The Doctor lands the TARDIS and rushes over to the door, opening it and stopping. Rose and I make eye contact, both of us trying not to laugh at the huge, blue storage container that was right outside. "Ah..." the Doctor murmurs, shutting the doors. "Oi, shut it, you two," he points between Rose and me, hurrying over and setting the TARDIS right before running to the doors again. "Ah!" he beams, stepping out.

"Come on," I beam at Rose, grabbing her hand and dragging her out.

Shivering a bit at the chilly air and letting my light flow around me, I look around at the cute little neighborhood we'd landed in as I bounce on my toes excitedly. It was so thrilling to see everything through my 'new' eyes. "Calm down," Kas chuckles, putting his hands on my shoulders from behind to stop my bouncing and pressing a kiss to the back of my head.

"I can't help it!" I smile, turning to face him. "This is my first trip with me as, well, like this," I squeal, gesturing to myself and he shakes his head with a smile, but I tilt my head thoughtfully. "Come here," I grab his shoulders and pull him down to be more at my height, making him raise an eyebrow. "Shush," I press a kiss to his cheek before cupping his neck and amping my light up a bit to heal the marks on both of us, making him groan quietly. "There," I smirk, letting go of him and he pouts just slightly - Kas has always been sensitive to my light.

"So, near future, yeah?" Rose cuts in and I look to see a Shayne Ward poster.

The Doctor takes my hand in his and intertwines our fingers, "I had a passing fancy, only it didn't pass - it stopped," he drags me with him down the road, making me snort. "Thirtieth Olympiad!" he holds his free hand out toward a banner.

"No way!" Rose gapes at it, a wide smile forming as she grabs onto the Doctor's free arm. "Why didn't we think of this? That's great!" she squeals.

"This is amazing!" I beam, gripping Kas' arm with my free hand.

"Ask and ye shall receive," he smirks, squeezing my hand and I roll my eyes playfully. "Only seems like yesterday a few naked Greek blokes were tossing a discuss about, wrestling each other in the sand with crowds stood about, begging- no, wait a minute..." he trails off 'thoughtfully'. "That was club med," he laughs, nudging me as Rose and I giggle. "Just in time for the opening doo-dah ceremony tonight! I thought you girls would like that! Last one they had in London was dynamite - Wembley, 1948. I loved it so much, I went back and watched it all over again! Fella carrying the torch, lovely chap... what was his...?"

I peer around the Doctor and notice that Rose wasn't standing there anymore. Frowning, I look around to see she'd stopped at a lamp post. I let go of Kas and move over, tilting my head curiously when I see several missing person's posters, all with children on them. I roll my eyes when Kas doesn't notice either of us as he goes on about the torch bloke. "Mark...? John...? Mark...?" he murmurs.

"John Mark, honey!" I call back, sharing an exasperated look with Rose, who was trying to hold in her giggles.

"Legs like pipe cleaners, but strong as a whippet!"

"Doctor!" Rose calls.

"And in those days, everybody had a tea party to go to!"

"Doctor?"

"Did you ever have one of those little cakes with the crunchy ball bearings on top?"

"Kas, you should really have a look at this!" I call, shaking my head with a smile.

"Do you know those... those things?" he finally comes over, wrapping his arms around my shoulders from behind and pulling me tight against him, leaning his chin on my head. "Nobody else in this entire galaxy's ever even bothered to make edible ball bearings! Genius!" he beams, squeezing me and I snort loudly. "What's taking them, do you think?" he asks curiously, swaying us from side to side. "Snatching children from a thoroughly ordinary street like this? ... why's it so cold? Is something reducing the temperature?"

"It says they all went missing this week..." Rose mutters, looking over the posters with a frown. "Why would a person do something like this?"

"What makes you think it's a person?" Kas retorts, pulling away from me and slipping his coat off, putting it around me.

"I'm fine," I roll my eyes.

"You can't go round glowing, it'll freak the Humans out," he rolls his eyes back at me, tugging on the lapels.

I smirk, "are you sure that's the reason you don't want me using my light?" I ask, rolling the sleeves up so they weren't so far past my hands.

"That- shut up," he huffs, his cheeks going an adorable shade of pink.

"Hm," I tilt my head from side to side, pulling him down by his shirt collar and kissing him lightly. "Nope," I smile.

The sound of a door slamming close by makes me jump, and I slap the Doctor's chest when he chuckles. Turning, I see a woman was dumping her recycling at the end of the drive outside her house. She casts fearful looks around the neighborhood before hurrying inside, making me frown slightly. I let out a yelp when Kas drags me down the street and over to a house on the other side. "Doctor!" I half-protest, half-giggle as he pulls me into the front garden before wrinkling my nose at the stench in the air. "Oh, that's awful!" I groan, covering my nose with my free hand.

"El, feel this," the Doctor pulls me over to a football goal.

I nearly gag when the smell gets stronger before my eyebrows furrow, "hold on, what's that?" I kneel down, holding my hand out and the Doctor does the same beside me.

The two of us smile, giggling at the tingling sensation all around the football goal. "Tickles," the Doctor beams.

"What's your game?" a voice demands from behind, making me jump.

The Doctor and I spin around to see a man glaring at us. Kas fumbles, "my... um... Snakes and Ladders? Quite good at... Squash... reasonable," he shrugs and I cover my mouth, trying not to laugh when the man gives him a thoroughly unimpressed look. "I'm... being facetious, aren't I?" he 'winces', glancing at me and I giggle when he sends me a discreet wink. "There's no call for it," he shakes his head.

The man's glare darkens and my eyes widen slightly as I step in front of the Doctor. The two of us back away as Kas tries to come up with a cover for us, "I'm... I'm a police officer!" he tries. "I've got a badge, and... and a police car... you don't have to get... I can- I can prove it! Just hold on!" he feels around the pockets in his coat that was still around me for the psychic paper.

"We've had plenty of coppers poking around here and you don't - or sound - like any of them!" the man shouts.

The Doctor points to me, "see, look! I've got a colleague! Lewis!"

I give the man a secretive wink before rolling my eyes at the Doctor. Pulling the psychic paper out, I hold it up to the man and hoping that it says whatever it needs to since I can't exactly read it. "Well, she looks less like a copper than you do!" the man scoffs, looking me over.

Frowning, I look down at my outfit... I think I look rather cute today, actually. I pout, folding my arms and Kas smiles, putting his hand on my lower back, "training, new recruit," he tells the man, his thumb stroking circles that send shivers up my spine. "It was either that or hairdressing, so..." he trails off.

I smile when I see Rose coming over and I wave happily, making her shake her head as she giggles. A woman comes out of her house, walking over and folding her arms, "what are you going to do?"

An old woman comes over as well, "the police have knocked on every door - no clues, no leads, nothing!"

"Look, kids run off sometimes, alright? That's what they do-"

The old lady cuts the man off, "Dale Hicks in your garden," she points to him. "Playing with your Tommy, and then... poof!" she mimes something disappearing. "Right in front of me! Like he was never there! There's no need to look any further than this street! It's right here amongst us!"

"Why don't we-" the Doctor tries.

"Why don't we start with him?" yet another woman asks, pointing at a council worker, who is - if his nametag is to be believed - named Kel... blimey, this is getting ridiculous. "There's been all sorts like him in this street, day and night!"

"Fixing things up for the Olympics!"

"Yeah, and taking an awful long time about it!"

"I'm of the opinion that all we've gotta do is just-"

"You don't... what you just said, that's slander!"

"I don't care what it is!"

"I think we need to just-"

"I want an apology off her!"

"Stop picking on him!"

"Yeah, stop picking on me!"

"And stop pretending to be blind! It's evil!"

"I don't believe in evil!"

"Oh no, you just believe in tarmackers with sack loads of kidnapped kiddies in their van-!"

"Ay, ay, ay, that's not what she's saying!"

"Would you stop ganging up on me!?"

"Feeling guilty, are we?"

"Fingers on lips!" the Doctor finally shouts over their arguing and puts his own finger on his lips, glaring around at everyone and daring them not to obey him.

I bite my lip, eyeing Kas up and feeling my face heat up a bit. Looking down, he smirks when he sees my expression and raises an eyebrow. I obey his order quickly and he sends me a wink before giving Rose a look. She hurriedly puts her finger over her lips and tries not to laugh when she sees my flushed face. I narrow my eyes at her playfully and she snorts, nudging me with her foot.

After everyone's quiet, the Doctor straightens, "in the last six days: three of your children have been stolen - snatched out of thin air, right?"

"Um... can I?" the old lady gestures with her free hand to her lips.

The Doctor motions for her to go ahead and I try not to laugh at the absurdity of the situation. Noticing my struggle, Kas pinches my side lightly and I let out a quiet squeak when it tickles and huff when he smirks. My attention is brought back to the old lady when she starts talking, "look around you... it was a safe street till it came," she gestures around the neighborhood. "It's not a person," she shakes her head and I raise an eyebrow. "I'll say it if no one else will! Maybe you're coppers, maybe you're not," she looks between Kas and me. "I don't care who you are... can you please help us?"

Softening at the fear and helplessness in her voice, I go over and put my hands on her shoulders, "we'll do our best," I assure her, giving her a small smile. Something catches my eye, though, and I look up at one of the houses to see the shadow of a girl in one of the top windows. The woman who'd come out of it spins around and notices her as well before rushing back in. My eyebrows furrow as a sudden chill goes down my spine and I see the girl staring straight at me.

***

The Doctor, Rose, and I were searching around the football goal while everyone had gone back to their houses to let us investigate. I wrinkle my nose at the smell again - it was absolutely horrid. "Want a hanky?" Rose teases Kas as he sniffs the air, making me snort.

"Can you smell it?" he asks, ignoring her comment and Rose frowns, sniffing the air. "What does it remind you of?"

"Sort of... metal?" Rose's eyebrows furrow and the Doctor hums with a wide grin. "Oooh!" she beams.

The Doctor waves and I turn to see the man who'd yelled at us watching us through his window. I send him a wink and two-finger salute before we walk off. The three of us walk into a narrow alley behind the houses. "Danny Edwards cycled in one end but never came out the other," the Doctor's eyebrows furrow.

I shiver slightly, feeling tingling all over me as the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Wrinkling my nose, I cover it and try not to gag at the smell - it was stronger this time. "Whoa, there it goes again!" the Doctor beams before showing Rose and I his hand. "Look at the hairs on the back of my manly hairy hand," he smirks, making me giggle.

"You idiot," I roll my eyes with a smile.

"Rude," he pokes my side.

"Not ginger," I gesture to my hair.

The Doctor's eyes light up, "tiny," he smirks.

"Twig," I stick my tongue out.

"Hothead," he snorts.

"Guys!" Rose clicks her fingers at us, trying not to laugh when we jump. "There's that smell... it's like a, um... a burnt fuse plug or something," she wrinkles her nose.

"There's a residual energy in the spots where the kids vanished," I explain, giggling as a shiver runs through me. "... it tickles," I mutter sheepishly to Rose's raised eyebrow.

Kas smiles, shaking his head and wrapping an arm around my shoulders, "whatever it was, it used an awful lot of power to do this."

***

The three of us walk down the street again, looking for any sort of clues. I see a cute little kitty up ahead of us and squeal, "aren't you a beautiful boy?" I rush over to kneel beside him and stroke down his back, making him arch into my touch.

Rose comes over next to me and scratches behind his ears, making him purr in content at the attention.

"Thanks! I'm experimenting with back-combing-" the Doctor's beaming smile turns into a pout when he sees that I was not speaking to him, but to a cat and Rose and I both snort loudly. "Oh..." he mutters, folding his arms.

"We used to have one like you," Rose coos, smiling as she continues to stroke the cat lovingly.

I stand, smiling up at Kas, "jealous of a cat, honey?"

"... no," he replies petulantly, looking away.

Biting my lip, I place a hand on his arm and let my light flow through it, smirking when he shudders. "If it helps... the back-combing is definitely working for you," I pull him down by his tie, pressing a soft kiss to his lips - I really do love when he has ties.

The Doctor groans quietly when I let my light through my lips, gripping my chin to pull me closer as he slips his tongue in my mouth. The cat meowing loudly ruins the moment and I sigh. Pulling away and wrapping my arms around my waist, I look down at the cat to see Rose still petting it. I gave you love and attention, kitty, and you ruin a perfectly good kiss between me and my husband... traitor.

"What?" Rose frowns up at Kas.

I look at him to see that he was looking at the cat with a grimace. Was he mad about it interrupting us as well? I wonder curiously as I get a quick pang of annoyance. "No, I'm not really a cat person," he shakes his head, making me raise an eyebrow. "Once you've been threatened by one in a nun's wimple, it kind of takes the joy out of it," he murmurs.

Kitty wanders off and Rose follows after him, "come here, puss," she coos.

Glancing at Kas, I blush slightly when I see him smirking down at me while biting his bottom lip. "... yes?" I ask.

"Nothing," he shakes his head.

I raise my eyebrows, not believing him in the slightest. Grabbing my chin in his hand, the Doctor leans down and presses his lips to mine. I smile and hum against his lips, wrapping my arms around his neck and standing on my tip-toes. Kas pulls away and cups my face, leaning his forehead against mine, "... I still can't believe it's you, El," he smiles, looking at me like I might not really be here.

I smile softly, "I'm really back, my love, and I'm not going anywhere," I whisper, rubbing my nose against his and giving him a quick peck on the lips.

"Lizzie! Doctor!" Rose calls, making us break apart.

The two of us rush over, me checking Rose over while Kas picks up a cardboard box off the ground. My stomach churns as the smell hits me and I let go of Rose - who was fine - and pinch my nose. "Whoa!" the Doctor laughs, looking the box over. "Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!" he tries to wave the smell away... not with much success.

"Ion residue," I mutter, my voice sounding funny. "Blimey! That takes a massive amount of energy," I breathe out, impressed. "Snatching a living organism out of space/time?"

"This baby is just like 'I'm havin' some of that'," the Doctor says in a funny voice as he flips the box in his hands, making me giggle. "I'm impressed!" he beams.

"So... the cat's been transported?" Rose looks between us.

"It can harness huge reserves of ionic power," the Doctor nods before tossing the box over his shoulder and pointing between Rose and I. "We need to find the source of that power..." he murmurs, looking around the neighborhood. "Find the source and you will find whatever has taken to stealing children and fluffy animals... see what you can see," he slaps my shoulder lightly and I look up at him with raised eyebrows. "Keep 'em peeled, Lewis," he points to my eyes, making me roll them with a smile.

I watch the Doctor walk off for a moment, "later, baby!" I call.

"See ya, sweetheart!" he throws a cheeky grin and wink over his shoulder, making me giggle.

"Come on, Rose," I grab her hand, practically bouncing and I can feel my light tingling under my skin in my excitement. "Let's go look for clues!" I squeal, pulling her behind me as she laughs.

"So," Rose loops her arm through mine as we walk down the street. "I heard the Doctor's side of how the two of you met, I wanna hear yours," she grins, bumping my hip with hers.

"Really? It's the same story," I raise an eyebrow.

"Yeah, but I want to hear it from my big sister, come on!" she smiles widely.

"Alright," I roll my eyes playfully. "Well... I was having my naming ceremony and it was the first night of the harvest festival as well. I was wearing this purple gown to match my eyes and light - mum had the royal tailors make it special for me. I was blonde in my first body," I tug on a piece of Rose's hair teasingly and she snorts, swatting my hand away. "And my hair was in these intricate braids that mum had done up for me... I felt truly beautiful for, I think, the first time and not just... like a novelty or a showpiece for the kingdom," I chew on my bottom lip. "It was also the first time that something was for me that everyone on Iralia got to experience and not just because I was the princess or a Star... granted it was a bit more extravagant and there were loads more people considering the harvest festival, but I felt... truly like one of the people... anyway! Dad announced my new name and I came out of the palace... I found the Doctor in the crowd immediately," I blush slightly when Rose wiggles her eyebrows, making me snort quietly.

"Kas didn't look like anyone else there... mum had told me stories about when she and the Doctor were young and I had heard stories from..." I trail off, my heart aching before shaking my head. "Well, doesn't matter... but he had brown curly hair and this ridiculous rainbow scarf that looked like he would trip over it if he needed to run," I laugh and Rose laughs with me. "Which, as you know, happens quite often with him around," I nudge her shoulder with mine. "I went through everyone congratulating me on my name and... then I got to him," I smile softly. "Kas gave me this cheeky grin and overly dramatic bow... and offered 'the light of the party' a jelly baby," I roll my eyes fondly and Rose giggles. "My brothers instantly disliked him... they were very protective of me. I was really surprised when he stayed for three months... mum and-" I clear my throat, guilt knotting my stomach and I get a wave of concern. "I'd always heard that he never stayed in one place for too long. But... we would spend hours by this river that was behind the palace... it was one of my safe havens from my guard and I wanted to share it with the Doctor. We just... talked, him being a complete idiot and me making a fool of myself because I was... just so taken with him," I look down, my face heating up. "I fell in love so quickly and when he asked me to travel with him... to see what's out there, I said yes, how could I not?"

"Wow... the Doctor completely left out the cheesy line," Rose snickers.

"I'm sure he did," I laugh, jumping slightly when there's a crashing sound.

Rose and I turn to a garage - where the sound was coming from - and I frown when there are several more crashes. The two of us walk to the door cautiously and Rose taps on the door, "is that you, puss-cat? Are you trapped?"

My frown deepens when there's a sound like metal scrapping from inside. I put my ear up to the door, trying to hear it better and jump back when there's another loud crash. Rose shifts on her feet beside me, "not gonna open it, not gonna open it, not gonna open it..." she mutters.

"Yeah, we are," I snort.

"... yeah, we are," she agrees.

Rose opens the door slowly and both us scream as a giant... I don't know. It looks like a tangled mass of wires. The ball of wires starts to attack us, making an odd buzzing noise. Rose falls backward onto the pavement and the wires tangle in my hair. "Stay still!" the Doctor's voice calls and I hear the whir of his sonic.

The giant... thing convulses before falling out of my hair - shrunken - and into Roes's outstretched hands. The Doctor holds out his hand to Rose, "okey-dokey?" he pulls her to her feet.

"Yeah, cheers," Rose smiles, slightly out of breath.

"No probs," Kas grins, hugging her tightly. "Star?" he turns to me.

"Fine..." I trail off, pouting at his amused expression. "My hair looks like a rat's nest, doesn't it?"

"A bit," Rose bites her lip, trying not to laugh as Kas bursts out laughing.

"... I hate you both," I pout more, folding my arms.

"No you don't," they say together, high-fiving after and I roll my eyes.

"Meanies," I stick my tongue out, running my fingers through my hair.

"Now," the Doctor smiles, poking the thing in Rose's hand with his sonic. "I'll give you a fiver if you can tell me what the hell it is, cause I haven't got the foggiest," he mutters.

"Well, I can tell you you've just killed it," Rose looks down at it.

"It was never living," I take it to look at, handing it to the Doctor immediately at the smell coming off it.

"It's animated by energy - same energy that's snatching people," Kas nods. "That is so dinky! The Go-Anywhere creature," he tosses it up and down, absolutely delighted and I smile fondly. "Fits in your pocket, makes friends, impresses the boss, breaks the ice at parties," he grins, making Rose and I giggle.

***

The Doctor, Rose, and I are in the TARDIS to analyze the ball of wires. The monitor beeps, "oh, hi ho, here we go!" the Doctor grins, coming to stand at my shoulder. "Let's have a look!"

"No way," I breathe at the same time Kas murmurs, "get out of here..."

"What's it say?" Rose frowns at the Gallifreyan on the monitor.

I blink, shaking my head slightly in disbelief. Kas reaches into his coat pocket - which is still around me - and takes out a pencil. Holding the ball up, he uses the pencil to erase some of it. "Oh, my God," I breathe.

"It is!" the Doctor laughs, blowing on it and graphite dust comes off it. "It's graphite! Basically the same material as an HB pencil!"

"It is the same material," I roll my eyes.

"We were attacked by a... pencil scribble?" Rose frowns.

"Scribble creature," Kas nods, sniffing it and then holding it out to Rose... who sniffs it as well, and then he waves it my face teasingly.

"Brought into being with ionic energy," I wrinkle my nose, slapping the Doctor's hand away as he snickers - moron. "Whatever we're dealing with... it can create things as well as take them," I lean back against the console, my eyebrows furrowed.

"But... why make a scribble creature?" the Doctor frowns.

"Maybe it was a mistake," Rose offers. "I mean, you scribble over something when you want to get rid of it, like a, um... like a drawing," she shrugs.

My eyes widen, "like a... a child's drawing..." I trail off, Kas glancing at me. "It's in the street, yeah?" I look up at him.

"Probably..." he frowns, not following.

"The girl-"

"Of course!" the Doctor exclaims and I shoot him a look, rubbing my ear. "Sorry..." he murmurs sheepishly, lowering his tone. "What girl?"

"Something about her gave me the creeps when she looked at me... even her own mum seemed to be frightened of her," I fold my arms.

"Love... are you deducting?" Kas puts his hands on the console either side of me, leaning closer with a smirk.

"Yep, I think I am," I smile up at him, biting my lip.

"Copper's hunch?" he raises an eyebrow.

"Permission to follow it up, sarge?" I tease.

The Doctor hums, leaning down to kiss me, "permission granted, Lewis," he murmurs against my lip, groaning softly when I let my light flow through them teasingly.

"Still here!" Rose cuts in, making us jump apart.

Groaning in slight annoyance, the Doctor leans his forehead on my shoulder. "We k-know that..." I mutter, my face burning.

"Come on," Rose rolls her eyes, snickering as she heads out of the TARDIS.

***

Kas, Rose, and I get to the house I saw the girl in and I ring the doorbell. The girl's mum answers the door and the three of us smile widely. "Hello! I'm the Doctor and this is Star and Rose," he introduces and the two of us wave. "Can we see your daughter?"

"No, you can't," she turns us down immediately.

"Ok, bye," the Doctor grins and the three of us turn, starting to walk off.

"Why?" the girl's mum calls after us and we turn in unison, Kas with his hands shoved in his pockets. "Why do you want to see Chloe?"

"Well, there's some interesting stuff going on in this street, and I just thought-" Kas stops when I cough into my hand. "-well, we thought," he corrects, gesturing to Rose and me and we smile. "That she might like to give us a hand," he shrugs.

"Sorry to bother you," Rose apologizes.

"Yeah, sorry," I nod, my hands behind my back. "We'll let you get on with things, on your own..."

"So sorry, bye again," Kas smiles and we turn away once more.

"Wait!" the woman calls and we turn back. "... can you help her?"

I soften at the vulnerability and fear in her voice as she looks between us hopelessly. The Doctor smiles softly, "yes, we can," he promises.

***

The three of us had followed the woman, Trish, into her home. I look around the living room before taking the Doctor's coat off and setting it down. The telly was on and I look at it, seeing the Olympic Torchbearer.

Commentator - The torchbearer is running up towards the mall, which I can tell you is-

"She stays in her room most of the time," Trish tells us, bringing my attention to her and I lean against the wall with Kas beside me. "I try talking to her, but it's like trying to speak to a brick wall... she gives me nothing! Just asks to be left alone," she explains helplessly.

"What about Chloe's dad?" Rose asks from where she's sat on the sofa.

"Chloe's dad died a year ago," Trish shrugs and I frown slightly at her nonchalant tone.

"I'm sorry," Rose sends her a sympathetic smile.

"You wouldn't be if you'd known him," she retorts... ah.

"Well," the Doctor grins, cutting into the awkward atmosphere. "Let's go and say hi!"

Trish hesitates, "I should check on her first... she might be asleep," she mutters, wringing her hands.

"Why are you so frightened of your own daughter, Trish?" I ask softly.

Trish hesitates once more, "I want you to know before you see her that she's really a great kid..."

"I'm sure she is," Kas smiles.

"She's never been in trouble at school... you should see her report from last year: As and Bs," Trish smiles - so proud - making us smile as well.

The way she talks about her daughter was how Kas or I would talk about- I cut my thoughts off, wrapping my arms around my waist as my heart tightens painfully. The Doctor wraps an arm around my shoulders, pulling me close and rubbing my arm soothingly.

"Can I use your loo?" Rose asks all of sudden.

Trish nods and I watch as Rose gets up and leaves the room... what are you doing, Rose? My attention is brought back to Trish when she continues to brag about her daughter, "she's in the choir, she's singing in an old folks home. Any mum would be proud. You know... I want to you know these things before you see her because right now, she's not herself," she explains, her voice thick.

"It's going to be ok," I tell her gently, pausing when I see Chloe walking into the kitchen.

I push myself off the wall and move to poke my head in the doorway, Kas poking his head in as well above me. "Alright, there?" he asks, pulling me into the room and we lean against the table with Trish coming in behind us.

I raise an eyebrow when Chloe takes milk from the fridge and drinks it right from the jug... reminds me of the Doctor, really. "I'm Star and this is my husband, the Doctor," I smile.

"I'm Chloe Webber," she replies, putting the milk back and turning to us.

"How're you doing, Chloe Webber?" the Doctor smiles.

"I'm busy, I'm making something," she snaps and I just raise my eyebrows, folding my arms. "Aren't I, mum?" she asks with a dark undertone, making my eyebrows go higher.

"... and like I said, she's not been sleeping," Trish cuts in quickly, moving to stand beside her daughter.

"You've been drawing, though," I look at all the sketches on the fridge.

I wince slightly when it makes me think of when I... Lizzie... we were young and I'd... she'd... we'd put sketches on the fridge of stuff that wasn't aliens and things. The Doctor's face contorts slightly and he reaches up to rub at his temple discreetly, taking my hand in his other and squeezing it. "I'm rubbish, stickmen are about my limit," he smiles. "Star's the artist," he sends me a wink and my lips twitch up as he tries to lighten my mood - he's such a liar, though, he's amazing at sketching or... anything to do with art, really. "Can do this, though," he holds up the Vulcan salute from Star Trek and I cover my mouth with my free hand to hide a snort. "Can you do that?" he asks Chloe, who just gives us both an expressionless gaze that sends a cold chill up my spine.

"They don't stop moaning," Chloe replies, making me frown.

"Chloe-" Trish stares at her daughter.

"I try to help them, but they don't stop moaning!"

"Who doesn't?" I ask curiously.

"We can be together!"

Trish moves to hug her daughter, "sweetheart-"

"Don't touch me, mum!" Chloe snaps, flinching away from her mother.

That makes Trish stop in her tracks - a hurt expression on her face - and her hands fall to her sides. Trish, Kas, and I share a look, all very concerned for the young girl. Chloe gives us all a dark look, "I'm busy," she warns before leaving.

"Oh, come on, Chloe!" Kas whines as the two of us follow after her. "Don't be a spoilsport!"

"What's the big project? We're dying to know! What're you making up there?"

"Lizzie! Doctor!"

At Rose's scream, the Doctor and I are immediately running up the stairs and into the room her scream had come from. I look around briefly to see that we were in what could only be Chloe's bedroom before hurrying over to Rose and pulling her into my arms.

"I'm coming to hurt you!" a menacing voice comes from the wardrobe.

Kas hurries over to and slams the doors closed before I could get a look at what it was. Rose shudders against me, wrapping her arms around my waist, "look at it!"

"No, ta," the Doctor retorts, moving over to the far wall and slipping his 'brainy' specs.

Smiling to myself, I press a kiss to Rose's temple and squeeze her before letting go and moving to stand beside the Doctor. I look at all the drawings taped on the wall - they were the missing children around the neighborhood and there was even a drawing of the orange cat.

"What the hell was that?" Trish demands.

"A drawing... the face of a man," Rose answers, her voice still a bit shaky.

"What face?"

"Best not!"

I glance back to see Rose standing in front of the wardrobe doors, holding her arms out and pushing herself back against them. Frowning, I wonder what the hell she could've seen to spook her so badly. Trish huffs, turning to Chloe, "what've you been drawing?"

"I drew him yesterday," Chloe shrugs, still with that emotionless gaze.

"Who?"

"Dad..."

"Your dad? But he's long gone," Trish stares at her daughter in horror, folding her arms defensively. "Chloe, with all the lovely things in the world... why him?" her voice cracks.

"I dream about him staring at me."

"I thought we were putting him behind us? What's the matter with you?" Trish continues to stare at her daughter, growing more defensive as she starts to shake just a bit and my heart goes out to her... what has this poor woman been through?

"We need to stay together-"

"Yes, we do," Trish agrees.

"No, not you - us," Chloe corrects, making me frown with an eyebrow raised. "We need to stay together and then it'll be alright."

Trish frowns, looking completely helpless as she moves to cup her daughter's face in her hands. Chloe shudders away from the touch and Trish backs off with tears in her eyes as she stares at Chloe.

"Trish, the drawings... have you seen what Chloe's drawing can do?" Rose asks cautiously.

"Who gave you permission to come into her room? Get out of my house," Trish snaps, turning her fear onto us in anger.

I move to stand in front of Chloe, who was watching us quietly... curiously. "Chloe, tell us about the drawings," I smile, keeping my voice gentle.

"I don't want to hear any more of this," Trish shakes her head.

"But that drawing of her dad... I heard a voice, he spoke-"

"He's dead!" Trish cuts Rose off with a glare, gripping Chloe's shoulders and pulling her away from us protectively. "And these? They're kid's pictures," she gestures to the drawings. "Now get out!"

"Chloe has a power and I don't know how, but she used it to take Danny Edwards, Dale Hicks - she's using it to snatch the kids-"

"Get out!"

"Have you seen those drawings move?" Rose asks, her voice taking on a pleading tone as she tries to reason with the terrified and distraught mother.

"I haven't seen anything!" Trish scoffs, her voice wavering as she tightens her hold on Chloe.

"Yes you have, out of the corner of your eye," the Doctor argues, his voice gentle as he moves forward.

"No!"

"You dismissed it, though," I smile sadly. "Course you did... what choice do you have when you see something you can't possibly explain?"

"You dismiss it, right? And if anyone mentions it, you get angry so it's never spoken of ever ag-"

"She's a child!" Trish cuts Kas off, her shaking growing worse.

"... and you're terrified of her," Kas smiles gently. "But there's no one to turn to, because who's gonna believe the things you see out of the corner of your eye? No one... except us."

"Who are you?" Trish whispers, looking between the Doctor and I with wide eyes.

"We're help, Trish, I promise we'll figure out what's happening with your daughter and do everything we can to fix it," I assure her.

***

The Doctor, Rose, Trish and I had left Chloe to herself in her bedroom and had gone down to the kitchen. Rose was leaning against the table, Trish was standing beside the window with her arms folded, and I was leaning against the counter beside Kas. I frown when I hear something and look to see the Doctor with a jar of marmalade. I raise an eyebrow with my lips twitching up as he unscrews the lid, dips his fingers in, and starts to suck the jam off. Clearing my throat, Kas jumps and looks down at me with his fingers still in my mouth. I raise my eyebrow higher and his expression turns guilty - though he doesn't actually feel guilty, the cheeky bastard. Glancing at Trish, who was just staring at him, his eyes widen innocently as he takes his fingers from his mouth and sets the jar down. I bite my lip, sending Rose a wink and we share an amused smile. Kas was the picture of a naughty boy who was caught stealing sweets while simultaneously looking like a cat that got the cream. The way he managed to look genuinely contrite, yet so smug at the same time was a true talent... also, it was ridiculously attractive and he absolutely knew I thought so. Like I said: cheeky bastard.

"Those pictures, they're alive," Rose cuts in, shaking her head with a smile while I was having trouble not grabbing the Doctor and snogging him breathless. "She's drawing people and they end up in her pictures."

"Ionic energy," the Doctor folds his arm with a smug smirk and I huff quietly, knowing he knew exactly what I wanted to do... did I mention he was bastard? Cause he is. "Chloe's harnessing it to steal those kids and place them in some kind of holding-pen made of ionic power," he explains, biting his lip as he glances down at me and I could just about kill him.

"... and what about the dad from hell in her wardrobe?"

"How many times do I have to hell you? He's dead," Trish snaps.

"Well, he's got a very loud voice for a dead bloke," Rose murmurs, making me smile.

"If living things can become drawings, then maybe drawings can become living things..." Kas muses before shivering, having freaked himself out.

I roll my eyes, patting his arm fondly, "Chloe's real dad is dead, yes, but not the one she sees in her nightmares. That dad seems all too real for her and that's the dad she's chosen to draw... and now he's just a heartbeat away from crashing into this world..."

"She always got the worst of it when he was alive..." Trish murmurs, her voice quiet and tired and guilty and it makes my heart ache.

"Lizzie, Doctor... how can a twelve-year-old girl be doing any of this?" Rose asks, looking between us.

The Doctor pushes himself off the counter, "let's find out," he smiles, pulling me from the room with Rose and Trish following.

***

Kas, Rose, Trish, and I walk into Chloe's bedroom, who's sat at her bed cross-legged. She looks over all four of us before stopping at the Doctor and I, doing the Vulcan salute. I smile and do one back. "Nice one," Kas smiles down at Chloe.

Stepping in front of her, he places his hands either side of her head with his fingers on her temples. Chloe's eyes roll back as the Doctor closes his and she falls back onto her bed unconscious. "There we go," he smiles gently, straightening.

"I can't let him do this!" Trish cries, going to move forward.

Rose places a hand on her arm to stop her, "shh, it's ok, trust him," she soothes the woman.

"She's not in any danger, I promise," I tell her gently.

"Now we can talk," the Doctor nods, moving around to the side of the bed.

"I want Chloe," the entity inside her demands in an eerie, shouted whisper. "Wake her up! I want Chloe!"

"Who are you?"

"I want Chloe Webber!" the entity demands, slamming her fist down on the bed.

"What've you done to my little girl?" Trish looks down at her, tears in her eyes.

"Doctor... what is it?" Rose asks.

"I'm speaking to you," the Doctor looks down at Chloe, his voice becoming sterner. "The entity that is using this Human child, I request parlay in compliance with the Shadow Proclamation," he demands and I wince slightly as they're brought up.

The Shadow Proclamation always... disagreed with how Iralia handled disputes. They were always quick to go straight to a battle solution instead of trying to find a peaceful alternative.

"I don't care about shadows or parlays!" the entity speaking brings me back to the present.

I move to sit beside her on the bed, folding one leg under me, "what do you care about, then?"

"I want my friends!"

"You're lonely, we know," Kas kneels beside the bed, glancing at me and I send him a sad smile. "Identify yourself," he turns back to 'Chloe'.

"I am one of many... I travel with my brothers and sisters," she explains. "We take an endless journey - one thousand of your lifetimes - but now I am alone! I hate it! It's not fair and I hate it!" her eyes snap open and I frown, trying to figure out what this creature could be.

"Name yourself!" the Doctor demands.

"Isolus!"

"Oh, sweetheart," I sigh, my heart aching in pity as I run the backs of my fingers along her cheek.

"You're Isolus, of course," Kas breathes.

"Our journey began in the Deep Realms when we were a family," 'Chloe' starts to draw on a piece of paper - one that was beside her and in front of me - with a red pencil.

"What's that?" Trish frowns at the drawing.

"The Isolus Mother," I explain, watching as the sketch starts to look like a flower.

"Drifting in deep space," the Doctor nods, standing and moving over to Trish and Rose. "See, she jettisons millions of fledgling spores - her children. The Isolus are empathic beings of intense emotions, but when they're cast off from their mother... their empathic link - their need for each other - is what sustains them. They need to be together, they cannot be alone," he explains softly.

"Our journey is long!"

"The Isolus children travel inside a pod each," I tell them, continuing to stroke 'Chloe's' cheek. "They ride the heat and energy of solar tides, and it takes thousands and thousands of years for them to grow up."

"Thousands of years just floating through space... poor things," Rose looks at 'Chloe' with a frown. "Don't they go mad with boredom?"

"We play," the Isolus tells her.

"You... play?"

Kas hums, moving to sit on the other side of 'Chloe', "while they travel, they play games," he explains.

"They use their ionic energy to literally create make-believe worlds in which to play," I smile softly.

"In-flight entertainment," Rose grins.

"Helps keep them happy," the Doctor shrugs. "While they're happy, they can feed off each other's love - without it, they're lost," he explains, glancing at me with a soft smile.

I blush slightly, "why did you come to Earth, sweetheart?" I ask the Isolus.

"We were too close," she rips the piece of paper she was drawing on off the pad and starts a new one.

"That's a solar flare from your sun," I nod to it, watching 'Chloe' draw. "Would've made a tidal wave of solar energy that scattered the Isolus pods... they must have been terrified," I look down at her sadly.

"Only I fell to Earth, my brothers and sisters are left up there and I cannot reach them... so alone!"

"You poor thing," I murmur softly.

"Your pod crashed, where is it?" Kas asks her, stroking her hair.

"My pod was drawn to heat and I was drawn to Chloe Webber... she was like me - alone - she needed me and I her," the Isolus explains.

"You empathized with her," Kas nods. "You wanted to be with her because she was alone like you..."

"I want my family! It's not fair!"

"We understand," I mutter, glancing at the Doctor when I feel grief and guilt and anger. "... you want to make a family, but you cannot stay in this child, it's wrong," I shake my head. "You cannot steal any more friends for yourself... they've got families of their own," I tell her firmly, yet gently.

"I am alone!"

There's a loud thump from the wardrobe, making me jump slightly. "I'm coming to hurt you!" a voice snarls and as the pounding on the wardrobe doors continues, Chloe starts to shake and tremble. "I'm coming!"

"Trish, how do you calm her?" I ask quickly, but she just stares at me with a shouted 'what?'. "When she has nightmares, what do you do?" I elaborate.

"I... I..." Trish looks between Chloe and the wardrobe with wide eyes, shaking herself.

"What do you do?" Kas asks urgently.

"I sing to her!"

"Then start singing," he orders, motioning Trish over.

Trish takes his place beside her daughter and I move over to stand beside Rose as Trish begins to sing.

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree, merry, merry king of the bush is he...

"Chloe...! Chloe...!"

Tears well up in my eyes and I wrap my arms around my waist as Trish continues to sing and stroke her daughter's hair, her voice cracking and shaking.

Laugh, Kookaburra laugh, Kookaburra, gay your life must be...

"I'm s-sorry," I shake my head as the banging and Chloe's dad stop. "I- I... I can't," I whisper, walking out of the room and wiping at my eyes.

Moving over to the wall opposite Chloe's bedroom door, I lean my hands on the wall and try to force myself to quit crying. I feel a hand on my shoulder and turn to clutch onto Kas. "Chloe's asleep," he murmurs, pressing a kiss to the top of my head before stroking my hair.

"That's good," I nod, leaning my ear against his chest to hear his dual hearts. "I'm sorry... I c-couldn't-"

"Shh, I know," he shushes me gently, tightening his arms around me.

"... I miss them so much," I whisper, tears streaming down my face as I think about my children... my babies.

The Doctor pulls away and wipes my tears, smiling down at me softly with tears in his own eyes. I grab onto his tie, pulling him down and standing on my tip-toes to press a kiss to his cheek, "I love you," I whisper against his skin before letting him go.

"I love you," he kisses my forehead, bringing me in for one last tight squeeze.

***

After gathering up all the pencils in the house, Kas, Rose, Trish, and I meet up in the living room. "Chloe usually got the brunt of his temper when he'd had a drink," Trish tells us. "The day he crashed the car, I thought we were free... I thought it was over," she sighs.

"Did you talk to her about it?" Rose asks, handing her a bunch of pencils.

"I didn't want to..."

"Maybe that's why Chloe feels so alone, though," I tell Trish gently. "Cause she has all these terrible dreams about her dad, but she can't talk to you about them - the one person she's supposed to be able to."

"Her and the Isolus... two lonely kids who need each other," the Doctor muses, leaning against the doorway with his arms folded.

"And it won't ever stop, will it, Doctor? I'll just keep pulling kids in," Rose looks at him.

The Doctor hums, tilting his head, "it's desperate to be loved, it's used to a pretty big family," he shrugs.

"How big?"

"Um, about... four billion?" I look to Kas, who nods.

Rose and Trish stare at me in shock as the telly plays in the background.

Commentator - The queues started a week ago for those desperate enough to be inside, although lots of them expected a capacity crowd of eighty thousand for this evening's opening ceremony. I have to say there's been...

Handing the Doctor his coat, he, Rose, and I leave the house and start to walk down the street. "We need that pod," he tells us as he slips his coat on.

"It crashed," Rose points out. "Won't it be destroyed?"

"Well, it's been sucking in all the heat it can," Kas shrugs, wrapping an arm around my shoulders. "Hopefully that should keep it in a fit state to launch."

"But if it hasn't, then I've got a pretty unlimited supply of heat," I smile, making him and Rose laugh. "It must be close, it should have a weak energy signature that the TARDIS can trace," I tell Rose.

"Once we find it, then we can stop the Isolus," the Doctor nods. "Alright, we can scan for the same trace we picked up from the scribble creature, just need to widen the field a bit!"

***

I was sitting on the jump-seat beside Rose, who was chewing gum, while the Doctor built a little device to help us. "You knew the Isolus was lonely before it told you," Rose looks between us. "How?"

"I know what it's like to travel a long way on your own," Kas shrugs, shoving Rose off the jump-seat to sit beside me and she moves with a roll of her eyes.

"The only people I had growing up were my parents and Ori and Tar... and the staff, I suppose," I mutter, helping the Doctor. "I didn't have any real friends. People just wanted to say they knew the 'Glowing Princess'," I roll my eyes. "... then as a Human, it was you, mum, and Mouse."

"Give me the stina-magnetic, um..." Kas nods toward it.

"Thing in your left hand," I snort.

"Sounds like you're both on its side," Rose comments, putting it into the device as the Doctor holds it between his legs.

"We sympathize, that's all," Kas shrugs.

"The Isolus has caused a lot of pain for these people," Rose argues, leaning back against the console.

"It's a child!" I point out, blowing on the device. "That's why it went to Chloe - two lonely children in need of love," I blow on it again and Kas examines it closely.

"Hm, feels like a temper tantrum because it can't get its own way," Rose rolls her eyes.

"The poor thing's terrified," I shake my head.

"Come on, you were a kid once," Kas holds out his finger. "Binary dot," he orders and Rose hands it over so he can place it on the device.

"Yes, and I know what kids can be like, right little..." Rose trails off. "Terrors."

"Gum," I hold my hand out under Rose's chin.

She spits the gum into my hand and I place it. Rose folds her arms, "Lizzie and I've got cousins, kids can't have it all their own way - that's part of being a family."

"What about trying to understand them?" the Doctor retorts.

"Easy for you to say, you don't have kids," she teases and I freeze, looking away.

"... we were parents once," Kas murmurs offhandedly.

"What did you say?" Rose stares at him.

I glance at the Doctor as he remains quiet and sends me a rush of emotions. Glancing at Rose, I see her wide eyes as she stares between us in complete shock. I clear my throat, standing and moving around the console. "I think we're here," the Doctor comes over as well, both of us ignoring Rose. "Fear, loneliness - they're the big ones, girls! Some of the most terrible acts ever committed have been inspired by them! We're not dealing with something that wants to conquer or destroy!"

"There's a lot of things you need to get across this universe; warp drive, wormhole refractors..." I trail off, ignoring the ache in my heart and the continuous rush of grief and guilt I get.

"You know the thing you need most of all? You need a hand to hold," the Doctor grins.

I glance at Rose to see that she has her hand out, pointing to the monitor. Moving over, I smile at the little white dot that was showing the pod in the neighborhood. Kas, though - being the idiot he is - grabs her hand with a wide grin. Rose snorts loudly, holding his hand anyway, "no, look! I'm pointing!" she points to the monitor with her free hand.

The Doctor lets go of Rose's hand and comes to stand at my shoulder, looking at the monitor. Glancing at me, he kisses my cheek, "it's the pod," he smiles. "It is the street! Everything's coming up Doctor!" he beams, squeezing me before we head out of the TARDIS.

I shut the door behind us before hurrying to Rose's side and looping my arm through hers. The Doctor was carrying the device as he walks behind us, "ok, it's about two inches across, dull - like a gulls egg - very light," he describes.

"So, these pods, they travel from sun to sun using heat, yeah?" Rose asks as we walk. "So, it's not all about love and stuff... doesn't the pod just need heat?"

Freezing when there's a crash behind us and I can't feel the Doctor anymore, I turn to see the device shattered on the ground. Also... Kas and the TARDIS were gone and there was a smell of metal in the air. "Doctor? Doctor!" Rose calls.

I growl under my breath, making Rose turn to me. Her eyes widen when she sees my light flowing around me, "Lizzie?" she asks warily.

Not answering, I turn and run to Chloe's house with Rose right behind me.

***

Getting to Trish's house, I bang on the door frantically until she opens it. The second it is, I barge past her and up the stairs. "What- how are you? It's ok! I've taken all the pencils off her!" Trish calls after me.

I burst into Chloe's room to see her at her desk, drawing rapidly. Snatching the paper off her, tears start to prickle my eyes when I see the Doctor and the TARDIS on the sheet of paper. 'Chloe' glares at me, "leave me alone! I want to be with Chloe Webber! I love Chloe Webber!"

"Well, I love him! Bring him back," I glare right back, trying to control my light so I don't burn the paper.

"No!"

I grab 'Chloe's' shoulders, "don't you realize what you've done? We were trying to help you and you've trapped him, now bring him back! Give my husband back to me right now!"

"Leave me alone! I love Chloe Webber!"

Softening, I let go of her shoulders, "I know... I know you do," I whisper, pulling her into a hug and she snuggles into my warmth with a sniffle. "I'm sorry, sweetheart," I press a kiss to the top of her head before pulling back and looking down at the paper. "Kas, if you can hear me... I'm going to get you out," I promise, glancing over when Rose and Trish come in. "Rose and I will find the pod," I sigh, setting the paper on the bed and turning to Trish. "Don't leave her alone, no matter what," I narrow my eyes at her, grabbing Rose's hand on my way out and letting my light fade.

***

Rose and I make it out to the street and start to look around frantically. "... you and the Doctor were parents?" she asks hesitantly.

I freeze at the question, wincing slightly and wishing that Kas was here to share in my pain - so we could share in each other's grief. "Yeah," I nod, my voice quiet. "Um... Kas was a grandparent as well..."

"Only he was a grandparent?" she turns to me with a frown.

"Rose," I sigh, running a hand through my hair. "The Doctor... he was married before we met - before he even left Gallifrey - and he and his wife had children and grandchildren."

"But you and him? You had kids...?"

I smile slightly, wrapping my arms around my waist, "we had twins - Nali and Obi - and they were a year from their naming ceremony when the Time War started," I whisper.

(Scarlett and Hunter Johansson as Naleli and Oberon)

"They're gone... I watched them-" I cut myself off as my voice breaks, wiping at my eyes. "Kas and I didn't even get to give them a proper burial because we could not find-"

"I'm sorry," Rose whispers and I realize that she has her arms around me tightly.

Nuzzling my face against her neck, I wrap my arms around her waist. Rose pulls away and cups my face, smiling softly as she wipes the rest of my tears, "now," she pulls away completely and looks around. "Heat, they travel on heat," she changes the subject, making my lips twitch up. "Can you, I don't know, draw it out or something?"

"Look at this finish!" Kel's voice draws our attention and I see him running his hand over a freshly fixed pothole. "Smooth as a baby's bottom! Not a lump or a bump!"

Beaming at each other, Rose and I hurry over to him. "Kel, was there anything in this street in the last few days giving off a lot of heat?" Rose crouches down beside him.

"I mean, you can eat your dinner off this!" Kel continues, making me roll my eyes. "Beautiful! So you tell me why the other one's got a lump when I gave it the same love and craftsmanship as this one?"

I grab him by the shoulder and pull him up, making his eyes widen, "when you have figured it out, you can put it in a big book about tarmacking," I roll my eyes again. "Before you do that, though, think back six days," I order him urgently, releasing his shoulder.

"Six days..." Kel trails off, his face scrunched up before he brightens. "When I was laying this the first time round!" he points down to the pothole and I raise an eyebrow.

"What?" Rose frowns.

"Well, that's when I filled in this pothole for the first time," he shrugs.

I turn to Rose, "hot fresh tar!" I squeal, jumping up and down.

"Blended to a secret council recipe," Kel beams proudly, making me snort.

I fold my arms, watching as Rose runs over to Kel's van. "Ah... ah!" Kel calls after her. "I don't keep it in the van!" he shouts as she opens the doors wide. "Ay, that's a council van! Out!" he orders as he rushes over.

Watching in amusement, I cover my mouth to hide a laugh when Rose hops from the van and laughs gleefully as she turns the axe that was now in her hands. Kel's eyes widen, "whoa, wait, wait, wait! You just removed a council axe from a council van! Put it back!" he protests as Rose comes over to the pothole. "No don't! Wait, put the axe back in the van! That's my van, give me the axe! No, wait! No!" he shouts as Rose brings the axe down into the tarmac. "No! You... stop! You just took a council axe, from a council van, and now you're digging up a council road! I'm reporting you to the council!"

"Rosie," I cut in, biting my lip to keep from laughing as she pauses mid-swing. "Step back," I smirk, taking my blaster from its holster.

"And now you've got a gun!" Kel screams, pointing at me.

"I'm a cop," I shrug, shooting the tarmac and Rose and Kel jump back quickly as it's shot apart. "That felt good," I smirk, raising my blaster up and flicking the safety back on. "I'm sorry I haven't used you in so long," I coo, petting it before putting it back and patting my holster.

"You're mad, you are!"

"Where's the fun in being sane?" I smirk, sending Rose a wink and making her giggle. "Now," I kneel down and search the broken up tarmac, squealing when I find the pod.

"It went for the hottest thing in the street - your tar!" Rose laughs in delight.

"What is it?" Kel looks over my shoulder as I straighten.

"It's a spaceship," I shrug, showing it to Rose. "Not a council spaceship, I'm afraid," I snort quietly.

***

Rose and I hurry into Trish's house. "We found it!" I call, frowning when I see Trish sitting in the living room.

"We don't know what to do with it, but maybe the Isolus will just hop on board!" Rose grins.

I glare at Trish, "I told you not to leave her!"

Commentator - My God, um, what's going on here?

I turn to the TV that was still on and gasp. On the screen, it showed the Olympic Stadium, but all of the crowd had vanished. Kel steps into the room, pointing between Rose and I, "I don't care if you've got Snow White and the Seven Dwarves buried under there, you don't go shooting-"

"Shut up and look," I cut him off.

Commentator - The crowd has vanished! Um... um... they're gone! Everyone has gone! Thousands of people have just gone! Um... um... right in front of my eyes! Um... it's impossible! Bob, can we join you, um, in the box? Bob? ... not you too, Bob?

"The stadium won't be enough," Rose shakes her head. "The Isolus has four billion brothers and sisters!" she hurries up the stairs with Trish and me right behind her.

"Chloe?" Trish calls when we reach the door.

"Chloe, it's Star and Rose!" I bang on the door. "Open the door," I pull on it, huffing when it's locked.

"We found your ship! We can send you home!" Rose shouts.

I get out my sonic and try the door, frowning when it doesn't work, "worthless," I glare at it before shoving it back in my pocket.

"Chloe!?" Trish shouts.

"Open up!" I bang on the door one last time before stepping back. "Right, Trish, step back. Rose, axe the door," I order.

"Why don't you just shoot it open?"

"There's a little girl in there!" I gape at her. "What if I accidentally hit her!?" I squeak out.

"Right," Rose shakes her head with a wince. "Sorry, wasn't thinking," she murmurs before lifting the axe and she starts hacking away at the door.

Once there was a hole big enough, I move forward and push a chair from the door... ah, that's why the sonic wouldn't work. I open the door and the three of us rush in to see Chloe coloring in an outline of the planet on her wall. "Chloe!"

"I'm coming to hurt you!" Chloe's dad's voice threatens from the wardrobe. "I'm coming!"

"We've got to stop her," Rose steps forward.

I pull her behind me when the wardrobe doors shake violently the second she moves. 'Chloe' glares at us, "if you stop Chloe Webber, I will let him out," she warns. "We will let him out together! I cannot be alone, it's not fair!"

"Look, I've got your pod," I hold it up to show her.

"The pod is dead," she shakes her head.

"But I can heat it up," I retort, letting my light flow around it.

"It needs more than heat."

"What, then?" Rose asks desperately.

Kel appears at the doorway, "I'm not being funny or nothing, but that picture just moved," he points to the bed.

I follow his finger and beam when I see the Doctor's picture. Picking it up, I see a sketch of the Olympic Torch next to him and he was pointing at it. "She didn't draw that, he did," I murmur. "But it needs more than heat, honey," I shake my head before my attention is brought to a laptop on Chloe's desk that was showing the torchbearer running along a street with the torch held high.

Commentator - It's much more than a torch now, it's a beacon! It's a beacon of hope and fortitude and courage, and it's a beacon of love!

"Love!" Rose and I turn to each other with wide grins.

"Oh, I am so daft!" I laugh, holding the paper up. "You, my love, are absolutely brilliant!" I squeal, kissing the drawing of him before jumping up and down.

"I really hope he didn't hear that," Rose groans, grabbing my hand and pulling me from the room, the drawing falling from my hands.

"We know how to charge up the pod!" I call over my shoulder.

***

Rose and I get to the barricade where the torchbearer was passing by. The two of us squeeze through the large crowd to the front, but a policeman stops us, "sorry, you'll have to watch from here," he holds us back.

"No, we've got to get closer-"

"No way!"

"We can stop this from happening!" I glare up at him but I pause when I hear the pod chirping insistently and I hold it up. "You felt that, didn't you?" I coo, running my thumb along it. "Fell the love," I whisper taking a deep breath and throwing it toward the torch.

The pod flies to the torch and falls into the flames, making them flare and the torchbearer staggers a bit. Rose and I throw our arms around each other, jumping up and down. "Yes!" we cheer.

"You did it!" Kel cheers, joining our hug. "What was it you did?" he frowns.

Rose and I giggle and I pull away to look around the street, beaming when I see children returning. "Mummy!" Dale Hicks runs up to his mum and she holds onto him tightly.

"Oh, Jane!" a woman scoops her daughter up.

My smile widens and I sigh out when I feel Kas again. I frown, though, when I don't see him anywhere. "Kas, honey... where are you?" I murmur but jump when I feel a hand on my shoulder.

The old lady was smiling between Rose and me widely, "I don't know who you two are or what you did," she shakes her head. "But thank you, darlings, and thank that man for me too," she kisses us both on the cheek and then walks off.

"Where is he?" Rose frowns, looking around. "He should be here," she mutters anxiously.

"I don't know," I shake my head. "I can feel him again, so he's out of the drawing..."

Rose gasps and I turn to her, "all of the drawings have come to life... that means all of them," she tells me, making my eyes widen.

The two of us look over to Trish's house and in the window to Chloe's bedroom, there was an ominous red glow. The sound of Chloe's dad growling was coming from the window. "Not good, not good, not good!" I rush over, pulling Rose behind me as she gasps 'oh, no'. "Trish, get out!" I bang on the door.

"I can't, the door's stuck!" she shouts.

"Is the Doctor in there?" Rose asks frantically while I try and sonic the door.

"I don't think so!"

"I can't open it," I growl under my breath, smacking my sonic against my palm. "Start working or I will disassemble you!" I scold it, buzzing it at the door and it still won't open... maybe the ionic energy leftover from Chloe's dad is interfering with it? Well, that's something I'll have to fix when I get back to the TARDIS.

"Mummy!" Chloe whimpers.

"Chloe, I'm coming to hurt you!"

"Please, dad, no more!"

"Chloe, listen to me," I call through the door. "He isn't real like the others!"

"It's just energy left over from the Isolus, but you can get rid of it-"

"Help us!" Trish screams, banging on the door.

My eyes widen, "it's because you're so scared that he's real," I realize. "You can shot of him, Chloe!"

"Mummy!"

"You can do it, Chloe!" Rose shouts.

"I can't!"

"Chloe... I'm coming!"

"I can't! I can't!" Chloe whimpers.

"I'm coming!"

"Mummy!"

"Chloe!"

"I'm with you, Chloe!" Trish cries. "You're not alone, you'll never be alone again!"

My eyes widen further and I pound on the door, "sing again! Chloe, Trish, sing!"

"Chloe! Chloe!" her dad roars.

Merry, merry king of the bush is he...

I breathe out when the two of them laugh in relief through their singing. My sonic finally works and I pull the door open, seeing Trish and Chloe hugging each other tightly. "Now you work," I glare at my sonic and shove it in my pocket. "You did it!" I beam down at them.

After everything had calmed down, Rose, Trish, Chloe, Kel, and I were in Trish's living room and watching telly.

Commentator - They've returned! They've appeared! It's quite impossible, Bob, this will certainly...

I sigh, snuggling into Rose's side as I look down at the mark on my hand... where is my daft madman? Kel sits on the other side of me, "maybe he's gone somewhere," he offers.

Commentator - The torchbearer seems to be in a bit of trouble... we did see a flash of lightning earlier which seemed to strike him... um, maybe he's injured? He's definitely in trouble. Does this mean that the Olympic Dream is dead?

The torchbearer collapses on the ground, but I sit forward, smiling when a familiar hand with a brown coat sleeve picks up the torch. "Kas," I shake my head with a wide smile as the Doctor starts to run with the torch alongside the crowds. "Oh, he just had to!"

Commentator - There's a mystery man, he's picked up the flame! We've no idea who he is... um... he's carrying the flame, yes! He's carrying the flame and no one wants to stop him! It's more than a flame now, Bob! It's more than heat and light! It's hope and it's courage and it's love!

Kas runs up the carpeted steps with the torch with the spotlight following. Facing the crowd with a huge grin, he whoops as he lights the Olympic Flame. Rose and I giggle, hugging each other tight and cheering.

Later in the evening, there was a block party with cakes and drinks and music on the street. I had a cake in my hand for Kas and I nudge Rose with a smile when I spot him not too far away from us. The two of us smirk and creep up behind him. Standing on my tip-toes behind him, I whisper, "cake?"

He turns and sees me holding the cake with edible ball bearings, "top banana!" he laughs, taking it and making Rose and I laugh. "Mm," he groans around the cake at the taste. "I can't stress this enough: ball bearing you can eat! Masterpiece!"

Not being able to hold it in any longer, I launch at him and he grunts softly as he catches me. I wrap my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist, burying my face against his neck, "I thought I'd lost you for a minute there," I whisper against his neck, smirking when I feel him shiver a bit... it was still rather cold outside.

"Nah," he pulls away enough to press his lips to mine.

I nip at his bottom lip before pulling away, "you taste like cake," I giggle.

Kas smirks, kissing me again, "not on a night like this," he sets me down, keeping an arm around my waist. "This a night for lost things being found," he grins, hugging Rose tight with his free arm and she wraps her arms around his waist, beaming up at him. "Come on!" he starts to pull us down the street.

"What now?" Rose asks curiously, neither of us letting go of our Doctor.

"I wanna go to the games! What we came for!" Kas beams, squeezing us and feeding me a bite of his cake.

"Go on, give us a clue! Which event do we do well in?"

"Well, I will tell you this: Papua New Guinea surprises everyone in the shot put," the Doctor grins around another bite, making me wrinkle my nose.

The Doctor, of course, notices and leans down to rub his nose against mine. I giggle, my face burning and he grins, pecking my nose this time before straightening. Rose laughs, shaking her head, "really? You're joking aren't you?" she looks up at Kas. "Doctor, are you serious or are you joking?"

"Wait and see!" he shrugs.

Fireworks start to go off, making me jump and I slap the Doctor's chest when he laughs. Kas pulls Rose and me closer as we watch the fireworks. "You know what," Rose grins between us. "They keep on trying to split the three of us up, but they never will!"

The Doctor freezes, "never say never ever," he shakes his head seriously.

"Nah," Rose waves off. "We'll always be ok, you two and me," she smiles confidently, not getting a reply from either of us. "Don't you reckon?" she falters.

"Something in the air," Kas looks up at the sky, sending me a slight pang of fear and worry. "Something coming... a storm's approaching."

I glance up at him and curl into his side as he brings Rose and me even closer, her shivering slightly.
