~Chapter 2~

I tuck the paper inside my jacket as I make my way to the second door leading back me back outside. I grasp the cold metal handle and push open the big, heavy grey door, stepping out into the quiet and still stormy night.

I pull my hood over my head as I splash through the puddles to my car. I open the slick black door and slip into the dark grey leather seat and toss the paper onto the seat next to me. I glance at it before starting the car and putting on my seat belt.

I shake my head and let a small sigh slip from my mouth.

"What is inside that truck?" I ask myself out loud.

I grab my phone and pick the paper back up. I go to Google Maps on my iPhone 4s as click on the little white arrow in the slanted blue box. I click on the empty text box that faintly says Choose destination. I look back at the paper and read the address to myself as I begun to enter it into the text box.

"22134 Mary Lane." I spoke the address aloud as I typed it out and pushed the search button.

The map went blank for a second and then loaded. And two different routes pop up on the map with two light blue trails highlighting the road routes. I click on the first one and it reads an hour and thirty minutes. While the second route reads three minutes behind the first. I sit there for a few seconds thinking.

Do I want to get there sooner or do I want to get there later?!

I question myself and then face palm myself.

Well I don't want to be out there for any longer than I have to.

So I click on the second one. And my journey begins as I back up and start driving down the damp, yet still super wet road.

Well this is gonna take a while...

I say as I sigh and put in a random CD into the car's player.

Literally two hours had passed and I had finally arrived at my "desired" destination. It had taken me a half hour longer than it should've.

Stupid GPS. Although it's not really the GPS's fault...

Because I did stop to rummage through that gas station a few miles back. And that took me a whole ten minutes to try and find some extra gas.

I didn't really want to waste any time stopping, but I kind of needed to. Considering the fact that I almost had an empty tank. And I hadn't of taken a pit stop, I would probably be stranded.

'Ugh, I got sidetracked. Stop it. You need to get this over with.' I said to myself, snapping out of thought.

So I then shut off the car and got out. I slowly closed the door quietly behind me, trying my best not to make too much noise. And immediately put my hood up, to the fact that it was still raining. As I made my way towards the building, I looked before me at a red-bricked building that had weeds grown up to at least a foot tall.

It also had vines and poison oak covering the walls.

I stopped in my tracks as I examined the building in front of me from a different angle. I glanced noticed cracks in the windows and the paint chipping off the cheap old metal door. From where I was standing, it seemed pretty deserted.

This place looks like an abandoned company building... It has to be one. But where's the sign??

I glanced up at the roof and spun around to look for a sign. But to my surprise, there was not one to be seen.

Oh well. I shrugged it off and kept on walking.

As I continued walking, I felt a breeze of cold air go down my spine.

"Dang, it's really quiet.." I whisper quietly to no one but myself.

I suddenly felt cold and anxious. The only sounds I could hear was of the rain hitting the pavement and my rain jacket. But there was this other sound that made me suspiciously scared. As I walked, my black converse sneakers are making splash sounds as I stepped in puddles upon puddles. But it was double the amounting was supposed to be.

Wait, why do I hear four footsteps?! I only have two feet.. Not four.

Coming to a halt once more, I shivered and I peered over my shoulder, getting the feeling as if someone was watching me.

I shook my head, knowing that there wouldn't be anyone in sight for miles.

It was probably just my footsteps echoing..

Approaching the red metal door leading to the interior of building, I turned the doorknob and found that it's locked. I frown and step away from the door and push my hair out of my face as I size it up. I bite my lip as I stepped towards the door once again. And throw my body against it, thus ramming my shoulder into the door. But it didn't budge.

So I step back once more and examine at what I had done. The door is weak, which probably means it has not been used in years. Though I did put a huge dent in it.

I then decided I needed to try a different approach. So I stepped back once more and kicked the door with all my might. It immediately came timbering down with a bang as it echoed and hit the cement.

Wow, this place must be really old..

I stepped on the door on accident, almost putting a hole in with shoe as I tried to jump over it. It was pitch black as I stepped inside. It was even colder in here than it was outside. I felt around for a light switch. Not that I thought that the power actually worked.

I pulled out the flashlight I had found in that gas station from my coat pocket. As I turned it on I seen something I had never seen before.

Chubby?!

I was udderly baffled as I picked him up off the ground. It was my old stuffed teddy bear from when I was 10. And the only way I knew it was him for sure was because he's in the same condition as I had left him. Or should I say, as I had lost him. When I lost him he was missing an eye that Mack replaced with a button, and he was also missing an arm that was sewed shut by my mom. And strangely he still is in that same condition.

Although he is a little dirty.

Though the thing I don't quite understand is how he got here in the first place. Because I'm pretty sure that I've never ever been here before.

Though that was a while ago, so I could've just forgotten over the years..

I didn't know whether I should leave him behind or take him with me. He may have been my best friend when I was little.

But I'm not a little kid anymore.

And though I did really miss having him to comfort me throughout these past terrible few years.

But I'm basically an adult.

Although he does hold a lot of good memories from my childhood.

He's just a stuffed animal.

And I don't need to be carrying him around again.

Though I'm not really what you would call a "mature adult"...

I sat there for a few more seconds thinking, staring at him before I made up my mind.

Screw it.

And with that, I decided to keep him with me once more. So I held carried him close as I walked through the pitch black room with nothing but a flashlight to lead my way through the "darkness".
