"first" is very happy about the day.

Right now, she is a creature fighting against all the universe. She is fighting for momentum and velocity to find the right position.

She uses her thigh and abdomen muscles to bend forward and tip forward. She will not be able to move her feet for quite a while. When she has a fair bend, she flings back her arm downward and back that translates the speed to her head.

The hairs back there do as they have often done. The hair flicks and leaves a small section of a single hair floating off.

She allows her legs to bend further and draws the backward spinning arms upward. That pushes the center of gravity lower.

With the position of the feet and legs pivoting the body arcing forward, she uses the forward motion of her arms to gain forward momentum that will be translated to the entire body.

Once the forward momentum is secured, she moves one foot forward.

The rotation of the arms is now complete. She can touch the floor with her hand. She will soon have four contact points with the floor.

She moves like a spider or crab creature low along the floor.

When close to Ami, she flips her hips under (sending one leg behind Ami). It is a gamble. She has an excess speed and rotational issues to resolve.

It resolves. She grabs Ami by the hip, and then by the opposite arm. Ami was about one third backwards, not much momentum compared to "first".

"first" uses her arms to draw Ami in and down into her lap. It slows the momentum of "first", and accomplishes the catch of Ami in mid fall. At a distance of fifteen feet away from where 'first' started.

"hubby" and "second" have seen very fast Lans. This is not too unusual. However, they look at each other, because both are really quite sure. "first" starting moving to catch Ami before Ami showed visible signs (before the eyes dilated).
