Ezra's P.O.V

"Do you trust us?" Those same words kept ringing in my ears over and over again. I didn't know if I did trust them. Sure, they saved us from that huge mob of rich but they let the wealthy kidnap Hera and Kanan. The rebels helped save Kanan, even if he's in a coma but alive, I think. Yet, how long will he last? The rebels have been keeping secrets from us and we probably don't know half of them. But do I really trust them?

I looked up when I realized I didn't say anything after Rex asked that question. "Look kid, I know it's hard to trust someone you only met like three weeks ago, I know the feeling," Rex said, "Ahsoka helped me when no one else did cause they thought of me as a monster but things have changed and the rebellion is so close to ending this war."

"But why do you need his trust?" Sabine asked, "You all have been keeping secrets from us and now you're telling us that we have to trust you?" The jeep ride went silent for a moment until Ahsoka spoke up. "What do you want to know?" She asked. Out of all the questions Sabine had, she said the most important one. "Why do you need his trust?" She asked.

"This is going to be hard to explain," Rex muttered then sighed, "Ezra, Sabine. I knew your parents." Me and Sabine's eyes widen at this. "Wait what?!" I said in disbelief. "I was friends with them back in the war, I supported their messages of standing against the Empire even if we were at war with the wealthy," Rex said, "Both of your parents saw something that one else did. Even if they were poor, they knew how equal both sides were and they had something no one else had at that time."

I was in tears and I felt Sabine squeeze my hand for support. "What....was....it?" I asked. I saw Rex smile with care in his eyes, "They had hope that both sides will stop fighting and forget their differences." I felt a pang in my heart then I buried my face into Sabine's shoulder. She pulled me into her arms and rubbed my back while whispering comforting words into my ear.

"Now the reason that I need your trust is that your parents knew somehow that the clones were going to be controlled," Rex said, "They just didn't know when so they put all their information in a single little chip on how to defeat the Empire. We call it the Key." I calmed down enough and wiped my eyes. "I d-don't know.....where Key is," I said and they probably already knew that Sabine had no clue either.

    "Don't worry we know where the Key is," Rex said. I raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Then why do you need our trust in getting the chip or Key or whatever you call it?" Sabine asked. "Because the Key isn't a thing," Rex said, "The chip was contained in something or someone and we found out that it was-" he paused for a second. "Who?!" Me and Sabine yelled.

   "We think it's Ezra," Ahsoka said calmly. I was take back by this. "When you were young, your parents had to quickly hide there information somewhere that no one would think so they thought to implant it into someone," she explained, "I'm guessing Sabine wasn't there so there only option was to do surgery on you Ezra to hide the info."

   Was that why the rich were after us that whole time in the woods? Was I the threat to my family and these rebels the whole time? Am I the cause of this war? All because I had some information implanted into my head without even knowing. Could I really end the war and feud between the rich and what's left of the poor?

   I started to breath hard from all of this pressure that has just been laid on my shoulders. "Ezra, calm down," I heard Ahsoka say, "You're hyperventilating, you need to calm down." Sabine rubbed my back again and whispered comforting words again. I soon calmed down and my breathing became even. "We're sorry we had to say all of this at once," Rex said with sorrow, "We should have told you sooner."

   "H-how do....you know if t-there is chip I-n my head?" I asked. "Your parents told me it but they never told me that I was going to do when I attacked innocent people," Rex said, "I'm really sorry." "Thanks for telling us," Sabine said. "We should have told you sooner or maybe this would have never of happened," Rex said.

   "Hey Rex," I said getting his attention. "Yeah?" He asked. "I trust you," I said. "Thank you so much Ezra," Ahsoka said bringing me out of Sabine's hugs into hers. I still had a question off the top of my head that seemed like it wouldn't go away. Is Hera and Kanan ok?
