A/N: Each media I post will connect to the chapters directly (no shit dumbass, what's your point?). So instead of having to open the picture at the "Media", I will post here from now on, so you can see the full image directly! Thank you for your time, now on to the story~~

Lana and Ciara prepared for the day ahead of them and drove to the legion hall. By the time they arrived, Lincoln, Dawn and Ash were already there. Dawn and Ash were chatting and fooling around as they normally do. Lincoln was reading a book, seated on the sofa. Noticing the siblings enter, they all lifted their head.

"Good morning," Lana said with excitement in her voice.

"Morning, kiddo. Slept well?" Dawn replied.

"Yes!" Lana said with a grin on her face.

"Then you must be ready for training, but I expect you to pay today," Ash walked up to her.

Lana clicked her tongue at his comment, "Yeah, whatever, cheapskate."

The room filled with laughter. It was a bright morning, full of adventures ahead. Lana and Ash headed off to train, like usual. Dawn had to compose more music for battle, so she left, leaving Ciara and Lincoln. With nothing needed to be taken care of, the two decided to roam the market.

The sky was clear, and the sun shining in its full glory. The street full of citizens, heading to their destinations. Some stopping by the vendors to look at merchandise, others in a hurry to get their appointments. Bargains could be heard between merchants and costumers, costumers asking to lower the price, while merchants tried to make a profit. A few vendors, calling out to those passing by, hoping to sell their product.

"Young Miss, I have the perfect hairpin for you. This is an antique, but for you, I will lower the price 10%, this was made for you."

Ciara and Lincoln walked past the crowd, observing the lively environment. Walking past the vendors selling beauty accessories, Ciara thought about her sister. She wanted to get her sister a small gift, for it had been a while since they enjoyed going outside together. It pained her to see her sister give up everything she used to love doing such as hanging out with her friends. She wanted to provide a life for Lana where she would have no worries and could roam the streets carefree, but Lana had made it clear she wanted to do what her sister did. Now all of Lana's focus was on getting stronger and being a capable warrior.

Grabbing Lincoln's arm, Ciara dragged him to a merchant that had many pieces of jewellery laid out on a table. She carefully looked at each item on display, thinking about what would be suitable for Lana.

"Hmm, Lincoln, which one should I buy for Lana? Help me pick," she asked while scratching her head.

"You are the sister, and you expect me to know?"

Ciara hummed, picking up a green ring, and examining it thoroughly. She shook her head and put the ring down.

"Uncle, do you have anything else for sale?" She asked the merchant.

The merchant pulled out a few boxes from under the table, and opened each one, revealing jewels made of precious stones.

"These are my most valuable goods, take a look, miss."

Ciara looked at each box, some holding bracelets made of beads, pearl necklaces, and other ornaments. Out of all of them, Ciara felt most drawn to a pair of earrings. Green earrings, with the shape of a lotus. She picked it up and gently touching the gem.

"Jade lotus. Excellent choice. It is a pure gem. The jade symbolising purity and harmony, while the lotus symbolises enlightenment, rebirth. The lotus can grow, even when the conditions that surround it are harsh, it remains pure, untouched by its surrounding."

"How much for it uncle?" She asked, grabbing her pouch.

"50 silver coins."

"50?!" Lincoln exclaimed. Pulling Ciara aside, he whispered in her ear, "You are getting played."

Ciara chuckled at his reaction. Reverting her attention to the merchant, she opened her pouch.

"You must be crazy," Lincoln huffed.

Ciara paid for the earrings and put it inside her pouch.

"Miss, why don't you get something for yourself as well? I have plenty of items you can choose from."

Ciara politely rejected his offer, and they were on their way.

"Why don't you get something for yourself as well? We are already out here. Are you broke? Do you want big brother to buy something for you?" Lincoln asked, wrapping his arm around her shoulder.

Ciara looked at him, weirded out by his comment. He was barely a year older than she was, and when it came to money, it was not a problem she was concerned about.

"What are you saying, you know I don't wear jewellery," she replied, pushing his arm away.

"Then get something else. Why don't you try buying a hairpin?" He said, playing with her silky black hair.

"I'm not interested."

"Yes, yes," he sighed.

The smell of roasted sweet potatoes captured Ciara's attention.

"Hey, let's go buy some sweet potatoes," she pointed towards the street vendor. Before Lincoln had a chance to reply to her, she was already making her way through the crowd heading towards the vendor. He chuckled at her, and instead of following her, he headed towards another merchant.

"Uncle, two roasted sweet potatoes," Ciara asked, giving the man 2 copper coins.

She grabbed the warm potatoes and turned around to notice that Lincoln was no longer beside her. Scanning the area, she saw him a little further away, chatting with a merchant. She walked towards him, blowing into her hands.

"What are you doing?" She asked, getting closer to him.

He swiftly turned around with a gentle smile on his face, putting something away inside his garment. "Hmm," he hummed.

She handed him an uneaten potato. "Why are you looking at women's accessories?" Biting into her food, she opened her mouth to blow out the steam.

"Thought that maybe I should change my style up a bit. Don't you think I would look cute with a bit of lipstick?" He joked, making Ciara choke on her food.

"Stop saying weird s**t," she tapped his arm.

They wandered around for a while longer before heading into a local restaurant due to starvation. They walked inside a small inn. The smell of roasted meat and noodles imminently filled their smell receptors. Ciara closed her eyes and inhaled the heavenly smell. They walked to an open seating area, next to a bamboo window. Putting their weapons down, they sat on the mat laid out on the wood floor. Ciara looked around the inn. People were eating and having small conversations.

Although people were conversing, it wasn't loud. It may have been a public setting, but people were focused on their tasks, paying no attention to discussions that do not concern them. During their wait, a server brought them a kettle of warm tea and two small cups, taking their order.

"A bowl of rice noodles with beef broth," Ciara ordered.

"One bowl of kombu for me," Lincoln smiled at the server.

Soon after, Ciara had devoured 3 bowls of noodle, while Lincoln was on his second. When it came to eating, no one could beat the siblings, Lana and Ciara could eat almost anything. Though they could eat, Ciara had gone overboard, making her immobile for the time being.

Lincoln sighed, rubbing his temples, "Who told you to eat so much?"

"It was so good, I couldn't stop myself," she whined.

Their conversation came to a halt when a fortune teller grabbed Ciara's attention. Seated right outside the inn, the old man was reading palms of costumers. She listened in on his comments about people.

"You have substantial fortune ahead of you. You will find a beautiful wife and brilliant children. I see stability in your future."

The fortune-teller intrigued Ciara. Although she never believed in such scams, it was interesting to listen to.

"Lincoln, let's go over there," she pointed towards the man outside the window.

"Huh? Wasting your money again? I don't believe in such crap," he said, giving her a look of disapproval.

"It will be fun, trust me," grabbing her weapon from her side, she got up.

Lincoln followed, leaving silver coins on the table to pay for their meal. They waited in line for about a couple of minutes. Lincoln sat down and extended his arm.

"What would you like me to focus on, junior master?"

Lincoln looked at Ciara, for he had no interest nor belief in such things as fortune-telling.

"Mister, let's focus on his marriage. When will he find a wife?" Ciara chimed in.

The man looked at Lincoln's eyes for what felt like forever.

"Callow lad, if you are not married by now, you are never finding a wife," he finally said. The comment made Ciara burst out laughing. She pointed her finger towards Lincoln, holding her stomach with one hand.

"I think I believe in fortune-telling now."

"You are laughing too much," he said, poking her stomach.

"I will vomit," she said, putting her hand on her mouth. All the food she ate threatened to come out because of the pressure on her stomach.

Ciara sat down on the chair, extending out her palm. The man grabbed her palm and brought it closer to him. His head nodding as he looked at her palm. His eyes narrowed as he examined it more.

Looking up at her with a frowned expression, he said, "A great tragedy awaits you. Your past life has come back to haunt you. It will draw you in, but you push back. Resist you must, but in doing so, you will lose your loved ones. It has sealed your fate. The moment you hold on to the past, your future escapes you."

Rubbing her neck, Ciara tilted her head. She let out a slight laugh and politely answered, "Mister, you must be mistaken. I don't believe in past lives. Nevertheless, I enjoyed your comments. Have a pleasant day." The man shook his head and glanced at her with a pained expression.

"You may think so now, but soon it will all change."

Paying the old man, Ciara and Lincoln walked away from the crowd, making their way towards a hill seeking serenity. They walked along the rocky path. The trees swayed with the wind as the birds sang their tunes. Butterflies were dancing around a sunflower celebrating the weather. Reaching the top of the hill, they took a seat on a flight of stairs. They watched as the sun threatened to sink behind the horizon, casting rays of reds and oranges on the clouds.

They talked about countless things, and yet they never ran out of topics to talk about. An example being, if Lincoln never finds a wife, his plan was to shave his head and become a monk.

While the sunflowers' said their goodbyes to the sun, they too made their departure.

Hello there, my precious readers. I hope you are doing better than I am. I apologise for this pathetic excuse of a chapter; I have been a zombie all week, and not because of playing games this time. I had a minor surgery, so I'm still recovering, but I didn't want to disappoint you again, so I hope this makes up a teeny-tiny bit.

I appreciate you all making it this far and not giving up on me. Every read, comment and vote means so much to me. Thank you for supporting me!

I am sure you guys are tired of all this story-building and are ready for some action and honestly me too! Starting the next chapter, I will incorporate more and more action, and the pacing will speed up because I don't want to drag out the story unnecessarily. And yes, Zero will appear more from now on. There has been little to no insight into the characters' inner thoughts and that will slowly change. I'm certain you all have noticed by now that there are two MC's, and this will remain the case throughout.

I enjoy reading all the comments you guys leave me, so feel free to spam me. In fact, I encourage it. (If any of you play games like PUBG, FORTNITE, CYBER HUNTER, CoD, etc.. [any Battle Royale Game] what is your favourite weapon of choice?)
