A Plan of Attack

Few Weeks Later...

It was a few weeks after Jregon invaded Elaria and stole the Dragon Blood power, and to my surprise, everyone was acting normal, like nothing ever happened. But I know that the Elarian people miss their power. For centuries, the Dragon Blood power is what made Elaria, Elaria.

I'm not a Dragon Blood, but I know how much the Dragon Blood power means to Elaria, and I want to do everything that I can to help.

Right now, I'm in school, walking down the hallway to my locker. Then, someone tapped me on my shoulder. I turned around and saw that it was my science teacher, Ms. Opal.

"Hi Ms. Opal. What do you need?" I asked.

"Principal Abigail would like to see you." she said.

I nodded and started to gather my things. I started to walk the opposite way down the hall to Principal Abigail's office. I made it to her office and knocked on her door.

"Come in." she said.

I opened the door and shut it behind me. In front of me I saw Principal Abigail putting away files.

"Ms. Abigail?" I asked.

She turned around and gave a small smile.

"Hello Giselle. Sorry to call you on such short notice," she said.

"It's okay. What did you want me for?"

"To talk about the rumors that have been going around."

"Oh... that..."

I slumped down in a chair next to me and placed my hands on my face.

"Do you know who started them?" she asked in a calming voice.

"The Chaotics," I said, looking up at her.

"I see. Just say yes or no if the rumors I say are true, okay?"

"Okay."

"The head of the Dragon Rangers, Silas, is your older brother."

"Yes."

"I knew that one, I was just making sure. Okay. Next rumor. You are a Dragon Ranger."

"Yes. Silas trained me to be one."

"I see. Impressive. Okay, final one. Your dragon is a Corrin Atlas."

"Yes. I met Vincent on my final mission to become a Dragon Ranger."

Principal Abigail's eyes widened.

"So... all the rumors are true?" she asked.

"Yes ma'am..." I said.

"I see... Another question. How do you feel?"

"If you're talking about the invasion, I'm fine, but between you and me, my power didn't get drained. I'm not a Dragon Blood so Drake wouldn't have drained nothing except..."

"Except what?"

"I have a special ability that allows me to talk to dragons. No one knows this except you. I think Silas knows, but I'm not sure."

"I see. Look, I'm sorry this is happening. I will do everything in my power to stop the rumors. And your special ability, you're secret is safe with me."

"Thank you Ms. Abigail."

"Anytime."

I got up and headed towards the door.

"Giselle," Ms. Abigail called out.

"Yes?" I said turning around.

"If those Chaotic boys bother you again, come to me. I'll deal with them."

I smiled and nodded. I opened the door and walked out. I walked down the hallway to the staircase to go to my next class. I have Dragonology at this time. Dragonology is basically the study of dragons. As I was walking, someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around and saw Orion.

"Hey Orion," I said.

"Hey Giselle. Where you going?" he asked.

"Dragonology."

"Ah, I see."

"Hey Orion?"

"Yeah, what's up?"

"How do you... feel?"

"What do you mean?"

"You know, after the invasion. Remember? Everyone was drained of the Dragon Blood power. I just want to know how you're holding up."

"I'm fine. I'm guessing your power got drained, too?"

"No. I hid with Vincent in an alley. He protected me and Prismarine throughout the invasion. Onyx Drake wouldn't have gotten anything out of me. Remember, I'm not a Dragon Blood."

"Yeah... well, there's nothing we can do to get it back."

He sighed sadly and kept looking forward. A grim expression ran across my face and my eyes turned to the ground.

I wish there was something I can do, but who would listen to a No Blood like me? No would join me into getting the Dragon Blood power back, except the Dragon Rangers and my dragon friends. They wouldn't be enough to fight against a whole world army, and its ruler. What can I do?

Orion and I waved goodbye and went our separate ways. Then, my com bracelet started ringing. I pressed on it and Silas' voice came through.

"Hey Giselle."

"Hey Silas. What do you need?" I asked.

"We need you at Dragon Ranger HQ."

"For what?"

"We want you to formulate a plan. We want you to formulate an invasion."

"A WHAT!?"

"You heard me. I already talked to Principal Abigail about it and she approved. The invasion, of course, is on Jregon, to take back the Dragon Blood. Think you can handle it?"

"Uh... I can try. I mean, I'm still kind of new to this."

"This afternoon, we asked everyone to meet in Town Square, and then, you'll tell everyone about your plan."

"But who's going to listen to a No Blood like me?"

"We're all No Bloods GG. You're not the only one. They'll listen, trust me."

"Okay, see you in a few."

I hung up and ran back down the stairs. I also noticed that some students were listening to our conversation, but I didn't care. I ran down the hallway to the exit. Then, I stopped to put everything in my locker. I continued running, until I abruptly stopped, because who was blocking the exit?

You guessed it... The Chaotics...

"Step aside, Cody," I said firmly.

"Why should we?" he asked.

"I'm kind of in a hurry to-"

"To what? A Dragon Ranger mission? Yeah right. You're just trying to skip school."

"Guys, I'm serious. Silas and the others are waiting for me."

"Yeah, sure they are."

Dang it Cody!

"Fine, have it your way." I said.

I looked back at the other students who were watching us.

Perfect.

"Move Cody," I said in a demanding voice.

"Ooh, the big bad Dragon Ranger is giving us orders. How cute," he said.

"Alright... didn't want to do this to you."

"Do what?"

I smiled and walked in front of Cody. We were now standing face to face. I winked, and kneed him in his crotch. He broke down in two seconds flat. I looked at the other four boys, and they were paralyzed with fear. I could hear the laughter of the other kids around us, and I chuckled. The boys stepped to the side to let me through.

"Thank you." I said.

I stepped over Cody and walked out the door. I whistled and heard a roar from above. I looked up, and saw Vincent, disguised as an Arctic Sun. I walked up to him and stroked his snout.

"Thanks for coming, Vince." I said.

Vincent purred.

"Anytime."

I hopped on him, and looked back. The other kids were staring right at me. I rolled my eyes and looked ahead.

"Dragon Ranger HQ, Vince." I said.

He nodded and flew off to HQ. We soon landed on the landing dock and I got off. When I got off, Vincent turned back to his normal self. I told him to stay as I went inside. When I went inside, the place looked deserted. No one was here. I looked through the conference room window, and saw all the Dragon Rangers there. I walked inside, and all of their attentions turned to me. They then started greeting me. I smiled and walked to where Silas was standing. He smile and wrapped his arm around me.

"What took you so long?" he whispered.

"Kind of ran into a little trouble on the way out. I'll tell you later." I whispered back.

He nodded in understanding and turned his attention back to the other Dragon Rangers.

"Alright everyone. For this mission, my sister will be formulating the plan." he said.

Everyone applauded. Silas stepped back and showed me the map of Jregon. In the center of it was Jregon Castle.

"So Giselle. What do you propose we do?" Silas said.

I looked at everyone and took a deep breath.

"If I'm correct, Jregon Castle is crawling with guards, even in the air. So what I think we should do is take out the guards in the air first," I said.

"Why?" asked Bruce.

"Because if we take out the guards on the ground first, the ones in the air will surely see us. So the citizens with Dark and/or Chaotic dragons will be perfect for the job. The darkness will be their cover."

"What about the ones on the ground?" Malachi asked.

"The ones in the air will give us a signal to take them out. For that part, it doesn't matter what dragon the citizens have, they just need to take them out."

"Will there be Dragon Rangers with the citizens during those times?" Valerie asked.

"Yes. If I'm correct, there are a good amount guards in the air. What I propose we do is even out the playing field. On the ground, the guards are crawling everywhere, too many for me to count. There are two strong guards posted in front of the castle. Once we go after them, the others will come. That's when everyone comes out to fight. The citizens and Dragon Rangers will be buying my group some time."

"And who is your group?" Silas asked.

"You, Malachi, Valerie, Bruce, Elias, Tessa, and Rachel. We're going to storm the castle, take out the guards, take out Onyx Drake, and take back the Dragon Blood power!"

Everyone cheered and applauded.

"That was very impressive, Giselle. You even did better than I ever could," Silas said.

"Thanks Si. To be honest, I was really nervous. I didn't think I'd be able to pull it off," I said.

"Think you can do it again this afternoon?"

"Only one way to find out."

Silas smiled and ruffled my hair.

"So, am I going back to school or no?" I asked.

"If you want to," Silas said.

"Okay... can I go back to school Silas?"

"Of course you can."

I waved goodbye and walked out the door. I walked on the landing dock where Vincent was waiting.

"Sorry to keep you waiting for so long, Vincent." I said.

Vincent groaned.

"Not at all."

I hopped on him and looked to the sky. I then started daydreaming about how my speech was going to go. Vincent's roar snapped me back to reality.

"Everything alright, Giselle?"

"Oh, yeah. Everything's fine," I said.

"Okay... so where would you like to go?"

"Back to my school."

Vincent took to the skies and flew back to Elaria High. When we landed, Vincent disguised as an Ice dragon. I got off him and stroked his snout.

"Thanks for the ride." I said.

Vincent smiled and winked at me. He took to the skies and flew off. I turned on my heel and walked in the school. I looked up at the clock, and it read 12:00.

Three hours of school left. After that, everyone is going to Town Square to hear my speech. I'm so nervous...

I opened my locker to gather my things, that's when the bell rang. The hallways started filling up with kids. I closed my locker and walked to my class. In my head I was reciting my speech over until I mastered it.

I probably should write it down sooner or later so I don't forget.

I was so caught up with my speech that I didn't even realize that I was at my next class.

Well, it's not really a class, but more like a club. I'm in Student Council. I was announced President, but I passed the baton to the girl who was runner up: Daphne. I'm Vice President, and I feel so bad for missing a meeting.

I walked in and saw all of the Student Council: President Daphne, Treasurer Nolan, Secretary Ruby, and the rest of the Student Council.

"Sorry I'm late, everyone," I said.

"Don't sweat it, Giselle. Come and sit. We have a great idea for our next fundraiser." Nolan said.

"I've gotta hear this."

And so our meeting went like clockwork. Basically for the fundraiser, they were planning on having a Dragon Egg Giveaway, or DEGA for short. We'd open up the school courtyard for everyone in town, and it would be like a small fair. Games, food, shows, you name it. Then at the end, we'll be doing a raffle, and giving away dragon eggs. The money we raise will go to the Elaria Orphanage.

I went on to my other classes, and when school was over, I ran out the school door and ran to Dragon Ranger HQ. Then, I heard a roar next to me. I looked to the side, and saw Vincent, but disguised as Forest Frost. I nodded and jumped up. I landed on his back and he flew the rest of the way to HQ. Vincent landed on the landing dock and I got off. I took of my shirt and pants, and underneath was my uniform. I pulled out the Dragon Ranger emblem and put it on. I waited for my brother and the others to walk out. Few minutes later, they did.

"You're here early." Silas said.

"And you guys are fashionably late." I teasingly said.

Silas smiled and ruffled my hair. He walked up to Vincent, who was now his normal self, and stroked his snout. Vincent purred at the touch.

"So, you ready to go?" Silas asked, looking back at me.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but... I'm ready. I want to do everything I can do to help Elaria." I said.

Silas smiled and walked up to me. He placed his hand on my shoulder and sighed.

"Mom and Dad would be so proud of you..." he said.

I smiled and embraced him tightly. Silas hugged me back and kissed my hair. When we parted, this time, I wiped the tears in his eyes, and then smiled boldly at him.

"We can do this. We're the Griffin Siblings, and we can do anything, Si... But only if the oldest is willing to help the youngest." I said, holding out my hand.

Silas smiled and gladly took my hand.

"Hey Silas. Want to ride to Town Square on Vincent?" I asked.

"Sure, I'd love to." he replied.

I hopped on Vincent, and Silas hopped behind me.

"Town Square, Vincent." I said.

Vincent took to the skies and flew to Town Square with the rest of the Dragon Rangers following. When we landed, Vincent disguised as a Water Crystal. As the other Dragon Rangers started landing as well, we saw a crowd of people coming our way. Silas and I got off Vincent and watched as the crowd approached. Then, Silas put a hand on my shoulder.

"You ready?" he asked.

"Ready as I'll ever be." I said.

Silas smiled and went to greet the crowd. When he left, my heart started racing.

I'm so not ready for this. Talking in front of all the Dragon Rangers is one thing, but talking in front of a whole community... I can't...

Vincent noticed my anxiety, and rested his head on my shoulder. I jumped a little at the sudden touch, but then calmed down. He rubbed his cheek against mine, and purred.

"You've got this Giselle. I'll be right here. You don't have to be nervous, you're helping to save your world, and I'll be right here to support you every step of the way."

I hugged Vincent's head, and he licked my cheek. He stepped back and gestured me to look ahead. I did so, and saw the crowd of people looking at me. I immediately froze up. Silas stepped in front of me and protested.

"People of Elaria. Thank you all for coming. The Dragon Rangers and I have decided to invade Jregon, and take back the Dragon Blood power. And this wonderful plan was formulated by our new recruit, my sister, Giselle." he said.

A round of applause stirred up. Silas looked back at me and gave a reassuring smile and nod. I smiled at him, but not nervously, but boldly. I stepped in front of him until I was facing the crowd. I took a deep breath, and began to speak.

"People of Elaria. I am Giselle, a No Blood, like you. I know what it feels like to be powerless, but if we stick to the plan, we won't be powerless for long." I said.

"Why should we listen to you?" I heard Cody say.

Vincent walked next to me and growled.

"Show them your true form, Vincent." I said.

In an instant, Vincent's scales turned white, the underside of his wings turned navy, and his eyes turned dark blue. Everyone gasped.

"This is my dragon, Vincent. He is the last Corrin Atlas dragon here on Elaria." I said.

Everyone started mumbling.

"Please, join me! I know that if we work together, we can take back what is rightfully ours, but only if you will join me!" I said.

Everything was silent. Then, I saw an old man walk up.

"I will join you." he said.

"So will I." said a lady.

"Count me in." said a kid.

One by one, people started volunteering. My classmates, my friends, and my teachers joined as well. I looked Cody's way, and smiled. He averted my gaze. Then, one of his friends stepped up.

"I'll join you, Giselle." he said.

"So will we." said the other three boys.

I smiled contently at the boys, and looked back at Cody. He looked at me and gave me a small smile.

"Fine, I'll join you. Us No Bloods have to stick together." he said.

As I smiled from ear to ear, I heard loud roars from above, and they said the same thing at once.

"We'll join you on your conquest as well!"

I looked up, and almost burst into tears. There in they sky were the wild dragons that I befriended on my past missions: Venom, Venus, Whiteout, Glimmer Sea, Riptide, Sonata, Eclipse, Lilith, Skylar, and Falcon. The crowd stepped back, and my dragon friends landed.

"These are some of my friends that I've met on my past missions to become a Dragon Ranger. They'll help us in any way possible." I said.

"So what's this amazing plan of yours?" asked a girl my age.

"For those who have Dark and/or Chaotic dragons, please step forward. You will be our eyes in the skies. You guys will take out the Jregonian guards in the air. The darkness will be your cover."

A couple of people stepped up.

"You guys will be with some of our Dragon Rangers that have Dark and/or Chaotic dragons as well. They will give the rest of us a signal to move forward. For this part, it doesn't matter what type of dragon you have, we just need to take out the guards on the ground. We need you guys to buy us time for my group and I to get in the castle to take out Onyx Drake. Can I count on you guys?" I asked.

"YES!" the crowd said.

"Now, let's go take back what was rightfully ours!"

The crowd cheered and the dragons roared. The crowd whistled for their dragons, and the skies filled with every type of dragon. I mounted Vincent and he roared. My dragon friends and the Dragon Rangers walked up next to me. The citizens of Elaria walked behind us and waited for my signal. I turned back to them and smiled.

"For Elaria!" I cried.

"FOR ELARIA!" the crowd cried.

The dragons roared, and we all took off at once, storming off to Jregon.

When it comes to Elaria, I'll lay my life down for it. Elaria is my home, and I want to do everything I can do to help... whatever it takes!
