A/N: was 10206 words, is now 12201! Enjoy!

The Daleks continue to advance on Rose, Mickey, and Rajesh with cries of 'exterminate'. Rose takes a deep breath to calm herself a bit before stepping forward, "Daleks!" she shouts and they fall silent, taken aback that this Human had just addressed them by their name. "You're called 'Daleks', I know your name," she slips off her lab coat as she moves forward and the Daleks don't reply, simply observing her. "Think about it: how can I know that? A Human... who knows about the Daleks, and the Time War. If you wanna know how, then keep us alive. That's all I'm asking. Me and my friends."

"Yeah, Daleks. Time War. Me too," Mickey puts his gun down and steps up beside Rose, gripping her hand in his when Dalek Sec's eye-stalk swivels to look at him.

"Yeah, and me," Rajesh steps forward nervously.

"You will be necessary," Dalek Sec decides. "Report: what is the status of the Genesis Ark?"

"Status: hibernation," a second, Dalek Jast, answers.

"Commence awakening!" Dalek Sec orders.

"The Genesis Ark must be protected above all else!" a third, Dalek Thay, orders.

Dalek Sec turns to the Genesis Ark - which had emerged from the sphere a bit after the Daleks - and clamps its suction arm to the side of the Ark. Mickey watches them warily before leaning into Rose, "the Daleks... you and Bird said they were all dead," he whispers.

"Never mind that," she waves off, staring at the Daleks. "What the hell's a Genesis Ark?"

1st Person POV:

Kas was leaning against a wall, watching the Cybermen. Mum and I were standing beside him, me with my arm around mum to calm us both. "What's down there? She was in that room with the sphere," she looks up at the Doctor. "What's happened to Rose?"

"I don't know," he snaps, anger and fear and worry washing over me constantly.

Mum starts to cry, wrapping her arms around me and burying her face against my shoulder. Kas winces, guilt hitting me as he turns fully toward us. "I'll find her. I brought you here, I'll get you out. You and your daughters," his features soften, sadness hitting me when mum sniffles. "Jackie, look at me," he murmurs gently, getting no response other than mum tightening her hold on me. "Look at me," his voice becomes firm but still with a softness to it and mum looks up at him with red eyes, tears running down her cheeks silently. "You and Rose... you're family and I will get you out of this," he smiles softly, putting his hand on mum's shoulder and squeezing. "I promise you, I give you my word."

Giving a small nod, mum squeezes me and then launches herself at the Doctor, making him yelp in surprise and raise his hands to the sides. "If it had to be anyone to have my Lizzie... I'm glad it's you," she mutters, squeezing the life out of Kas.

I bite my lip, wiping at my eyes while Kas just stands there with wide eyes and his jaw to the floor. Slowly, he wraps mum up in a tight hug before pulling away and rubbing the back of his neck, "well, then," he lets out an awkward chuckle, making me snort loudly.

A Cyberman speaking draws our attention and I turn to see it stood in front of Yvonne's desk where she's sat. "You will talk to your central world authority and order global surrender," it orders.

"Oh, do some research! We haven't got a central world authority," she scoffs.

"You have now, I will speak on all global wavelengths."

Kas slips on his 3D specs, watching the Cybermen before handing them to me. Putting them on, I tilt my head as I look at all the void particles surrounding them.

Cyber Leader - This broadcast is for humankind. Cybermen now occupy every landmass on this planet, but you need not fear. Cybermen will remove fear. Cybermen will remove sex and class and color and creed. You will become identical. You will become like us.

The Doctor pulls me into Yvonne's office with mum right behind us. My heart tightens and my light flows around my hands when I see people fighting back, running around and trying to escape the Cybermen. The Cyber Leader comes over as well, "I ordered surrender," it looks down at the chaos, nearly sounding confused.

I close my eyes as a strong wave of anger washes over me and breathe out, trying to calm my light. The Doctor turns to the Cyber Leader with a scoff, "they're not taking instructions! Don't you understand? You're on every street, you're in their homes, you've got their children! Of course, they're gonna fight!"

3rd Person POV:

Dalek Sec looks between the three Humans, "which of you is least important?"

"What's that supposed to mean?" Rose frowns.

"Which of you is least important?"

"No, we don't work like that," Rose glares. "None of us."

"Designate the least important!"

Rajesh steps forward, "this is my responsibility."

"No, don't!" Rose grabs his arm.

Rajesh takes his arm from her, standing before Dalek Sec and pulling on his lab coat, "I, um... I represent the Torchwood Insitute. Anything you need, you... come through me. Leave these two alone."

"You will kneel!"

"What for?"

"Kneel!" Dalek Sec screams and Rajesh kneels quickly, looking a the other three Daleks fearfully as they surround him. "The Daleks need information about current Earth history!"

"Yeah, well, I can give you a certain amount of intelligence, but nothing that will compromise homeland security..."

"Speech is not necessary! We will extract brainwaves!"

The Daleks advance on Rajesh with their telescopic manipulators - the plungers - pressing against his head. "Don't... I- I'll tell you everything you need," Rajesh promises shakily. "No! No!" he screams in agony before the manipulators engulf his entire head.

Mickey jolts forward but Rose holds him back, knowing it was too late and not wanting him to get hurt by the Daleks for interfering. Wrapping an arm around her, Mickey presses her face into the crook of his neck so she wouldn't have to see and she clutches onto his shirt as tears from anger and fear run down her face. The Daleks release Rajesh, who's now just a blackened corpse that falls to the ground. "His mind spoke of a second species invading Earth infected by the superstition of ghosts," Dalek Sec tells the others.

Rose glares at them, her stomach churning at Rajesh's body, "you didn't need to kill him!"

Dalek Caan looks at her, "neither did we need him alive," he retorts.

"Dalek Thay, investigate outside!" Dalek Sec orders.

"I obey!" Dalek Thay glides from the room.

1st Person POV:

One of the other Cybermen come up to the leader, "scans detect unknown technology active within sphere chamber."

"Cybermen will investigate," another comes up.

"Units ten-sixty-five and ten-sixty-six will investigate sphere chamber," the Cyber Leader orders.

"We obey!" they stomp from the room.

"Units open visual link," the Cyber Leader orders and a video link pops up on Yvonne's laptop so we can see what the Cybermen see. "Visual contact established."

Something comes around the corner and I freeze, my breathing going ragged as I clench my fists tightly. Horror washes over me and the Doctor pulls me to him, wrapping his arms around me tightly and leaning his chin on top of my head. "No... please no," I whisper, my voice cracking as I wince at a sharp pain shooting through my temple, hearing Kas hiss quietly and tighten his hold on me.

"Identify yourself!" the Dalek orders.

I flinch when it speaks and turn in Kas' arm, leaning my ear against his chest and listening to his hearts that were beating quickly.

"You will identify first!" the Cyberman retorts.

"State your identity!"

"You will identify first!"

"Identify!" the Dalek screams, making flinch harder this time and I grip onto the Doctor's lapels tightly.

"Illogical, you will modify!"

"Daleks do not take orders!"

"You have identified as 'Daleks'!"

"Outline resembles the inferior species known as 'Cybermen'!"

"You and Rose said about the Daleks... you're terrified of them," mum whispers, making me flinch once more as memories flash in my mind and Kas rubs my back soothingly as grief and guilt wash over me. "What have they done to Rose, Doctor? Is she dead?"

"Phone," the Doctor grinds out, letting go of me with one arm and his other tightens around me.

"What did you-?"

Huffing, Kas reaches into my back pocket and gets my phone and quickly dials Rose as worry and fear continuously wash over me. "She's answered, she's alive," he whispers after a moment, making me sigh in relief and mum claps her hands over her mouth. "Why haven't they killed her?" he frowns and I jab his chest, making him groan and I wince slightly.

"Well, don't complain!" mum glares at him.

"They must need her for something," Kas mutters, squirming slightly since he can't rub where I'd jabbed him since I was snuggled against him so tight. "El... listen," he leans down a bit and I stand on my tip-toes so the phone was between us.

"We must protect the Genesis Ark," I hear a Dalek.

"The Genesis Ark?" Kas frowns, slipping on his 3D specs and looking at the laptop.

"Our species are similar, though your design is inelegant," the Cyberman insults the Dalek and I would've laughed if I wasn't so terrified.

"Daleks have no concept of elegance!"

"That is obvious! But consider: our technologies are compatible! Cybermen plus Dalek - together, we could upgrade the universe!"

"You propose an alliance?"

"That is correct!"

I hold my breath as the Doctor hands me the specs, a wave of fear hitting me. Turning my head back to the laptop, I see void particles on the Dalek as well. The Daleks and the Cybermen working together? I shiver at the mere thought of it. After a moment, the Dalek answers, "request denied!" it screams, making me breathe out in relief.

"Hostile elements will be deleted!"

The Cybermen shoot at the Dalek, but the rays just bounce right off of it. "Exterminate!" the Dalek screams, making me whimper before the link is severed.

"Open visual link!" the Cyber Leader orders and another video link pops up, showing an all-black Dalek in the sphere chamber. "Daleks, be warned! You have declared war upon the Cybermen!"

"This is not war, this is pest control!"

"We have five million Cybermen, how many are you?"

"Four," the Dalek anwers.

I clutch onto Kas tighter and he presses a kiss to the top of my head. Four was far, far too many...

"You would destroy the Cybermen with four Daleks!?"

"We would destroy the Cybermen with one Dalek! You are superior in only one respect!"

"What is that?"

"You are better at dying! Raise communication barrier!"

"Lost her," Kas sighs, putting my phone back in my pocket and wrapping me up in both arms.

3rd Person POV:

"Rewind the image by nine rells!" Dalek Jast orders.

The video rewinds and the Doctor and Star could be seen in the background. Star was wrapped up in his arms and he was leaned forward with her mobile between them. "Identify grid seven gamma frame!" Dalek Jast orders and the image zooms in on the two. "This male and female register as enemies!"

Rose's grip on Mickey tightens and her heart starts to beat quicker at the absolute terror on her sister's face.

Dalek Sec turns to her, "the female's heartbeat has increased!"

"Better not let Bird know," Mickey teases Rose, making her roll her eyes even as her lips twitch up.

"Identify them!"

"Alright, then... if you really want to know," Rose steps forward, letting go of Mickey. "That's the Doctor," she smiles, making the Daleks roll back sharply. "And that, is my big sister, Star," her smile widens when the Daleks move back further, their eye-stalks seeming to widen but Mickey just frowns in confusion. Why was she calling his Bird 'Star'? Rose snorts loudly, "five million Cybermen? Easy! One Doctor and his Star? Now, you're scared!" she taunts.

Dalek Thay enters the sphere chamber then, "Cyber threat irrelevant! Concentrate on the Genesis Ark!" it orders and Dalek Sec presses it's telescopic manipulator to the Genesis Ark.

"Why are we being kept alive?" Mickey whispers to Rose.

"They might need me," she shrugs.

"Why? What is it?" he frowns, getting no answer. "And when the hell did Bird change her name?"

"Oh... um, that's a long story," she turns a bit sheepish, rubbing at the side of her nose. "You'll... have to ask her that," she bites her lip.

1st Person POV:

"Quarantine the sphere chamber," the Cyber Leader orders before turning to us. "Start emergency upgrading, start with these personnel."

"No, you can't do this!" Yvonne screams as she's dragged away. "We surrendered! We surrendered!"

The Cyber Leader steps in front of Kas and I, "their increased adrenaline suggest they have vital Dalek information."

"Mum!" I jolt forward when a Cyberman grabs her by the arm. "You let her go! Let her go or we won't help you!"

The Doctor wraps his arms around me to keep me from going after them, my light flowing around my whole body at this point. My heart aches when mum reaches out for me, "Lizzie! Doctor, you promised me! You gave me your word! Lizzie!"

"Mum!" I fight against Kas' hold, but he only tightens it. "Mum, it is going to be alright!"

"Jackie, don't fight! I'll think of something!" the Doctor calls after her as she's pulled around the corner.

I turn in the Doctor's arms, crying into his chest as I grip his blazer tightly. Mum just got taken by a Cyberman to be upgraded and Rose was trapped down in the sphere chamber with Daleks. Kas buries a hand in my hair, his other tracing nonsense shapes on my back as he shushes me gently.

***

Kas had moved to sit in one of the window sills in Yvonne's office. I was standing in front of him in between his legs, his arms wrapped around me. My eyes were closed and I was leaning back against him, my arms wrapped around my waist. "We'll get out of this, El, I promise," Kas whispers in my ear before pressing his lips to my neck. "I won't let them take you from me again," he murmurs against my skin.

"The two of you are proof," the Cyber Leader says and I open my eyes to see it standing in front of us.

The Doctor's arms tighten around me protectively as he looks up at it, "of what?"

"That emotions destroy you."

"Yeah, we are," he replies dryly. "Mind you... I quite like hope," he muses and I frown when I see a slight shimmer in the rift chamber. "Hope's a good emotion... and here it comes."

A group of people dressed in all black, wearing helmets and carrying huge guns appear out of thin air. One of them shouts to the others and they shoot at the row of Cybermen, destroying them. Kas pushes me behind the desk quickly but I sit up on my knees, taking my blaster out and shooting the Cyber Leader. Its head is blown off, but I stand and shoot the rest of its body repeatedly, tears streaming down my face as my light overtakes my body. I only stop when I feel one hand on my waist and another go over my hands. I let the Doctor take my blaster and put it back in my holster while I wipe at my face furiously.

A familiar voice catches my attention, "Doctor, good to see you again! And a hell of a woman you've got," one of the group takes their helmet off and my eyes widen.

"Jake!?" Kas and I stare at him.

"Lizzie?" he stares right back at me.

"Oh, um, yeah," I shift awkwardly, letting my light fade. "Long story short... I'm an alien," I rub my arm.

"Looks good on you," he looks me over appreciatively, making me smile as I blush.

I hold up a hand and pat the Doctor's chest when I get a wave of anger and annoyance, a low and quiet growl slipping from him. Kas puts his hand over mine, narrowing his eyes at Jake, who snorts loudly and holds his hands up in surrender. I try not to laugh, "still as charming as the last time, Jake," I smirk and the Doctor huffs under his breath when Jake sends me a cheeky wink. "But, um... how are you here?"

"Well, the Cybermen came through from one world to another, and so did we," he smirks before turning to his people. "Defend this room. Chrissie, monitor communications," he orders.

I take the 3D specs from Kas' pocket since he was too busy being all possessive and brooding, slipping them on and looking at the parallel group. They had void particles floating around them. I hand them to Kas and he slips them on, looking at them thoughtfully.

"Kill one Cyber Leader and they just download into another! Move!"

"You can't just... just... just hop from one world to another," I shake my head, frowning at Jake as his people move out. "It is dangerous!"

"We just did, with these," he chucks something at the Doctor.

Looking it over, I see that it looks like a large yellow button on a chain. A dimension hopper? Kas stares at them, "but that's impossible! You can't have this sort of technology!"

"We've got out own version of Torchwood - they developed it," Jake shrugs. "Do you wanna come and see?" he smirks, pressing down on his.

"No!"

I whimper at the hollow feeling when Jake and the Doctor disappear. I wrap my arms around myself and I glare at the spot Kas had been. They could have taken me with them! Growling under my breath, I head to the sphere chamber. If they are going to leave me behind then I may as well go see if I can get Rose away from the Daleks. And if not, I can figure out what the hell they want.

3rd Person POV:

The Doctor and Jake reappear in the same room, except it's considerably darker. There were wires and equipment strewn all over the floor. "Parallel Earth, Parallel Torchwood," Jake smirks as the Doctor looks around in shock, rubbing at his chest. "Except we found out what the institute was doing and the people's republic took control," he explains.

"I've got to get back! Star and Rose are in danger-"

"Star?" Jake frowns, eyebrows furrowed.

"Lizzie," the Doctor waves off impatiently. "And their mother-"

"That'd be Jackie," a voice interrupts and the Doctor spins around to see Pete Tyler flanked by two soldiers. "My wife in a parallel universe and as for you, Doctor, at least this time I know who you are."

"Right, yes, fine, hooray," the Doctor rolls his eyes, rushing over to Pete. "But I've got to get back, right now!"

"No, you're not in charge here," Pete shakes his head, completely calm and it makes the Doctor nearly shout in frustration. "This is our world, not yours, and you're gonna listen for once," he gives the Doctor a hard look, which he returns darkly with his fists clenched, but he falls silent.

1st Person POV:

When I get down to the entrance of the sphere chamber, I had calmed down enough that I could control my light again and it was faded now. I press myself to the wall by the door, listening in. "The technology is stolen! The Ark is not of Dalek design!" one shouts and a cold chill runs through me at the sound of its voice.

"Then who built it?" Rose asks.

"The Time Lords! This is all that survives of their homeworld!" the Dalek replies, making me frown.

"What's inside?"

"Yeah, Daleks," I walk through the doors, pausing in my step for a moment when I see... Mouse? Shaking myself, I return my attention to the four Daleks. "I'd fancy knowing that," I smile widely, moving further into the room and looking at the Dalek-like thing they were surrounding. "What's inside this big mysterious Ark?"

"Alert! Alert! You are Star, Princess of Iralia! The Supernova!" the all-black Dalek screams.

"Am I really?" my eyes widen as I look down at myself. "Well, I wish someone would have told me that I'm a princess! You should see me in a tiara, it's fab," I send Rose a wink, making her smile.

"Alert! Sensors report that you are armed! You will be exterminated!"

"Now wait... just... just hold on a tick!" I raise a finger, pointing to the Dalek. "You know who I've got with me, don't you? Who's in this very building?" I raise an eyebrow, making them pause. "Oh, yeah!" I smirk, stepping forward and they glide back sharply. "What do you think he would do if he came down here and found me dead?" I ask, my hands behind my back as I rock on my heels and they glide back more. "So, how about we hold off on the... exterminating, yeah? So! Daleks," I snarl their name. "I am going to ask again: what is inside that?" I nod to the Ark.

"The future!"

"Oh, I hate it when they're bloody vague," I huff, folding my arms and I hear Rose snort quietly.

"How did you survive the Time War?"

"Like I would tell you," I glare at them with my light flowing around me before turning to Rose and Mouse. "How are you? Alright?" I ask Rose worriedly, looking her over.

"Yeah," she mutters shakily, pulling me into a tight hug. "What about you? Where's the Doctor?" she whispers.

"You've got Jake to thank for that," I huff, pulling away and folding my arms again. "He popped in and then popped out with Kas, leaving me! As if it weren't bad enough that there are Cybermen and Daleks... I can't feel him," I grind out, my light getting brighter with being near the Daleks and just... emotional strain.

"Hey, calm down," Rose goes to touch me, only to pull back with a hiss, cradling her hand.

"S-sorry," I squeak out, calming my light and taking her hand to look at it. "Dammit... sorry, I- I let my temper get the better of me, I-" I cut myself off, tears welling up. "I'm so sorry... it's- it's harder to control when my emotions are running high," I use my light to heal the burns.

"Thanks," she breathes, watching my light as it flows around my hand and to hers.

"Bird?" Mouse chokes out.

"Yeah?" I turn to him once I've healed Rose completely, frowning when I see him staring at me with wide eyes. "Oh!" I mutter, hitting my forehead. "Stupid me! Yeah... it's, um, it's me..." I scratch the back of my head. "I'm... ah... sort of an alien," I laugh awkwardly.

"I... can see that," he looks me over slowly.

"Is that... is it alright?" I ask nervously, rubbing my arm.

"Yep, totally fine," he nods quickly.

I throw my arms around him and he gasps at my warmth before hugging back. Squeezing him tightly, I nuzzle his chest, "I've missed you so much, Mouse," I mutter, a tear sliding down my cheek.

"Missed you too," he pulls back, cupping my face in his hand and kissing my forehead. "You're really hot," he jokes.

"Oi!" I push him back as he laughs, my face burning. "Meanie," I pout, folding my arms and sticking my tongue out at Rose when she laughs as well.

"Still my Bird, then," he smiles and I chew on my bottom lip, blushing more.

"Social interactions will cease!" one of the bronze Daleks scream.

Growling under my breath, I turn to them, "can it or I will melt your eye-stalk off!" I shout, making it fall silent and back off quickly.

"Could you really do that?" Mouse whispers, watching the Daleks warily.

"Yeah," I nod, lowering my voice so the Daleks couldn't hear me. "It would take a massive amount of energy, though," I shake my head. "Inorganic material is harder to burn or melt and I would probably pass out afterward... I could use my blaster," I pat my holster. "But it would take too long for each Dalek... not that they need to know any of that," I mutter, rubbing my temples.

"You sound different," Mouse eyes me. "... and you seem more confident... it looks good on you," he smiles.

I smile, pulling him and Rose into a tight three-way hug, "God, we needed you," I sigh, making him chuckle and hold us closer.

3rd Person POV:

The Doctor has his ear pressed up against the wall with the rift in the parallel Torchwood, squinting as if he were trying to hear something. Pete comes up behind him, his hands behind his back, "when you left this world, you warned us there'd be more Cybermen, so we sealed the factories."

"Except people argued... said they were living, we should help them," Jake explains with a slight scoff.

"... and the debate went on," Pete sighs. "But all that time, the Cybermen made plans. Infiltrated this version of Torchwood, mapped themselves onto your world, and then vanished," he explains.

"When was this?" the Doctor asks curiously, stepping away from the wall and walking to a window in what's Yvonne's office in his world.

"Three years ago," Pete replies.

"It's taken them three years to cross the void, but we can pop to and fro in a second," the Doctor shakes his head, every cell in his body telling him it was wrong. And it was, he needed to get back and fix this. "Must be the sheer mass of five million Cybermen crossing all at once," he muses.

"Yeah, Mickey said you'd rattle off that sort of stuff," Pete looks at him blankly.

"Oh, where is Mickey-boy?" the Doctor smiles, looking around for the man himself. "Star would love to see him!"

"He went ahead first," Pete shrugs. "Any chance to go and find Miss Rose Tyler and his Bird," he sighs, having heard more than enough stories of the two over the years from Mickey. They seem like kind and loving girls from the stories and what he remembers of the two. Mickey obviously loved them both with everything.

"They're your daughters," the Doctor retorts, choosing to ignore the possessive title put on his wife. Not that he was still jealous of their close relationship... nope, hasn't ever been and isn't now. "You do know that? Did Mickey explain?"

"They're not mine, they're the children of a dead man," Pete shakes his head, voice carefully detached. "Look at it, a world of peace," he nods to the window. "They're calling this 'the Golden Age'," he scoffs.

"Who's the President now?" the Doctor asks curiously.

"A woman called Harriet Jones."

The Doctor grimaces, "I'd keep an eye on her," he warns.

"But it's a lie," Pete shakes his head. "Temperatures have risen by two degrees in the past six months. The ice caps are melting. They're saying all this is gonna be flooded... that's not just global warming, is it?"

"No," the Doctor shakes his head.

"It's the breach," Pete concludes.

"I've been trying to tell you: travel between parallel worlds is impossible," the Doctor groans in exasperation. "Then the Daleks break down the walls with the sphere-"

"Daleks?"

"Then the Cybermen traveled across, then you lot!" the Doctor continues as if Pete hadn't spoken. "Those disks! Every time you jump from one reality to another, you rip a hole in the universe! This planet is starting to boil! Keep going and both worlds will fall into the void!"

"But you can stop it? The famous Doctor," Pete eyes him. "You can seal the breach?"

"Leaving five million Cybermen stranded on my Earth," the Doctor scoffs, folding his arms and glaring down at Pete.

"That's your problem," he shrugs, still keeping his voice detached. "I'm protecting this world, and this world only."

"Hm... Pete Tyler... I knew you when you were dead," the Doctor chuckles darkly, looking Pete over in a mocking manner. "Now, here you are, fighting the fight... alone..." he steps closer to him, his features softening. "There is a chance back on my world... Jackie Tyler might still be alive," he says.

"My wife died," Pete denies flatly, trying not to flinch at the mention of her.

The Doctor hums, "her husband died, good match," he muses.

"There's more important things at stake," Pete shakes his head, voice wavering just slightly. "Doctor... help us."

"What?" the Doctor raises his eyebrow, backing away slightly. "Close the breach? Stop the Cybermen? Defeat the Daleks? Do you believe I can do that?"

"Yes," Pete replies, not even missing a beat.

"Maybe that's all I need," the Doctor grins. "Off we go, then!"

The Doctor, Jake, and Pete appear back in the other Torchwood. The Doctor groans in exasperation and worry when he sees Star had left. He also winces feeling her white-hot rage and fear. "Of course, she went down to where the Daleks are... bloody stubborn, temperamental... ugh," the Doctor mutters to himself, running his hand down his face. "Right, first of all: I need to make a phone call," he tells Jake and Pete. "You don't mind?"

"You two, guard the door," Jake orders two of his men.

Pete watches the Doctor as he hurriedly dials Jackie's number on the phone in Yvonne's office.

"Help me! Oh, my God, help me," Jackie screams as soon as she answers.

"Jackie, you're alive!" the Doctor beams, relieved. "Listen-"

"They tried to download me but I ran away!"

"Listen, tell me! Where are you?"

"I don't know! Staircase!"

"Yeah, which one? Is there any... any sort of sign? Anything to identify it?"

"Yes! A fire extinguisher!"

"Yeah, that helps-" the Doctor starts sarcastically.

"Oh, wait a minute, it says 'N3'!"

"North corner, staircase 3," the Doctor nods. "Just keep low, we're trying our best," he promises.

"No, don't leave me!" Jackie begs.

The Doctor's hearts ache at the terror in her voice, "I've got to go, I'm sorry," he murmurs, hanging up and turning to Pete. "Jaqueline Andrea Suzette Tyler," he smiles fondly.

"She's not my wife," Pete denies firmly, looking rather pale.

"I was at the wedding, you got her name wrong," the Doctor accuses lightly, smirking when Pete falters. "Now then, Jakey-boy," he turns to him, taking his gun. "If I can open up the bonding chamber on this thing, it could work on polycarbite."

"What's polycarbite?" Jake frowns.

"Skin of a Dalek," the Doctor shrugs.

***

Downstairs, a white sheet of paper attached to a stick pops around the corner and is waved around. The Doctor follows after a second, smiling at the two Cybermen in the corridor, "sorry!" he apologizes and they spin around to face him. "No white flag, I only had a sheet of A4... same difference," he shrugs.

"Do you surrender?" one of the Cybermen asks as they both aim their guns at the Doctor.

"I surrender unto you," he strides up to be face to face with the Cybermen. "A very good idea!" he grins.

1st Person POV:

I was standing so that I was in front of Rose and Mouse at all times, watching the Daleks every move as I let my hand hover over my holster. When I feel Kas, my lips pull into a smile before faltering when I register his anger and worry and fear... brilliant.

"Final stage of awakening!"

The all-black Dalek turns to face me, "your hand-print will open the Ark," it orders.

"I thought Daleks were geniuses," I roll my eyes, folding my arms and cocking my hip. "You're daft if you think I'm gonna go anywhere near that thing," I scoff.

"Obey or the male and female will die!"

I freeze, clenching my fists as my heart starts to beat quicker. Looking back at Rose and Mouse, my heart aches at the fear in their eyes. "I can't let them hurt you," I shake my head, moving forward.

"Bird, don't," Mouse grabs my arm.

"Place your hand upon the casket!"

"Alright!" I glare at the Dalek, my light flowing around my hands once more. "You're gonna kill us anyway, so what the hell?" I pull away from Mouse, getting right in the all-black Dalek's face and smirking when it backs away. I move forward again, "if you escaped the Time War, don't you want to know what happened?"

"Place your hand-"

"What happened to the Emperor?" I raise an eyebrow, my smirk widening when it pauses.

"The Emperor... survived?"

"Till he met my baby sister," I snort. "Because if these are going to be my last words, then you are going to bloody well listen, Dalek! We met the Emperor and Rose took the Time Vortex and she poured it into his head and turned him and his entire fleet into dust! Do you get that? The God of all Daleks... and a Human destroyed him!" I laugh in its eye-stalk.

"You will be exterminated!"

"Oh now, hold on, wait a minute!" a voice calls that makes my heart skip a beat.

I turn around to see the Doctor in the doorway, his 3D specs on and his hands shoved in his pocket. "You really want to rethink harming my wife," he warns darkly.

I beam at him, but he shoots me a look that makes me shrink back in guilt. Shit... he's really pissed.

"Alert, alert, you are the Doctor!" the all-black Dalek screams.

"Sensors report he is unarmed!"

"That's me, always," the Doctor smiles lightly, walking into the sphere chamber.

"Then you are powerless!" the Dalek concludes, making me snort loudly.

"Not me, never," the Doctor smirks, taking the specs off and slipping them into his pocket when he reaches us. "How are you?" he asks Rose.

"Oh, same old, you know," she grins up at him.

"Good!" he beams, pulling her into a tight hug and I bite my lip when he pulls away and ignores me, turning to Mouse. "And Mickity McMickey! Nice to see ya!" he bumps his fist.

"And you, boss," Mouse grins.

"Now you," Kas turns to me, giving me a scolding look. "What were you thinking?" he raises an eyebrow.

I huff, not exactly liking how he's speaking to me as if I were a child. "Well, it's not my fault that you up and left," I glare up at him. "... and Rose was down here," I gesture to her before folding my arms and looking away... ok, maybe I am acting a bit childish, so what?

The Doctor grabs my chin, forcing me to look up at him and lowering his voice, "I've already lost you twice to the Daleks, I'm not about to lose you a third time," he glares right back with anger and worry and grief washing over me.

"S-sorry..." I murmur quietly, rubbing my arm and chewing on my bottom lip in guilt. Damn him...

"What?" he cups his ear with his free hand, raising an eyebrow.

I pull away from his grasp and take a deep breath, really trying not to hit him. With my face heating up, I sigh, "I'm sorry..." I tell him more clearly.

The Doctor smiles, cupping my face in his hands, "good girl," he leans down to kiss me.

I hum happily, standing on my tip-toes and wrapping my arms around his shoulders, "I hate you," I murmur against his lips.

"No you don't," he smiles as he pulls away and taps my nose, making me wrinkle it.

"Social interaction will cease!"

I growl under my breath, turning to face the Dalek. Kas wraps an arm around my shoulders, rubbing my arm with a fond smile.

"How did you survive the Time War?" the all-black Dalek asks the Doctor.

Kas' features darken and I wince slightly at the rush of emotions I get from him. Squeezing me, he glares at the Daleks, "by fighting on the front line... we were there at the fall of Arcadia, someday I might even come to terms with that," he sighs and I wrap an arm around his waist, moving closer to him. "But you lot," he scoffs, shaking his head. "You ran away!"

"We had to survive!"

"The last four Daleks in existence," Kas taunts, eyeing them in disgust. "So what's so special about you?"

"Doctor, Lizzie... they've got names," Rose cuts in, making me frown. Really? "And Daleks don't have names, do they? One of them said they-"

"I am Dalek Thay!"

"Dalek Sec!"

"Dalek Jast!"

"Dalek Caan!"

The names click in my head, "the Cult of Skaro!" I point at them with a wide grin. "I thought you were just a legend!"

"Who are they?" Rose frowns.

"A secret order, above and beyond the Emperor himself. They were created to imagine," I explain.

"Think as the enemy thinks, even dared to have names," Kas adds. "All to find new ways of killing," he scowls.

"But that thing, they said it was yours," Mouse gestures to the Ark. "I mean, Time Lords," he elaborates. "They built it, what does it do?"

Kas glances at it, "I don't know, never seen it before," he shrugs.

"But it's... Time Lord," Rose frowns.

"Both sides had secrets," the Doctor retorts. "What is it? What have you done?" he asks the Daleks.

"They said it was the future," I roll my eyes.

"Time Lord science will restore Dalek supremacy!"

"What does that mean? What sort of Time Lord science? What do you mean?" Kas asks, getting no answer.

"They said one touch from a time traveler will wake it up," Rose puts in.

"Technology using the one thing a Dalek can't do: touch," Kas chuckles, pulling me over to a Dalek. "Sealed inside your casing, not feeling anything... ever, from birth to death, locked inside a cold metal cage... completely alone," he smirks, leaning down a bit to stare in Dalek Sec's eye-stalk. "And that explains your voice! No wonder you scream," he taunts, his tone dark.

"The Doctor will open the Ark!"

The Doctor snorts loudly, "the Doctor will not," he mocks, pulling me back.

"You have no way of resisting!"

"Well... you got me there," the Doctor concedes with a fake sigh.

"I could always melt them if they try anything," I put in causally, making them glide back sharply.

"Well, yeah, you could," the Doctor nods, smirking that they backed away from me. "Although... there is always this," he holds up his sonic.

"A sonic probe?" Dalek Sec asks.

"That's 'screwdriver'," the Doctor and I correct in offense.

"It is harmless!" Dalek Sec waves off... well, not... not wave. If it had a hand to wave. I guess it could use its little plunger manipulator or whisk-like gun. I shake my head, trying not to laugh at the mental picture.

"Oh yes, harmless is just the word," the Doctor beams. "That's why I like it! Doesn't kill, doesn't wound, doesn't maim! But I'll tell you what it does do: it is very good at opening doors," he flicks the sonic on and immediately the doors explode inward.

Jake, his men, and Cybermen rush in and start shooting at the Daleks. The Doctor, Rose, and I dive to the floor to avoid the bullets. "You teamed up with the Cybermen? Seriously!?" I look at Kas incredulously as I pull out my blaster, shooting at the Daleks.

"I didn't have any other options!" he shouts, shielding Rose.

"Delete! Delete! Delete! Delete!"

"Alert! Casing impact! Casing impact!"

"Rose, get out!" the Doctor shouts, pushing her to the door.

I glance back to see Rose stumble and fall to her knees. I rush over to help - dodging bullets and shooting at the Daleks behind me - but freeze. Dad... no, Pete was helping her to her feet. Pete glances at me, his face stoic as he pulls Rose from the room.

"Firepower insufficient! Firepower insufficient!"

I shake my head, trying to clear it and grab Kas by the arm, dragging him from the room, "Mouse!" I shout over my shoulder when I notice he was still firing at the Daleks.

"Daleks will be deleted! Delete! Delete!"

"Mickey, come on!" Rose tries to go get him, but dad... no, Pete holds her back.

"Adapt to weaponry!"

"Firepower restored!"

"Mouse, get the hell out of there! I'll cover you!" I shout, firing.

Jake makes it to the door, but Mouse falls and his hand lands on the Genesis Ark.

"Cybermen primary target!"

The rest of Jake's men manage to slip through the door. "Jake, check the stairwell!" I call after him as he runs down the corridor, hearing an 'on it, gorgeous' back and I smile to myself as my cheeks burn.

The Ark starts to smoke and one of the Daleks move to be in front of it while they focus on the Cybermen. I holster my blaster and the Doctor, Rose, Mouse, Pete, and I run down the corridors. "Da- Pete?" I ask, staring at him in shock and he looks away from me, making me bite my lip as my heart aches.

"I just fell! I didn't mean it!" Mouse exclaims desperately.

"Mickey, without us, they'd have opened it by force. To do that, they'd have blown up the sun. You've done us a favor," Kas beams, grabbing his head and kissing the top of it as we run, making me snort as Mouse grimaces and wipes at his head. "Now, run!" he grabs my hand, pulling me after him and I grab Rose's quickly and she grabs Mouse's.

The five of us stop when we come upon two Cybermen in the corridor. "You will be upgraded!"

"No, but you can't! Please!" I hear mum scream.

I pull out my blaster at the same time Pete grabs Mouse's gun and we shoot a Cyberman each, both of them falling to the ground as their heads explode. When they're out of the way, mum stares at dad... no, Pete like she's seen a ghost. "Pete!" she cries with a pale face and Rose puts her hands to her mouth, me watching them closely as I holster my blaster.

"Hello, Jacks," he swallows, making my lips twitch up and my heart ache at the nickname.

"I said they were ghosts, but that's not fair! Why him?"

"I'm not a ghost..."

"But you're dead! You died twenty years ago, Pete!"

"It's Pete from a different universe, from the one Mickey went to," Kas tries to explain carefully, stepping forward a bit. "There are parallel worlds, Jackie, every single decision we make-" he stops when I cover his mouth, making him give me a look that I fully return.

"Thank you, sweetheart," mum smiles.

I pull my hand away from the Doctor's mouth and curtsy, "you're welcome, mum," I smirk, making Rose and Mouse snicker.

Mum shakes her head, looking dad - you know what? I'm just going to accept that in my head, he'll be dad instead of trying to correct myself every time I slip. "Oh... you look old," she shakes her head.

"You don't," dad smiles.

"How can you be standing there?"

"Just got lucky... lived my life," he shrugs. "You were left on your own... you didn't marry again, or...?"

"There was never anyone else," mum admits quietly, making Kas and Mouse smirk while Rose and I beam at each other. "Twenty years, though, look at me," she scoffs. "I never left that flat... did nothing with myself."

"... brought them up," dad nods to Rose and me, making me smile as tears well up. "Lizzie and Rose Tyler, that's not bad," he sends us a quick smile before looking back at mum.

"Yeah," mum smiles between us proudly.

"In my world, it worked... all those daft little plans of mine? They worked, made me rich."

"I don't care about that," mum denies immediately and I smirk when she pauses, biting her lip. "How rich?"

"Very," dad smirks.

"I don't care about that," mum denies and then pauses again. "How very?"

Dad laughs, Rose rolls her eyes with a smile, and I laugh into my hand as the Doctor smiles at mum fondly. "The thing is, though, Jacks... you're... you're not my wife," dad denies, his voice wavering. "I'm sorry, but you're not... I mean, we both-" he cuts himself off as mum stares at him, nodding along. "You know, it's just sort of..." he trails off before dropping the gun in his hands and rushing forward. "Oh, come here," his voice cracks as mum jumps into his arms and he lifts her up in a tight hug.

I smile, tears welling up as I watch my Human parents finally together. The universe tried to keep them apart, but here they are... hugging the life out of each other. My smile widens when I feel arms go around me, Kas' hands slipping just under my shirt and he strokes my tattoo with his thumb. I lean back against him, holding back a shudder as he presses his lips to my neck. I giggle quietly and he smiles against my skin before straightening a bit and leaning his chin on top of my head as we both watch mum and dad.

***
The six of us - Kas, Rose, mum, dad, Mouse, and I - go down to the factory floor. Kas and I had an idea that could work, but we need Magna-clamps for it so we don't die. We poke our heads through the double-doors, seeing that the Daleks and Cybermen had brought their fighting down here. The Doctor dives into the room, hurrying over to the crate that had the magnets while dodging bullets. Rose and I watch anxiously, gripping each other's hands tightly. Rose flinches and tightens her hold on my hand every time a beam gets near Kas and I bite my lip, picking at my holster with my free hand. He gets two Magna-clamps and then hurries back, using them to deflect any beams that could've hit him. I jolt forward when he trips over a dead Cybermen, but Rose holds me back quickly. "Come on, please," she whispers.

I breathe out in relief when the Doctor gets up and runs through the door with me closing it behind him. The Doctor hands dad the clamps and then slips his 3D specs on. Opening the door again, he pokes his head in with Mouse right under him and then Rose, and then me. Mum and dad were watching from the other side of the door.

"Override the mechanism!" Dalek Sec orders and the roof slowly starts to open up, making me frown as the Doctor slips the specs on me. There were void particles all over the Genesis Ark as well. "Elevate!" Sec orders and the four Daleks and the Genesis Ark slowly levitate upwards out of the building.

"What're they doing? Why'd they need to get outside?" Rose frowns as we watch them.

"Time Lord science... what Time Lord science?" Kas frowns, taking the glasses off me and slipping them into his pocket. "What is it?"

"We've got to see what it's doing," I shake my head, shutting the door and the six of us head off down the corridor. "We've got to go back up! Come on!"

"All of you! Top floor!" Kas calls over his shoulder, grabbing my hand.

"That's forty-five floors!" mum protests. "Believe me, I've done 'em all!"

"We could always take the lift..." Jake's voice catches our attention.

The six of us turn to see him with his head sticking out of a lift and he smirks, wiggling his eyebrows. "Jake, you clever boy," I smile, pulling Kas into the lift with the others following, kissing Jake on the cheek as I pass him and he sends me a cheeky wink that makes me giggle with a slight blush. The Doctor - being the caveman he is - wraps his arms around my shoulders and pulls me back against him possessively as he narrows his eyes at Jake. Though, I'm pretty sure that Jake has only ever flirted with me to get a rise out of the Doctor... especially if his proud smirk was anything to go by as the lift doors close.

***

Getting to the rift chamber, dad sets the Magna-clamps down on Yvonne's desk as we all head to the windows to look outside. The Ark was open now and spinning quickly, shooting Dalek after Dalek out. My face pales as I get a wave of horror and fear and anger, my breathing quickly becoming ragged as I grip Kas' bicep with my hands. "Oh, my God..." I whimper, watching all of the chaos down below as the Daleks shoot Cybermen and Humans alike.

"Time Lord science... it's bigger on the inside," Kas whispers in horror.

"Did the Time Lords put those Daleks in there? What for?" Mouse frowns, his arm around Rose as he rubs her side comfortingly.

"It's a prison ship..."

"How many Daleks?" Rose asks warily, snuggling into Mouse.

"Millions..." my voice cracks.

"Exterminate all life forms below! Exterminate!" Dalek Sec orders from outside.

I whimper at the sound of their lasers and their screams of 'exterminate'. Kas' broken scream from when I died goes through my mind and I hiss at the pain... why did it still hurt? Kas takes his arm from my grip and wraps his arm around me, pulling me close.

"I'm sorry, but you've had it," dad shakes his head, stepping out of the office. "This world's gonna crash and burn, there's nothing we can do, we're going home," he decides. "Jacks, take this," he tosses her one of the dimension hoppers.

"But they're destroying the city!" mum stares at him in horror.

"I'd forgotten you could argue," dad smiles fondly, taking the hopper and looping it around mum's neck. "It's not just London, it's the whole world," he cups her face in his hands. "But there's another world just waiting for you, Jacks, and it's safe... as long as the Doctor closes the breach," he releases her, turning to Kas and I. "... Doctor?"

The Doctor lets go of me and he turns from the window, placing his 3D specs back on with a wide grin. "Oh, I'm ready!" he beams, making me giggle and he grabs my hand, twirling me in front of him. "We've got the equipment right here! Thank you, Torchwood!" he pulls me over to one of the computers.

"Slam it down and close off both universes!" I beam as the two of us work, really, really trying to ignore my stomach knotting up and my heart clenching painfully as I get pangs of grief and guilt.

Computer - Re-boot system

"But we can't just leave!" Rose argues. "What about the Daleks and the Cybermen?"

"They're part of the problem, and that makes them-" Kas beams, clicking his fingers and pointing down at me.

"Part of the solution!" I throw my hands up in the air.

"Oh, yes! That's my girl!" the Doctor laughs, ruffling my hair. "Well!? Isn't anyone gonna ask? What is it with the glasses?" he points to his specs with a huge grin.

"Honestly, I thought someone would have by now... but I guess they are used to you being a dork," I snicker, making the Doctor pout and shove me forward lightly.

"What is it with the glasses?" Rose laughs.

"We can see! That's what!" the Doctor exclaims, making me snort loudly. "Cause we've got two separate worlds, but in between the two separate worlds, we've got the void," he explains quickly.

"That's where the Daleks were hiding and the Cybermen traveled through the void to get here!" I add, bouncing on the balls of my feet.

"And you lot!" Kas points to the parallel group. "One world to another, via the void!" he pauses, tilting his head thoughtfully. "Oh, I like that! 'Via the void'!" he muses, making me giggle. "Look!" he takes the glasses off and slips them onto Rose's face. "I've been through it," he stands in front of her. "Do you see?"

I giggle as he bops from side to side so Rose can see the green speckles moving around him. Kas grabs my hand and twirls me around. "I've been through it too- Kas!" I squeak when he dips me quickly, making him laugh.

"What is it?" Rose laughs at the two of us.

Computer - Re-boot in three minutes

"Void stuff!" Kas and I beam.

"Like, um... background radiation!"

"That's it!" Kas grins, moving to stand behind Rose and he places his hands on her shoulders. "Look at the others," he nods to them.

"The only one who hasn't been through the void? Mum," I grin.

"First time she's looked normal all her life," Kas smirks, making Rose and I giggle.

"Oi!" mum glares at him.

Kas drags me over to the giant wall with Rose following excitedly... good. "The Daleks lived inside the void and now they are steeped in void stuff! The Cybermen, all of them!" I explain.

"We just open the void and reverse! The void stuff gets sucked back inside!"

"Pulling them all in," Rose realizes, miming by drawing her arms to her chest.

"Pulling them all in!" the Doctor and I laugh, miming as well.

"Sorry... what's... what's the void?" Mouse frowns between the three of us.

"The dead space," I shrug, turning to him.

"Some people call it Hell," the Doctor adds.

"So... you're sending the Daleks and Cybermen to Hell?" Mouse smiles, slipping his hopper around his neck. "Man, I told you they were good," he nudges Jake in the ribs with his elbow.

"Aw, Mouse," I smile shyly with a slight blush, making him laugh.

"But it's... like you said," Rose cuts in, making me falter. "We've all got void stuff... me too, cause we went to that parallel world," she looks down at her hand. I was hoping that she wouldn't have figured it out before Kas and I could get her away. "We're all contaminated... we'll get pulled in," she looks between us.

I stand in front of her with the Doctor, putting my hands on her shoulders, "that's why you've got to go," I smile sadly, brushing some hair behind her ear.

Computer - Re-boot in two minutes

"Back to Pete's world," Kas tells her gently before pointing to dad. "Hey, we shoot call it that! Pete's world!"

"We're... opening the void, but only on this side and you'll be safe on that side," I tell Rose, tears welling up.

"And then you close it? For good?" dad makes sure.

"The breach itself is soaked in void stuff," Kas nods. "In the end, it'll close itself and that's it - kaput."

"But you two stay on this side...?" Rose stares between us, her voice wavering.

"But you'll both get pulled in!" Mouse argues.

"That's why-" Kas runs over and grabs the Magna-clamps. "-we've got these! We'll just have to hold on tight! I've been doing it all my life," he grins, guilt and grief washing over me.

"I've been following this idiot since I met him... bad influence on me, he is," I joke, making the Doctor pout.

"I'm supposed to go?" Rose whispers.

"Yeah," the Doctor nods.

"To another world... and then it gets sealed off?"

"Yeah..." the Doctor repeats, not looking at her as he goes over to the computer.

"Forever?" she shrugs me off. "That's not gonna happen," she gives a derisive laugh as a crash from outside shakes the building.

"We haven't got time to argue," dad shakes his head. "The plan works, we go in! You too, all of us!"

"No, I'm not leaving them!" Rose glares at him.

"I'm not going without my girls! Either of them!" mum agrees.

"Oh, my God! We're going!" dad groans in exasperation.

"I've had twenty years without you, so button it! I'm not leaving them!"

"You've got to," I whisper, staring between Rose and mum as a tear slides down my cheek.

"Well, that's tough!" mum scoffs.

"Mum... Rose... I don't age anymore, I regenerate like Kas does," I whisper. "I... won't have anyone over there after you've gone and I would never leave him," I tell them firmly, my voice shaky.

Computer - Re-boot in one minute

"I'm not leaving you," Rose shakes her head, tears in her eyes. "You're my sister - my best friend! Both of you!" she looks at the Doctor.

"Rose, you'll still have mum and Mouse... and now dad-"

"But I won't have either of you!" Rose cries, wiping at her face.

Kas comes up behind her with a hopper in his hand and he loops it around her neck. Mouse sends me a sad, but understanding smile as he presses down on his. "What're you-?" Rose starts to turn to Kas before she disappears.

Putting a hand to my mouth, I choke out a sob as I stare at the place she was. The Doctor places a hand on my shoulder, guilt and grief washing over me. I yelp, nearly jumping out of my skin when Rose reappears after only a couple seconds. "I think this is the on-switch..." she murmurs as she looks down at the hopper.

Kas moves over and grabs Rose by the shoulders roughly, leaning down a bit so he can look her in the eye while I just stare at her in horror. "Once the breach closes, that's it! You will never be able to see her again! Your own mother!"

"I made my choice a long time ago... and I'm never gonna leave you," Rose stands her ground, making the Doctor freeze as he stares at her.

"Rose-"

"No!" she cuts me off, pushing the Doctor's hands off her shoulders which makes them fall to his sides. "I'm not leaving you! You're my family and we stick together! Forever," she stays firm, looking between us. "So what can I do to help?"

Computer - Systems re-boot. Open access

I shake my head, trying to get over my shock, "those co-ordinates over there... set- set them all at six," I murmur faintly, pointing to one of the computers.

"And hurry up!" Kas shouts.

Rose flinches as she goes over to one of the computers, taking off the dimension hopper and setting it down. I breathe out shakily, running my hands over my face. I glance at the Doctor to see him staring at Rose, a strong mix of emotions hitting me. "... we should have known, really," I mutter so only he can hear me.

"Yeah..." he whispers, still staring at Rose in complete awe and shock.

"We've got Cybermen on the way!" Rose calls and that snaps us out of it.

Kas and I rush over to look at the other computer. "How many floors down?" I ask quickly as I look and sure enough, there were a few life readings that were on the way up to the rift chamber. "Brilliant... just one," I sigh as Kas and I get to work.

Computer - Lever operational

Beaming, Kas sends me a wink that makes me giggle. Rose grins between us, "that's more like it! Bit of a smile! The old team!"

"The Mysterious Trio! The Three Musketeers!" the Doctor laughs, grabbing the Magna-clamps and handing one to Rose.

"The Oncoming Storm, the Supernova, and the Big Bad Wolf," I smile, making them laugh.

"Oh, I like that one," Rose gives a tongue-in-teeth grin.

"Me too," the Doctor laughs as he and Rose attach the Magna-clamps to the walls next to the levers.

"Me three!" I laugh.

"Press the red button," Kas orders Rose as I do the same with our clamp. "When it starts, just hold on tight," he moves over, putting his hands on Rose's shoulders. "Star and I will have to share... didn't plan on you being here..."

"Shouldn't be too bad for us," I cut in when Rose's smile falters a bit. "But the Daleks and the Cyberman are covered in void stuff," I explain. "Are you ready?"

"... so are they," Rose glances out the window and I look to see a Dalek appear.

"You've got this," Kas beams down at Rose, pulling her into a tight hug and pressing a kiss to the top of her head before rushing to our clamp.

"Hold on tight," I pull her into a hug, kissing her cheek and she squeezes me before pulling away.

The two of us rush over to the clamps and I wrap my hands around the handle. "Let's do it!" he smiles and he and Rose push the levers upward before they hold onto the clamps as well.

Computer - Online

The room fills with bright light from the rift and an extremely strong wind. The Daleks and Cybermen get pulled into the void, breaking the glass as they're pulled into the room and rush past us. "The breach is open! Into the void! Ha!" the Doctor laughs.

I whoop and cheer with the Doctor and Rose, but the three of us stop when there's a small explosion from the lever on Rose's side.

Computer - Offline

"Turn it on!" the Doctor and I shout over the wind.

The wind begins to die down and I chew on my bottom lip, watching Rose anxiously as my heart beats rapidly. Rose reaches for the lever while also trying to keep her grip on the Magna-clamp. It's just out of reach of her fingers and I hold my arm out to her fruitlessly as she falls onto the lever. "Rose!" I scream as I get a wave of horror and worry from Kas.

"I've got to get it upright!" she shouts, pushing the lever up and after a few moments - which feels like forever - she gets it to the right position.

Computer - Online and locked

The wind picks up once more, but I watch in horror as Rose only has the lever to hold onto now. "Rose, hold on!" Kas shouts desperately.

"Hold on!" I scream.

Kas and I both reach out to her in vain, my heart pounding in my ears. My heart nearly stops when - with a cry - Rose loses her grip. "No!" I scream, my voice breaking as I reach for her with both hands, only for the Doctor to wrap an arm around my waist.

I stare in absolute horror as she pulled toward the void, only for dad to pop up right before she reaches the rift. Rose looks over his shoulder and I see her eyes widen right before she and dad are teleported out with the dimension hopper. The breach closes itself off and the wind dies down as I fall to the floor on my knees. Standing on shaky legs, I run to the wall. "Come back! Rose, come back!" I scream, pounding on the wall as tears stream down my face. "Rose!"

3rd Person POV:

"Take me back! Take me back!" Rose screams, beating on the parallel wall in the same spot as her big sister with tears running down her face. "Take me back to them! I promised! I said I'd be with them forever! Take me back!"

Mickey and Jackie stare at Rose as she starts to hyperventilate, completely broken and lost. Pete takes his hopper from around his neck and looks at it for a moment. "It's stopped working... they did it, they closed the breach," he mutters, trying not to flinch when Rose's sobs grow.

Jackie puts both hands over her mouth as she chokes on a sob. Mickey wraps her up in his arms, burying his face against her shoulder so no one sees his own tears. Rose hits the wall one more time, "Lizzie..." she whimpers, her face screwed up in pain as she presses her fists against the wall.

1st Person POV:

My light flows around my whole body, "please, Rose, come back! Bring her back!" I continue to beat on the wall when I feel Kas behind me. "Bring her back to me!" I scream, pressing my hands on the wall and blasting it with the full force of my light. A hole burns into the wall, but of course, there's nothing on the other side of it. "Please..." I whimper, feeling arms wrap around my waist. "No, bring her back!" I thrash against the Doctor's hold on me. "Let me go! Bring her back!" I scream when he turns me and holds me against his chest. "Please... please bring her back... I need her, Kas, I need her, please," I sob into his chest as I grip onto his lapels so tight my knuckles go white.

Kas tightens his arms around me, forcing me to stop moving as I continue to use up all of my energy trying to burn through the wall. A continuous wave of grief and guilt washes over me as I slowly lose consciousness.

3rd Person POV:

The Doctor sinks to the ground, Star in his lap and passed out from exhaustion. He stares up at the massive hole in the wall - the edges white-hot - with an empty expression. Rose was his best mate, Star's baby sister... his baby sister. His hearts ache and he holds Star closer to him, tears in his eyes as he tries to reassure himself that at least she was here in his arms. It wasn't the same, though, he needed Rose too. He needed his girls together... they made him better, made the pain less. Letting out a shaky breath that was close to a sob, he stands, bringing Star with him and he carries her to the TARDIS.

***

"Rose..." the Doctor and Star's voice whisper.

Rose Tyler shoots up in her bed at the Tyler Mansion, tears streaming down her face. Mickey sits up when he hears her hiccuping sobs and wraps an arm around her. Rose leans against him, sobbing into his chest as he tries to calm her down uselessly.

Rose - Last night I had a dream...

"Rose..."

Rose - I heard voices and they were calling my name...

"Rose... Rose... Rose..."

Rose - I told mum and dad and Mickey. Anyone else would think I was mad, but not those three... they believed it. Because they knew the Doctor and Lizzie... knew what they were capable of together. So, they listened to the dream. They were calling me, and... and that night, we packed up. Got into dad's old jeep and off we went. Just like the dream said. Followed the voices... across the water... kept on driving hundreds and hundreds of miles... because they're calling me...

"Rose..."

Rose - Here I am, at last, and this is the story... of how I died...

Rose stands on a beach in Norway, Mickey and Jackie on either side of her with Pete by the jeep in the back.

1st Person POV:

I woke up a few days after... it happened. I was a wreck, but the Doctor found a way for me to say goodbye... to see my Rose one last time. There was one last little crack and we put our voices calling for Rose through it so she could follow them. I was sitting on the jump-seat, staring at the ground with red and sore eyes. Kas comes over and pulls me up, squeezes my hands reassuringly, and turns me. My hand flies to my mouth as I see Rose, mum, and Mouse standing there... it was like they were really in the TARDIS.

"Where are you?" Rose looks between us.

"Inside the TARDIS," Kas replies, wrapping his arm around me and I lean against him. "There's one tiny little gap in the universe left... just about to close and it takes a lot of power to send this projection," he explains.

"We're in orbit around a supernova... we're burning up a sun just to say goodbye," I smile, my voice cracking horribly.

"Lizzie..." mum stares at me, her voice quiet.

"You look like ghosts," Rose shakes her head.

"Hold on..." I mutter, pulling my sonic from my holster and aiming it at the console to boost the signal.

Rose moves forward, "can I...?" she raises a hand, looking between the Doctor and I.

"We're still just an image - no touch," Kas' voice shakes a bit.

"Can't you come through properly?"

"The whole thing would fracture... two universes would collapse," I shake my head, wiping at my eyes.

"So?" Rose retorts, making us all smile.

"Where are we? Where did the gap come out?" Kas asks curiously.

"We're in bloody Norway!" mum narrows her eyes playfully.

"Norway... right..." he nods, rubbing at his earlobe and I snort loudly as mum rolls her eyes with a sad smile.

"About fifty miles out of Bergen," Rose smiles. "It's called 'Darlig Ulv Stranden'."

"Dalek?" the Doctor and I both freeze.

"'Darl-ig," she corrects. "It's Norwegian for 'bad'... this translates as 'Bad Wolf Bay'," she laughs lightly, wiping at her eyes with her sleeve.

"Of course it does," I giggle, the Doctor chuckling beside me but the three of us stop laughing instantly when the reality of the situation returns.

"How long have we got?" Rose's voice cracks.

"About two minutes..."

"I can't think of what to say!" Rose laughs.

"That's a first," I tease, making the Doctor snort quietly.

"You've still got Mr. Mickey, then?" he nods to him.

"Yeah, she always does," Mouse smiles, stepping up and wrapping an arm around her.

"We're... trying properly," Rose smiles. "And it's five of us now: mum, dad, Mickey, and the baby," she smiles.

My eyes widen and I look at Rose's stomach. "You're not?" Kas asks, looking between them with a small smile.

"No," Rose laughs, elbowing Mickey when he laughs as well. "It's mum!"

"Really?" I look at mum, a wide smile forming.

"I'm three months gone," she smiles, rubbing her stomach.

"More Tylers on the way," Rose grins.

"You'll... will you-" my voice cracks. "You'll tell 'em about me, yeah?"

"Of course we will," Rose smiles through her tears.

"... and what about you? Are you...?" Kas asks, squeezing me.

"Yeah, I'm... I'm back working in the shop," she tells us, making me blink a few times. What?

"Oh... good for you," Kas tries not to sound surprised or disappointed.

"Shut up! No, I'm not!" Rose laughs. "There's still a Torchwood on this planet. It's open for business. I think I know a thing or two about aliens," she smiles between us, a tear rolling down her cheek.

"Rose Tyler, Defender of the Earth," the Doctor beams at her, so incredibly proud. "... you're dead... officially, back home," he tells her and I wipe at my eyes. "So many people died that day and you've gone missing... you're on a list of the dead, both of you," he looks at mum. "Here you are! Living a life, day after day! The one adventure we can never have..."

"Are we ever gonna see you again?" mum asks quietly.

"You c-can't..." I shake my head.

"What're you gonna do?" Mouse asks.

"Oh, we've got the TARDIS," Kas waves off, grief hitting me. "Same old life... last of the Time Lords and last of the Iralians," he smiles sadly.

"On your own?" Rose's voice breaks.

"... we've got each other," I smile.

"I lo-" Rose chokes out, putting a hand to her mouth before breathing out shakily. "I love you," she cries.

"Quite right too... my Rose," Kas smiles at her softly.

"I love you," I choke out. "All of you," I look between the three of them. "I'm sor-" I start to say right as they disappear.

I stare at the place they were standing with grief washing over me, amplifying my own. I turn into Kas, looking up at him to see tears running down his cheeks. "Oh, Kas..." I whisper, leaning up on my tip-toes to cup his face in my hands and wipe his tears away with my thumbs.

Kas leans into my touch, wrapping his arms around me and letting out a shaky breath as he kisses my forehead. I watch him carefully as he pulls away but I frown when I see his eyes widen in shock. Turning in his arms, my own eyes widen when I see a woman with ginger hair standing in the console room, wearing a wedding dress. "What?" Kas squeaks, both of us gaping at the woman and she turns, yelping in surprise when she sees us. "What!?"

"Who are you?" the bride looks between us.

"But..." Kas looks around the console room as if he'd find an answer.

"Where am I?" she raises her voice.

"What!?"

"What the hell is this place?" the bride shouts as she looks around in fear.

"... what!?"
