Annabeth Chase: Ella and her Smart Mouth

"Annabeth is here. Does she have cheese? Cheese is good for Ella," asked Ella, the harpy, while she pecked at her sprained wing.

Annabeth frowned and stared at Leo in the infirmary. What was happening? First, some of the cabins were going haywire. Next, this happens. She had a theory about that, of course, but since the Aphrodite Cabin was also having a bad time, she shook it off.

Leo kept mumbling her name as she watched the child of Hephaestus sleep now with 2nd degree burns throughout his body. Why did he have to do that now? After what she had done. That child of gorgon, Calypso. Her scowl turned into a slight smile as she remembered everyone's expression when he first brought her to camp some months ago:

"I need you to keep a close eye on Ella. She keeps on reciting bits of an old prophecy. If those got into the wrong han..." Chiron paused in midspeech when Clarisse stormed in.
"Sir, we have an intruder!" Mark, her half brother, reported from behind her.
Clarisse flicked him on the forehead, "Hey! What did I say? Be quiet and follow me." She sighed and rolled her eyes then went back to Chiron, "Sir, we have an intruder."
"And whom is this intruder?" Chiron asked with a sigh.
"We can't tell from here, Sir. Should we shoot it down?" Mark asked with a spark of excitement.
"Mark!" Clarisse growled through gritted teeth.
Mark turned pail, "Sorry. I will return to my quarters, Sir- I mean Mam, Sir. I-I mean Mam!" Mark quickly scurried off probably to go to hide now.
"Punk," she muttered. "Chiron, I need orders."
Chiron thought for a moment, "Wait until we know who or what it is, before we try to kill it."
They all walked out of the Big House. The Ares and Apollo cabin were gathering up bows and weapons and then lining up in a circle. Annabeth saw a gold dot slowly coming towards them.
It was kind of awkward just standing there waiting for it to come in range. The dot slowly began to become bigger. Mark, holding the binoculars, shouted, "It's a dragon!" Annabeth looked at Piper from across the field and shared a mental conversation as soon as she looked back at her. She knew what Piper was thinking. They both were thinking it. They just hoped they were right.
"Archers get to your positions! Steady..." She could see the gold dragon figure. It was mechanic. "...steady..." No it can't be."...hold it...fi-" Clarisse started.

"Wait!" Piper and her said at the same time. Everyone turned to Piper, who probably just used charm speak.

Then Festus, the dragon, landed with a mighty thud with the supposedly dead, unmistakable Leo Valdez... and some girl? A very pretty girl. Everyone just stared at him in shock with their mouths open. Some even dropped their weapons.

"It's nice to see you, too," he noted sarcastically, "but could you try not blasting us out of the sky next time we come to visit?" Leo hopped off of Festus and helped the girl off.

Piper was the one to break the silence. She rushed up to Leo and gave him a bear hug to the point that his face turned red, which the new girl didn't seem to like, "Oh gods, Leo! Where the Hades were you?! Are you okay?"

"Other than the fact that your suffocating me, just fine," Leo wheezed pulling away from her grasp.
Out of no where Piper back handed him. "What were you thinking! Why didn't you Iris Message us or something?! We thought you were dead!" Jason pulled Piper back from Leo.
Annabeth smirked. She had the exact same reaction when she had found Percy in New Rome...well a little bit of a different reaction. She shivered at the thought of Piper and Leo together. Blek! It just wasn't right. They were like brother and sister.
"Who's the hotty?" Conner popped up from behind the new girl with an evil grin. Annabeth was pretty sure she already knew the answer to that. Word had spread in the Argo II, but part of her secretly hoped she was wrong.
"I am Calypso," she stated giving Connor a questioning look.

"And she is off the market," Leo butted in quickly wrapping his arm protectively around her.

Annabeth sighed. Why do I always have to be right? she thought to herself.

★♥《End of flash back》❤★

It was different now. They never talked about it, but it was clear that Leo still cared about her.

Annabeth's thoughts were suddenly interrupted by Jason and Piper bursting into the room.

"Oh gods," Piper whispered looking at him, "What happened?"

"I don't know," she shook her head, "According to Nyssa one of her new projects going haywire accidentally wandered into the furnace room. Leo said he would go and get it, but as soon as the flames touched him he started screaming. And this is the outcome."

"Will he be alright?" asked Jason.

"Will said that it is only second degree burns. The sleeping is a side effect from the painkillers, and with a little ambrosia and treatment, he should be fine in about 3 weeks."

"What is going on? Everything is going haywire," Piper stated everyone's thoughts for the day.

Just then, Conner Stoll burst into the room carrying Rachel bridal style. Chiron ducked under the door and a couple of Apollo campers limped behind him. Rachel kept on breathing out green mist, mumbling, and coughing. Her red hair was even more crazy than usual, which Annabeth thought was impossible.

"What is wrong with her?" Annabeth asked.

"We thought the oracle was delivering another prophecy, but something is wrong."

"She keeps reciting parts of old prophecies," Chiron stated crossly.

"To storm or fire the world must fall," the Oracle agreed with Chiron. Annabeth shivered why did she have to pick that prophecy.

"That's extremely creepy make her stop," Kayla from the Apollo cabin told her brother, Austin, backing away.

"Why are you asking me? I have know idea how to heal an Oracle. Besides my healing skills have been acting up all day."

"One demigod of the eldest gods will turn six-" she started, but Annabeth slapped Rachel, which surprisingly made it stop for a moment. She couldn't take it.

Unfortunately Ella had other ideas, "...sixteen against all odds." Sometimes Annabeth forgot how powerful Ella's memory was.

"Austin has cheese. Cheese is good for Ella," the harpy tilted her head towards Austin.

Austin tried signaling Ella to be quiet, but she didn't, "Austin is nice. Austin gives cheese to Ella."

Chiron glared at Austin, "Austin, you aren't supposed to give Ella anymore cheese." For the past week Ella had this strange hankering for cheese. A bit too much, for her own good. In reality, cheese was not good for Ella.

"But Chir-" Austin started.

"S-son of Death... Heroes must reject... d-die or rise...Night," the Oracle shouted in between Rachel's coughs.

"Uh Chiron, what prophecy is that?" Annabeth asked. She had never heard of that.

"Another old prophecy recited long ago. Nothing to worry about...I hope."

Ella turned her focus from Austin's medicine bag to Chiron and tilted her head and recited:

" Son of Death shall answer the call
Legatees of the East shall fall
A gift to heal or to kill
Heroes must reject the King's will
The Table of Death, Beauty lies
Bestrayed by the Child of Light
Lord of the East shall die or rise
By the fate of the Star of Night "

Everyone just started blankly at Ella. The Oracle left Rachel alone immediately after Ella spoke the last word. No one likes prophecies. No one.

"Where is Tyson? Tyson is strong. Tyson brings Ella cheese," Ella replied like nothing had happened.

"Annabeth to my office," Chiron said gravely.

She sighed, pulling back a strand of blonde hair. Why must he drag her into this? Whenever Rachel spewed a stupid prophecy onto them, she was his first person to talk to. She glumingly followed the Centaur into his study.

"That is an old prophecy like I said, however..."

"That's not all that there is to it," she assumed with regret.

"There is no proof of it taking place," he sighed.

"Please, babe, I love you. Stop writing"

Shut up Tyler!...Idk what I am doing anymore. Please forgive this interruption. xD I haven't slept in 36hours. (No, to those with dirty minds it is not because of Tyler. Blek! It's cause of trying to write a stupid prophecy that rhymes!)

Leo is awesome! Everything is Leo! Everything is cool when you're Leo! 'Leo? where are my pants?' He is the special!
On that note who likes celery? To me...eh...I am not Canadian, yet I say eh a lot. Idk why, eh.

"Ella likes celery. Celery is good for harpies."

Eat your cereal!

"Writer is mean. Writer should go back to writing. Harch! Ella wants a cracker!"

FINE!(pink coconuts, excuse the hippopotamus interuption)

"So, this hasn't happened yet," she said wanting to bang her head on the wall.

"I am afraid so. Nico has been missing," he stated looking down.

Son of Death, she thought. That had to be Nico. "You don't think?" she asked.

"Legatees of the East shall fall. Who do you know that represents the East?"

Annabeth caught her breath remembering the tree Grover and Percy had caught him in, "Hyperion, ruler of light."

"This prophecy has his name written all over it."

"The Moon, the Sun, the Dawn were his children. It explains the weird weather this morning, but...but he is in Tartarus."

"Exactly, and as for Tartarus, do not be so sure. I am sending out a quest once Leo is better."

"Leo?" she asked bebaffled.

"He is the only Child of Light I can think of. I am sending him to find Nico with two others of his choice after he recovers. No one leaves this camp. For now we will just have to act as if all is well."

Annabeth had some doubts on purposely sending him on the quest. After all, it did say he would betray someone, but she knew it was best not to fight with prophecies, or Chiron for that matter.

Someone knocked on the door and Mark's head appeared from behind the door, "Sir, Nico has returned with the hunters. He has brought a new demigod."

Authors Note:

Sorry this update took so long, but boy is it hard to write prophecies! I know mine sucked, but still. Once you make them you can't sleep. I feel bad for poor Rachel.

Anyways I am looking for someone to edit this story. Two rules: You must speak English and have read HoO.

Anyway sorry to bother you all. Please be free to comment. I love comments even negative ones. What do you think the prophecy means?
