Ezra's P.O.V

Was it a rich person? Was it Copper trying to find us? I didn't know. I got a better look at the boot and saw.....

   No way. There on the person's boot WAS THE REBEL BIRD! Was that a rebel? I didn't know and I didn't want to find out so I stayed hidden in the bush quietly. "Commander, the rich people are wondering the forest and we think they are searching for the key," The guy with the boot said. "Make sure you find that key before the wealthy does or else this war may end in the wrong terms," I heard someone else say but it sounded like it was coming from a communicator.

   "Yes Commander," the guy with the boot said. I heard the guy sigh and walked away. Once I thought he was far away, I relaxed and started to think about the conversation. What was the key? What would the rich want with the key? What was so special about this key that it could change the war into the wrong terms?

Sleep started to get to me and I decided to close my eyes. I soon fell into a peace slumber.

*The next day*

   My eyes fluttered open and there was a strange taste in my mouth. I reached into my mouth and found a leaf. I threw the leaf aside and crawled out of the bush to find the other three eating breakfast without me. "Wow, you must of been tired," Sabine said eating a berry.

   "Yeah," I said and sat next to Kanan. He handed me a bowl of fruits and I nodded smiling, to thank him. I started to eat and looked at everyone. Sabine seemed really hyper and Kanan seemed like his calm self. Then there was Hera, who was strangely being quiet. Seriously, the woman could talk for hours and would usually greet me when I wake up. I guess she is still said with the loss of her friend or brother.

   "What we d-doing?" I asked Kanan. "We need to stay in the shadows and find a path quickly to a town," Kanan said. I wondered how we were going to find a place at this pace and with all the obstacles of rich people, nature and that guy last night. How are we going to get anywhere with all of them in the forest? How are we even going to find a way out?

   I was brought out of my train of thought when something landed on my head. I looked up at all the pretty leaves in the trees. Wait, the trees! We could climb them and see which direction to go! I tugged on Kanan's shirt sleeve and had his attention. "What?" He asked and I smiled, pointing up. "Trees!" I said making everyone confused. "Yeah, those are trees," Sabine said not seeing why I said trees.

I shook my head no and said, "Trees help us see, d-direction going," I explained. They all seemed to get what I was trying to explain now. "Ooo, I'll climb it!" Sabine said eagerly and ran to a tree, climbing it. She disappeared into the colorful leaves to look to find a path. "Good idea, Ezra," Hera said. For the first time since last night, she gave me a warm smile. I smiled back with a wave of proudness washing over me.

"I think I see a town a couple miles in the direction," Sabine said pointing South. "Good job, Sabine," Kanan said and we all stood up. Sabine climbed down the tree and we headed in the direction. I could tell that everyone was hesitant and kept looking through the trees for any signs of danger. I had the same feeling and kept glancing into the trees and bushes, ready for anything to pop out.

That's when I noticed that it was disturbingly quite. The only sound heard was the crunching of leaves and sticks under our feet. There was no wind or even animals. 'Something doesn't seem right,' I thought. It was like we were walking right into a middle of a trap or something was watching or coming for us. I gulped at the memory of Zeb pouncing at me yesterday and him finding us, doing the same thing to me.

I jumped a little when I heard a loud snap and turned to see Sabine nervously scratching the back of her head. "Sorry," she whispered then we kept going with the eerie feeling from around us. Something was seriously wrong.

We walked for a couple more minutes and stopped. Sabine climbed the tree again to see if we were still heading in the right direction. "We are still good," Sabine said climbing back down the tree. "Ok, let's keep mov- AAHH!" Hera was saying something but suddenly screamed when a wealthy person jumped her.

Me and Kanan ripped the person off but we were to late when Sabine was held in a tight grip of a different rich person. "Sab!" I yelled but the rich person ran off with her screaming for help. The three of us ran after the person but more of the rich came out of no where and blocked our way. "There's to many!" Hera yelled. The rich surrounded us and looked ready to attack.

"Go! Go! Go!" We heard a voice yell. Then a whole bunch of different people jumped out of the trees and attacked the rich. They used weird electronic things to knock out the rich. "Are you alright?" one of them came up to us and asked. "Yes, thank you," Kanan said. "But what about, Sabine?" Hera asked. "Don't worry, we ambushed that guy and got her back," the guy said.

I looked down at the boot and found that it looked exactly like the one I saw last night. "Who are you?" I asked looking at the other people watching the fainted bodies on the ground. They all were wearing masks so we couldn't really see their faces. The guy in front of us took his mask off and smiled at us.

"We are the rebels," he said. He had dark skin and a bald head but a beard lingered from the bottom of his nose and down. "My name is Captain Rex," the guy that looked like he should be in a retiring home said. I looked over at Kanan, who seemed to not like Rex. I wonder why? Then some other rebels brought Sabine back to us through the crowd. Hera gave her a big hug and so did I.

   "Come on, let's not wake up the money," Rex said gesturing to the rich laying on the ground. We all followed but Kanan seemed to hesitate on following Rex. Does Kanan know who Rex is? I decided not to ask but let him answer on his own time. Besides, this Captain just pretty much saved us from whatever the rich was going to do. I surely didn't want to find out what they were going to do.

   We all boarded into different cars with no ceilings and took off into a direction. I didn't know what was happening, it was all so fast. I should say we though cause we didn't know where we were going or being taken too. For all I knew, we could be turned into the Empire but I had a feeling to trust these people. I have a feeling that things are going to change.
