I sat in the middle of the bench in the atrium trying to get a glimpse of Kanna. It felt like I was in a movie cliche. I grabbed my phone and pressed the power button hoping that it would miraculously turn on.

"Phone Died again?" - Said Kanna as she tapped my back

"Where have you been?" - I spoke as I turned to face her

"I've been looking around the shops when suddenly you disappeared. I tried calling you but I couldn't reach your phone"- Kanna said while leading me away from my bench.

"Oh, I got caught by the crowd." -I gestured to her that my phone died again, as usual.

"By the way, I just told my parents that I'm visiting a friend for a couple of days so they won't be expecting me home until the day after tomorrow."- she excitedly told me as she grabbed my arms pulling me away towards the mall exit

Our trip was very last minute and I had used up all of my allowances and had to dip some from my savings. I haven't told my parents that we were going home hoping to surprise them. Kanna, on the other hand, told her parents that she should be home two days after today so that she'll be free to spend time with me. I actually have not planned on how I'm going to tell my parents that Kanna would be staying home for a couple of days. My backup plan would be a hotel but the Christmas Holidays have made it ridiculously hard to find a vacancy.

"So what now?" - I said to Kanna as the freezing cold outside the station crept through my thick jacket.

"We still have enough time before the last buses. Do you want to take a walk in Ohori Park?"- Kanna said gesturing to a distant small lake a couple of blocks from Hakata Station

"Yeah Ohori Park would be great, we can take the Nishitestu Bus from there." - I replied as I slowly calculated on the best way to get there.

The walk to Ohori park was cold and yet it was pleasantly warm as Kanna held my arm as we walked along the way. The snow was slowly falling as our shoes trod across the thin layer of snow creating a soft crunching sound with every step.
