Annabeth Chase: Percabeth takes a Vacation
"So where are you from?" she asked before sitting down on a recliner by Semour, the Cheetah head.
"Texas," Stell replied, looking down to the ground.
Annabeth narrowed her eyes. She knew Stella was lying. The girl was hiding something. She laughed at how nervous the girl was, "Oh, come on. How stupid do you think I am? You don't even have a southern accent."
Stella sighed, leaning back in her chair. "You got me, unless...What'd ya mean? 'Course I'm a from Texas. I am!" she teased. "There? Satisfied?"
Annabeth giggled slightly, "Okay, if you aren't from Texas, where are you from?"
Stella immediately looked down with a scowl, "I don't want to talk about it."
Annabeth raised her eyebrow, "Okay. Could you at least tell me what's up with the name?"
Stella started choking on imaginary food, "E-excuse me?"
Annabeth rolled her eyes. How stupid did this girl think she was? "I speak Latin. Noctis Stella. It means 'the Star of Night.' What is up with that?" Annabeth didn't say it, but all she could hear was Ella's voice: By the fate of the Star of Night. The last line of the prophecy. It meant something. It all meant something. She tried figure out what, but it was like trying to put together a puzzle with missing pieces.
Stella shrugged, "I gave it to myself."
"You made your own name?" she asked.
Stella frowned, "I'm an orphan...well, I thought I was."
Annabeth sat up from her seat. Semour growled, but was satisfied when she threw him a Cheeto. Stella had something to do with the prophecy. She knew it. She needed to go on that quest with Nico and Leo, because one way or another, it was going to come to her.
"Well, you won't be anymore for long. I have no doubt you'll be claimed soon."
Stella walked up and gave Annabeth a hug. Why? Annabeth had no idea. It was kind of awkward. "Uh, thanks?" she said, not really knowing where Stella's sudden sense of gratitude came from.
"Are you done with your interrogation?" Stella asked.
"I guess so."
"See you later, Annabeth. Oh, and give Percy hug for Damasen."
Annabeth jaw dropped. What did she-? How did-? Did she just-? Annabeth couldn't form a single sentence from all the ones swirling in her mind. How did she know about Damasen? The girl was gone before Annabeth could ask her anything.
Annabeth sighed. She decided to take a walk to get her mind off of everything. Too much had happened today. Dinner at the Mess Hall had already started, but she couldn't care less.
She was walking through the woods towards the statue of Zeus' fist when someone grabbed her from behind. She began to reach for her dagger when she recognized that the person was snickering. He picked her up, spun her around to face him, and gave her a quick peck on the lips.
"Hey, wise girl," he said whilst grinning like an idiot.
"You shouldn't sneak up on me like that, I almost stabbed you," she giggled.
He pretended to be offended, "Well, that's not how you greet your boyfriend."
"Most boyfriends don't attack their girlfriends at night in the middle of the woods," she added, staring into his sea green eyes. They still sparkled even in the dull red moon light.
"Why aren't you at dinner?" Percy asked, "Thalia and Grover almost started a food fight."
Annabeth frowned. Thinking about it, she hadn't seen Percy all day, "Speaking of missing food fights, where have you been? I didn't see you anywhere today."
"Packing for New Rome. My mom keeps on adding things to my boxes."
She sighed and leaned her head against his shoulder, "I don't think we are going to be able to go there for a while."
Percy lifted up her chin to make her face him. He was scowling. She thought it was cute. He always did it when he was confused. "What do you mean?" he asked.
"Ella delivered another prophecy today."
Percy eyes widened, "Oh gods. That explains the crazy sky."
Annabeth felt her own eyes filled up with tears. She thought that they would finally have their own life together. She tried to hide it, but her voice caught as she spoke, "Percy, I don't think I can-"
Percy cut her off with a kiss. She ran her hand through his shoppy black hair. Annabeth found it odd, that after all this time, Percy still gave her butterflies. He pulled away, "Hey, look at me. We'll make it. Alright? I haven't let you go yet, and I intend it to stay that way. Whatever sycophantic monster is coming, we'll defeat it, together. You with me?"
Annabeth quietly nodded.
"Oh no, you don't," a voice said from behind her.
Annabeth jumped. She had gone through both Titan and Giant Wars, but Nico di Angelo still gave her the creeps. Really. You could never tell if the guy was there or not, until he said something.
"What are you talking about, Nico?" Percy groaned.
"That whole: 'We're going to save the world thing' again. You can forget that right now."
"Well, what do you expect us to do?" she asked defensively.
"I expect you two to continue your plans for college and live a happy, 'monster-titan-giant-or-whatever' free life with each other," he replied with his arms crossed.
"Do you seriously think we're just going to go around, drinking Starbucks and eating pizza, while the world is falling apart?"
Nico scratched the back of his neck, "Well...no, not really."
"Death boy, does have a point," Juniper stepped out from behind a tree. Seriously?! Her too?! Couldn't she and Percy get one moment alone without someone intruding?
"You two have been through so much, to help the gods in both wars. You've been through enough. It's time someone else steps up for you two. You two are going to New Rome exactly when you planned to. I'm not letting you out of my sight until then, otherwise."
Percy looked at Annabeth. He was silently asking her what she thought. Maybe Nico, and Juniper were right - it was time Percy and her took a break, but she couldn't help feeling selfish for thinking it. Annabeth closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Maybe, they're right."
Percy gave her a puzzled look, "hmm?"
"I mean, it isn't so bad right now. Chiron was planning on sending out a quest, but it doesn't mean we should go do something about it. Besides, if worst comes to worse, we can always come back to help."
"Annabeth, are you sure?" Percy asked.
"Positive," Annabeth nodded.
Percy wrapped his arm around her and kissed her on the forehead, "Whatever you say, wise girl."
Annabeth could feel Juniper and Nico grinning behind her, as she and Percy walked back to the campfire. The world may try to fall, but she and Percy would always be there.

(A/N:)
Okay, like I said before. I am not putting Percabeth into this story. They've been through enough. I'm not sending them out on another stupid quest. I put a slide show up for them, just go above or to the side to watch it. The song is perfect for this.
Sorry I said I'd update twice yesterday, but my computer crashed before I could. Forgive me.
Anyway, i got a question do you guys ship Matt and Stella? Your thoughts?
PLEASE READ!!! ⬇⬇⬇
Okay, so I am planning on making appearances of my readers or some characters of theirs in here.
If you want your character in here please comment their name, godly parent, and personality. (No powerful shisty parents like Stella's, she's the only one with wacky parents in this book.)
