(This is based off of a Tumblr post I saw.)

Finally. It was all over.

The last battle has been fought.

The titans are gone...

Forever...

Everyone was happy. They cheered in celebration. They cheered that they have finally exterminated these creatures who destroyed everything and took innocent people's lives.

One soldier walked around the destroyed town. His raven hair shown in the dying sunlight. He looked around at several soldiers. Some were cheering and hugging each other. Other soldiers were helping the wounded. He sighed as he saw them and continued his way through the war-torn town.

Thoughts were stirring through his head. Thoughts of a brown haired boy with striking green eyes. He thought about when he told the Captain his goal.

"I want to exterminate them all..."

He also thought about all of those times when the teen boy really looked up to him. The Captain really liked this.

Those thoughts soon escaped his mind with the cool breeze the flew passed him. Now he just concentrated on finding the boy.

He walked towards the center of the battlefield, where he had last saw the boy in his titan form. He looked up and saw the body. Steam was coming out of the large bones of the fallen monster. What seemed like a lake of blood, surrounded the disintegrating body and...

The boy's body.

Levi rushed over to the boy. He wasn't moving. Levi's face looked like as if he'd seen a ghost. When he got over to the boy's body, the raven haired man picked up the red stained body and placed it in his lap. Levi ran his fingers through the teen boy's soft brown hair. The Captain also placed his hand, roughly, on the boy's chest where his heart was at.

After about a minute, he brought it back to his lap, slowly. The man gritted his teeth and looked at the boy. Tears began forming in his icy blue eyes. Why now? The war was over. They could finally have a chance to be with one another.

Tears streamed down the Captain's face and they landed on the boy's face.

The man whispered:

"Bastard...why did you look up to me?"

And on that day...

Humanity's last hope...

Fell along with the titans...

And gained his true wings of freedom...

And humanity's strongest soldier...

Couldn't save another person he loved...

(Sorry this is so sad. I hinted Rivetra in the last part as well as Ereri in this. You can now hit me as hard as you can. *hands you a metal baseball bat.)
