A week has passed and the three boys were just chilling in their apartment, trying to cool themselves with icepacks and ice cream. The summer already started and the heat was getting unbearable.
Jaemin got a day off from his work, but decided to sort out some of the papers at home, signing some of them and setting them aside to give them to CEO Jung to review later. Being a secretary was sometimes a hustle, but afterall, Mr. Jung was a kind man and they had a pretty good relationship with each other.
Jaemin had just two things to do through the day. Bring some coffee to the CEO and sign some papers. He sometimes had to be at the meetings too to take notes for the CEO, but usually, it was just the first two.
He loved his job. It wasn't draining, yet it wasn't that easy. It was just good for Jaemin to handle. And it paid good too, he had enough money for him to run the apartment and also to save some for his vacation.
Renjun soon appeared by the other's side, placing a bowl of cold fruit above the papers. Jaemin signed the last paper, gave it away and looked up at Renjun, smiling.
"Thanks Junnie. I'm done now, do you have any plans?" Jaemin asked silently, putting the papers in the folder. He had to give it to Jaehyun later to review them.
"No, we actually wanted to ask if ya wanna chill with us at the beach..." Renjun suggested. Jaemin nodded and stood up, following Renjun out to the living room, where the things were already prepared.
Jaemin unconsciously counted the towels and frowned, counting the boys. Why were there five towels? Is someone tagging along?
"Are we ready to go?"
Jaemin's breath hitched, his eyes widened. The way too familiar voice echoed through his mind for some longer before he brought himself to turn around and face those dark, doe eyes he used to adore when the night came and no-one could see.
The boy's eyes started to water. He couldn't believe that his love has returned. He slowly walked over to the boy whose grin was bigger than ever. The face that used to be flawless having few scars already got him feel nostalgic.
Jaemin suddenly remembered those old school days where he would daydream about having Jeno as his boyfriend, where he finally got to talk to him and also the hard goodbye that came along with loving Jeno.
He was speechless. He had to touch the taller's cheek to believe that the boy was there, that he wasn't just a dream nor a hologram, nothing the two Chinese boys would make up.
Jeno grew taller, stronger and totally looked more mature than before. The boy's hair was dyed a lighter shade of brown, probably to fit into the American standards, even though it was nothing new to see Asians there.
It was 2020 afterall.
"I'm here, sweetheart..." Jeno whispered, his arms wrapping around the shorter's waist gently.
"And I am too, now let's go or else I'll die." Another voice was heard, shocking the boy, who soon noticed the one and only Mark Lee.
Jaemin was never this happy...
