The drowning bass of club music made talking almost impossible, I had to use hand signals to communicate with my friends, a feat worth noting. Most of the group were already shaking it off on the dance floor leaving me and Kanna to watch for their bags. The drinks had evolved from the friendly warm beer to the strong imposing scent of whiskey and cola. I was already dazed when I left the Yakiniku restaurant, and I was making great efforts to maintain my appearance of being sober, I could tell most of the group had left their sobriety when we left the restaurant as Himouro had already made several wild attempts to take command of the DJ's box much to the dismay of the club's security, he had gone all in and scored us a VIP pass at the club, there was nothing the security could do but play along with his antics.

Kanna was sitting beside me, talking animatedly while holding her glass of whiskey, I honestly don't know what she was talking about, the music was too loud so I just nodded every couple minutes or so, she didn't seem to mind, The whiskey had already gotten to her and she was treating it like soda. She looked really cute amidst the sparkling dance floor lights. I could tell she was the type of girl who would make you smile no matter how depressed you were.

Akari and Mariko were making their way back from the dance floor visibly exhausted and craving for more drinks, I could tell they left Himouro behind, probably tired of his advances to get laid.

Kanna was excitedly tugging me to go dancing just as Akari had seated herself beside me. Akari was about to offer another shot of whiskey when Kanna grabbed me out of my chair and pulled me towards the dance floor, I had no chance to explain to Akari and it was confusing because I didn't need to explain anything at all. I looked back at Akari and all I could see back were her spiteful eyes.

A chill went down my spine as I tried to make sense of Akari's increasing hostility towards me, I didn't know where it was coming from. I hardly had enough time to think about it when Kanna started dancing in front of me. I could tell that the alcohol had already hit her by the way she was hitting on me. She was already gyrating wildly and grabbing me everywhere. The beat on the dance floor was also egging me on and I soon found myself dancing with her.

The euphoria of the drowning dance music, the sparkling and strobing lights, the rising heat from my chest, and the excitement of Kanna who is so close to me, it felt as if my life suddenly unraveled in a blast.

For one quick second, I locked eyes with Kanna as she was wildly dancing with the beat and it felt like everything slowed down. In that instant, I could see the warm calm wildfire in her eyes and as she slowly approached me in an embrace I felt the urge to kiss her.

It may have been a second, a minute or an hour, I did not know. I was lost in her warm embrace and my mind had drifted as if I had transcended to heaven. I could taste a tang of strawberry along with a hint of whiskey. Her arms had wandered behind me and I could feel her nails digging into my back. I closed my eyes instinctively as I was pulled by the passionate gravity of our kiss.
