|Third Person POV|

Sonic's ear twitches, when he heard people cooing at something and the sound of his son whimpering. He shifts in the bed opening his eyes to see what was going on, his body was still sore from yesterday, and from just crying to himself last night, he looks over at the bassinet and sees his siblings crowding around Shadic who was whimpering as if he was about to cry, probably not use to the attention he was getting right now. Sonic just rubbing his eyes before letting out a yawn, he saw that Shadow's jacket was on the chair did his Mom take it off of him or did he? It doesn't matter, "Morning...Everyone?"

"Sonic!" His Siblings said when they heard him speak they turned their attention over to him, before they flinched when Shadic just burst into tears, just unable to handle the attention, he was getting from the faces that he didn't recognize yet. "I told you three to not crowd around the newborn..." Aleena said with her hand on her hip.

"I'm sorry Sweetheart..." Aleena said to the newborn picking him up from the bassinet, gently handing him over to Sonic. Who cradles the newborn trying to quiet him down.

"Sorry Mom." The three said to Aleena, who only pointed to the door for them to get out. "Only at a time." She hissed the three hedgehog's flinch at the hiss before they dashed out of the room to wait for their turn. Aleena shakes her head folding her arms. "Sorry about that Sonic...if I'd known better they wouldn't have woken him up."

Sonic just pats the newborn's back, as it was drinking from his nipple, it was hungry and frighten at the sight off all three hedgehog looking at him. Sonic looks back at Aleena. "Mom..."

"Yes dear?"

"Are you guys keeping something from me?" Sonic asked rather upset about Shadow not showing up, cause he knows the ebony hedgehog is smart enough to actually get some his memories back, and he knows that the hedgehog got his arm ripped off but that was just an easy fix, but was there something else that they weren't telling him. Aleena looks away nervously she didn't want to lie to her son, since they are family. "Of course not honey." She said sitting down in the chair next to him.

Sonic only looks down, he lets out a sigh. Shadic had already finished he was only sucking on his thumb purring. "Thanks Mom, I guess." He admits he didn't want her to feel bad so he accepts the answer he got, if anything he really wanted to see Shadow, and not be single parent of two kids. He smiles down at Shadic at least he has his son.

"Look Sonic...I know you miss Shadow, but right now. Shadic and Maria need you." Aleena tells her son only nodded

"I know Mom, I...It's just gonna get hard, from here, but I know I can count on Maria to at least help." He admits with a small, just feeling Shadic nuzzle into his stomach curling up into a small spike ball, though his quills were to soft to actually do arm to anyone, but he was comfortable.

"I know you can do it," Aleena smiles giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Do you want me to hold off on letting your siblings see him?"

"Please...I think he's still tired, like I am." Sonic said the metal door slide open and Maria walked into the room. "Can I...cuddle?"

Sonic blinks he had notice Maria was with his siblings but she was an exception since she was only six and didn't understand the whole "Give me space" kind of thing, the blue hedgehog only smiled scooping her up and placing her to his side. "Of course Mar-Mar, I missed you my little Princess." Sonic said giving her kiss on the side of her head she only closes her eyes, she was still small but bigger than Shadic was but just to small to hold her sibling in her arms.

Aleena only smiles as she walked out of the room, to talk to her other children, who looked rather impatient, and jealous of Maria being allowed into the room.

Maria nuzzling into Sonic chest purring her ear twitching slightly at the sound his beating heart, it was comforting to her in away, she didn't understand why though. Sonic just lets out a yawn, he looks out at the window that was looking in, at least he could ask his Mom for some Shadic's baby pictures, can he actually continue like this, he just felt so alone without Shadow, and looking at Maria kind of remind the azure hedgehog of Shadow cause of how similar she looked to him. Just with more fluffiness to her quills and around her face. A sigh escapes his nose as he just takes the food that his Mom left for him, opening it he still had to watch what he ate for these the rest of the month. Shadic is still to early to move on from breastfeeding to formula. So he had to continue with feeding him naturally at least the food didn't smell bad so it will have to do.

"How's my little brother doing?" Sonia said walking into the room, Shadic was wide awake he was just sitting up and on Maria's lap since it was the only way she could hold him.

"Little!! We are Quadruplets." Sonic growled folding his arms, the magenta hedgehog chuckle, before turning her attention to Maria and Shadic and smile. "Oh my chaos Sonic, he's so handsome." She said.

"Heh...Thanks Sonia, he's is." Sonic admits petting Shadic's head with his finger. He only purrs. "You can hold him, now...he finally had time to calm down."

"Maria..." Sonia said, Maria smiled and let's go of her brother for Sonia to pick up, Shadic looks at Sonia tilting his head, he was holding Jazz who didn't mind at all, she was use to being held. "Hey there, Shadic...I'm your Aunt Sonia, is so wonderful to meet you." The newborn only looks at Sonia before looking away.

"Sorry Sonia, he's still adjusting...I'm sure he'll like you." Sonic admits with a small smile on his face.

"It's okay Sonic, to him I probably sound like and look like a stranger." Sonia said with a smile but she puts Shadic back on the bed she understood that he didn't want to be held right now. Shadic just sat there with Jazz in his arms. "I'm jealous Sonic...your kids are to adorable..." she said. Sonic only chuckles softly as he was rubbing his eyes, "Thanks Sonia." The rest of the visit when on like normal, his siblings getting a chance to hold Shadic and introduce themselves as who they are. Sally and Silver got to stay the longest and so did Maria.

"You look tired Sonic?" Sally said looking at the blue hedgehog, Silver was just help Maria with holding Shadic properly on her lap at least, the newborn was holding the stuffed Shadow in his arms Jazz just on Maria's shoulders.

"I...I didn't get sleep last night, I'm okay though, waiting for the okay from the door so I can just go back to my room..." Sonic admits fixing his quills a little bit, he really didn't know how messy his quills were, but he watches Silver and Maria.

"I'm sure it will be soon Sonic..." Sally said placing her hand on his shoulder. Silver yelps when his long quills were pulled by Shadic who didn't know any better, he is a little handsy.

"Sorry Silver...he likes to pull on things" Sonic snickers at Silver who just pulls his quills away from Shadic who only giggled at Silver.

"You'd think I'd learn my lesson with Maria..." Silver stated fixing his quills. Before turning his attention to Sonic. "Though if he does have telekinesis, I'll be willing to help."

"Thanks Silver, but I have faith that he doesn't have that gene..." Sonic admits with a tired smile on his face. It probably an hour before Sally and Silver left leaving Sonic alone with his kids, Maria whimpers when her quills were pulled. "Ow...Shadic...that hurts." The newborn only giggles clapping his hands before pulling harder on Maria's quills making the small hedgehog yelp out in pain, jolting Sonic awake before he just forces Shadic's hands open. The newborn whimper, as tears formed in his eyes.

Maria nuzzles into Sonic sniffing. "He's only playing...Maria, I'm sorry." Sonic tells his daughter who only buries her face into Sonic, her ears drooping to her head. "Maria..." he said as he was about to pet her head before Shadic just started to cry himself, making the blue hedgehog whimper himself as he just pulls Shadic close to him, cradling him. "Ssh it's okay...I'm here." He tells the newborn.

Maria only pouted, as she had tears in the corner of her eyes, hugging Sonic's arm tightly. It was gonna be along night for the blue hedgehog. It wasn't long before the nurse came into the room. "Well Mister Hedgehog you are free to go, your baby and yourself are healthy." She said with a smile as she walked out of the room.

"Come on Maria you got to let go of my arm..." Sonic tells his daughter. "No!" She hissed, the blue hedgehog only lets out a sigh, he was to tired to deal with this right now, he puts Shadic in the bassinet who only whimpered, squeaking reaching for Sonic. Jazz only gave a frustrated look on her face, the azure hedgehog gets himself off of the bed his legs shaking a little the pain was gone but it felt like he hadn't walked in what felt like years, he just gets himself to stand, grabbing his shoes and slipping them one, with Maria still hanging on his arm, with a pouting face. Shadic watching Sonic, his lip quivering as it he was about to cry, he wasn't ready to be put down yet. "Just a second Shadic...Mommy just needs to get the bag packed." He slides his arm out of Maria's grip who only whimpered. "Maria your a big girl..." Sonic tells her as he opens the door to the bathroom to grab his stuff.

"But...But..." Maria said her own lips quivering. Jazz only covered her ears bracing herself for the two to start crying.

Sonic puts the bag on, turning the light off. He had to make sure that Scourge actually got the crib made or a friend of his that got the crib made. It doesn't matter he just needs to get them home...er...to the apartment on the Ark. Maybe he could see Shadow on his way there. He was snapped out of thought when he heard Shadic crying and Maria a long sigh escapes his lips as he checks on them.

"Maria..." Sonic said as he just pets her head, picking up the newborn in his arms cradling Shadic, patting his back to help calm him down. Maria only whimpers before clinging onto Sonic hip her ears flatten and sniffs. "Come on you two...you know I'm not gonna leave you."

Maria only nuzzles into Sonic, Shadic sniffs whimpering but he was calm. Sonic just started walking Maria following in his footsteps the metal door slides open and the azure hedgehog stepped out into the hallway, making his way down the hallway.

|Inside Shadow's Mind POV|

The ebony hedgehog, was just clinching the necklace that was around his neck, tears staining his muzzle, he hadn't heard anything from the blue hedgehog, and it worries him that made he didn't make it through the birth, but he can sense that his son did.

"That's your Daddy Shadic..."

"Sonic!?"

Shadow couldn't force his body to move to see if it was, but the voice was enough. He sounded upset, why was he upset? He wasn't to tell his husband that he was sorry for not being there for him. Sorry for putting himself into this mess. But his body refuses to move and it just made the ebony hedgehog pin his ears down, he was trapped inside his own mind. Only being able to hear what go on in the side world. He sniffs, but he can feel his son's energy, it was weak only because he was still a baby, but it was going be stronger than his daughters. It was to early to tell at the moment.

"S...Sonic, Maria, Shadic...please...wait for me..."

Shadow said to himself just planting a kiss on the necklace charm, he had never felt this way towards anyone before, except for when he lost his best friend, and having to feel betrayed by a partner of his back on mobius, but this was like torture, he wanted to just hold the azure hedgehog, feel his lips on his own, and see his son instead of just sensing his energy. And his daughter, he wants to hold her as well.

|Third Person POV|

The door slides open and Sonic walks into the room after Maria did, he flips the lights on, Shadic squeaks at the bright light, but he blinks he couldn't see the room that well cause of his eyes being sensitive but he could make it out a little bit.

"Mommy?"

"Not now Maria...Mommy is exhausted." Sonic calmly told his daughter, before he saw that her ears had flatten. He just kisses her head, "Come on, let's get you to bed, tomorrow will be better okay." He smiled to his daughter who's ears perked up and she nodded going off to her room to get into bed. Sonic looks down at Shadic who only looked back at him, he just leaves Jazz in charge of him, when he puts the newborn in the crib the newborn only whimpered, Sonic rubs his chin and lays the Shadow plush next to him. Jazz floated beside the crib to watch over him. Sonic leaves the room after turning the baby monitor on and placing it on the night stand, he trusts that Shadic can get some sleep, while he focused on his older sibling.

Sonic opens the door to Maria's room, and gets into bed with her. "You know, I still love you just same, as Shadic." He tells her. Her ears flatten. "But..." Sonic ruffles her quills and pulls into a hug. "But you need to be that big girl, okay...Shadic is only a newborn and he requires Mommy's attention." Maria hugs Sonic back. "I can try Mommy..." she said to Sonic.

Sonic just plants a kiss on her head, "Sleep tight, you know to get me if you need anything."

Maria nodded. Sonic tucks her into the bed turning the light off and the night light on walking out of the room leaving the door open just a crack, he goes to the bathroom and turns on the lights to see how he looked. His quills were sticking all over the place, and there was some dead quills, he had bags under his eyes and tear stains under his muzzle, he just frowns, he didn't understand why Shadow couldn't come back to him, isn't this enough torture for him, having to deal with the stress of taking care of two kids by himself. He grabs something out the drawer that was under the sink he starts the water to take a shower, now that the kids are sleeping he can have some time alone, for however long it lasted.

Sonic slips on his black shorts that had a white trim, he tighten his belt so that his shorts didn't slip off, he took a look at his at himself after the swell had gone down from him giving birth, the only thing that remind was his wide hips and thick thighs, good thing his shorts were big on him anyways, he looked at the black shirt, he just tosses it to the side, if he was gonna breastfeed Shadic he's was gonna have to ditch the shirt for a while, he just slips up on his red cropped top jacket with a black hood, and a golden zipper a white trim, the only thing showing was his stomach. He does some stretches to make sure his clothes were tight, and they weren't, he slips on his fingerless gloves and socks. He did one last look at himself besides the bags under his eyes he looked better. Opening the door to the bedroom, he was glad to see that Shadic stayed asleep which was a relief he collapsed onto the couch, his ears flatten to his head, he just hugs Shadow's jacket. He missed him a lot. And being separated from him was like torture to the blue hedgehog.
