Mynx ducked and dragged Annabeth down with her, 

"There are too many!"

Thalia glanced back at her, 

"Luke! Grab Grover! Take them and run! Run as fast as you can until you are all at camp!"

Luke shook his head, 

"What about you?!"

Thalia smirked, 

"I'll hold them off,"

Mynx shook her head, 

"What? No! Thals come on! We are almost there!"

Thalia shoved the younger girl,

"RUN!"

Mynx growled but helped Annabeth back up and helped Luke carry their unconscious Satyr friend, Grover. Mynx turned back when they were on the hill and frowned as she saw Thalia taking on the swarm of monsters. Luke put his hand on her shoulder, 

"Come on!"

Mynx turned away and kept running with her friends until they got to a hill and started running down it until Mynx felt a pull at her gut. She turned around and saw Thalia on the floor panting. Mynx glanced at Luke, Annabeth, and the passed-out Grover before running toward Thalia, 

"MYNX!!!!"

Mynx ran faster toward Thalia, 

"THALIA! NO!"

Thalia glanced over to Mynx, 

"I'm sorry, Mynx,"

Lightning struck down, and when Mynx opened her eyes again, there was a tree where Thalia once stood, 

"NO!!!!!!"

Mynx fell to her knees as thunder roared at her scream. Luke ran up to Mynx and pulled her into a hug, 

"She's gone,"

Mynx shook her head as the tears fell, 

"No! SHES NOT GONE!"

Luke shook his head, 

"Mynx...She is gone,"

Mynx stood up and looked at the tree. She glared at it and was about to walk toward it but felt a hand pull her back. She turned to see Annabeth's sad eyes and she sighed, 

"Fine."

Annabeth sighed, 

"Come on,"

They heard trotting and looked to see a centaur running toward them, 

"Are all of you okay?"

Mynx just hardened her stare at him and Luke crossed his arms, 

"We lost Thalia. She was the daughter of Zeus...and the monsters were after her more...she made us run here and she sacrificed herself,"

The centaur sighed, 

"Yes, she did...come, let me tell you about this place, and we must get Grover to see the medics,"

Mynx sat down in front of the fire. She felt someone sit down next to her and glanced over to see Annabeth looking into the fire too.

"Annabeth?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you think she is at peace?"

Annabeth looked at Mynx and sighed, 

"I really hope so,"

"I think I know who my parent is,"

Annabeth stood up, 

"Who?"

Mynx sighed and slowly stood up too,

"Thals said that she had a suspicion...I think my father is...Zeus,"

Lightning struck the fireplace and Annabeth gasped, 

"Mynx,"

Mynx looked up and saw a lightning symbol above her head. Chiron nodded his head, 

"All hail! Mynx Wilson, Daughter of Zeus!"

Mynx frowned but said nothing as everyone bowed. She opened the door to her cabin and sighed, 

"Well...I guess this is it,"

She entered the cabin and sat down, 

"Father...why was Thalia the one to die? It should have been me,"

When she got no response, she simply laid down and fell asleep.
