish off this one. I'll let you choose between Doil and WooSan, as I'm currently preparing these two.
It's been quite a rollercoaster but I'm kind of happy of how it turned out, I hope you enjoyed this book as well.
See you by the epilogue!
Lots of love,
Maw 💞
